Hi everyone,

This is a quick post to tell you Anna Wight is also doing a free draw tomorrow morning for 4 of our NEW Image & Journal Note Booklets and you can enter to win by clicking on this link HERE and posting a comment on what you like best about Fall.

Plus - I had to show you this adorable Halloween card that Anna created using the little witch from our new Halloween stamp set (coming soon). You can get all the details on her blog about her new scallop card die and how she created the card.

I also wanted to share this beautiful Cinderella Coach card that Linda Duke made when she was on the Dirty Dozen tem at Spiltcoast, using the flourish stamps from our Chreub set and embossing them! You can get the details on how Linda made the card on her blog HERE.

Linda was on our design team and she created so many fabulous samples. She is still going to play with our products if she has extra time but she is one busy lady!

Here are two super pretty cards that Vivian Peters xreated using images from our Flowers Cotton Scraps!

I love the way she sewed them to her card and embellished them! You can see more samples HERE on her blog
Thats all, I just wanted to make sure you all knew about the free draw over at Anna's blog - Sweet Miss Daisy!

We Have a Winner and Link to 68 Raffle Prizes!

Oh my Goodness, we had 451 entries for the free draw for our Halloween Stamp Set and 4 New Image & Journal Note Booklets! Congratulations to the winner: HappyHappyJoyJoy
who said... Wow! All these things are so gorgeous! Love them! I am from the great state of Texas and the city of Plano.

Thanks so much to all of you that left such NICE comments! You have no idea how much that means to all of us! I certainly can't take all the credit. We are a small but powerful team and Cindy van Koll our head graphic designer is the one responsible for putting together all of our fabulous vintage products! I do come up with the product ideas and then raid my enourmous inventory (it's seriously taking over our house) or I go buy more old stuff and then get Cindy to change all sorts of things to make it all perfect and heartwarming! If they are not smiling, she cuts their heads off and adds happy faces! There is a tremdous amount of brainstorming and love that goes into every product, so it's sooo nice to know it is appreciated! I also have Nicole our wonderful office manager looking after all our paperwork and such a great team of designers and help from my family!

Darn, I wish everyone could win! But I can tell you about more goodies you can enter to win and also support a great cause at the same time. Jeanne Turner has coordinated a fund raising raffle with Jenn Balcer over at Splitcoast to donate money to the Red Cross to help out families that have suffered from the devastating recent flooding in the Midwest, including parts of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin. There are 68 fantastic prizes you can win that have been donated by companies and just people that care and want to do something to help. You can either donate $5.00 for a single ticket, or $25.00 will get you 6 tickets! Here is the link to get all the details. Here is a link to the Gallery of Prizes! I LOVE this adorable little calendar that Pam Hooten from our design team donated along with 4 of our Image & Journal Note Booklets! She made it using one of our Sweetchips Little Girl Outfits!

I donated this ladies-girlfriends theme package
to the raffle with our new Support the Girls Stamp set, our Girl Time Cotton Scraps, Wonderful Women Cardstock Stickers and our new Girlfriends Image & Journal Notes Booklet! I saw so many cool things I bought the 6 ticket bundle but I hope I don’t win back my donations.

I’m also going to donate a Halloween package with every Halloween item we have! I just need to send them the photo, but it will also be one of the raffle prizes. Companies have been so generous!!! There are LOTS of stamps and stamp sets, gift certificates, stationery sets, Tim Holtz Grungeboard, 100 packages of ribbon, Spellbinder dies, I even saw one of our Artsy Alphabet Stamp Sets! They will draw all the winning tickets on August 6, 2008. Here is the info link again.

I adore all the new samples that have been posted
in our online Gallery HERE and I can hardly wait
until our new stamp sets arrive, so our design team can create more inspiring samples because I really see so many creative possibilities in our new stamp sets! Michelle Wooderson from our design team was demonstrating using Copic Markers and their little airbrush at the CHA show and I gave her one of our two proof sets of our new Birthday Kids stamp set. Look at these adorable birthday cards she created! I love that you can stamp the 4 different kids on this set holding different things. Michelle stamped the little girl holding the ice cream cone and the boy holding the balloon. She used a Spellbinders die to mat her colored stamped images on. The numbers will also fit in the balloon and I think the birthday invitation stamps included will make this a fun versatile set! Here is a link to the Copic Blog with super helpful tips from Marianne!

Marisa our July Guest Designer has been busy posting a new sample almost everyday! I love this invitation she created using our Wine Lover Stamp Set. You can get all the details HERE on her blog. It's the layers and little details she includes that always make me say wow! The way she stamps and colors things like the cheese and part of the wine glasses and cuts them out to create layers adds such depth.

Ooops - I almost forgot, you have to go see this adorable card HERE that Vicki Chrisman from our design team created for a challange she is involved with Taylored Expressions! She has lots of great links to see the other samples.

I also wanted to post a couple of fabulous cards
I spotted on the Splitcoast Gallery. There are so many now that it's easy for samples to get buried. I adore the way that Beverly (colelady) used the large silverware set

and other stamps from our Kitchen Classics to create these 2 cards (in the pink and the black polkadot paper).

Then she inspired Darlene (akronstamperdpk) who made this lovely place setting you can see below in yellow!

Then I remembered there are more cool samples in our gallery so I typed in ‘kitchen’ in our search box and I came up with LOTS MORE

Talking about cooking and food... I was almost ready to post this when my youngest daughter Chelsea called from work and asked my husband and I go meet her for lunch at her fav Vietnamese soup place The Noodle House. We all love spicy soup and I’ve learned not to turn down an invite from my kids as we are all so busy, it may be awhile before I get another one! So we went and ate huge bowls of Pho noodle soup – so spicy it made our noses run. It was wonderful! Chelsea has 3 years to go for her masters in therapeutic recreation. She works at an old folks home, so toady she was doing exercise classes with them and crossword puzzles. It sounds like more fun than work to me!

PS – In case you are wondering what Pho Noodle
Soup is, I found a photo. Chelsea and I had spicy
vegtable and Scott had the curried chicken soup.

I have some exciting news to share later this week and a cool free download!

CHA NEW Stamps Sets and More!

I know everyone is waiting to see what NEW and wonderful stamp sets will debut at the CHA Show later this week, so I’m posting 3 sets today that are already in production and almost ready to ship to stores! I’m so delighted with the way these two large sets turned out and how different and FUN they both are!

Birthday Kids has 22 separate stamps – plus a full set of numbers! This set is so CUTE and versatile with adorable boys and girls from the side and front views, which are designed to hold the ice cream cone, party horns, balloon(s) or present.

Theres more...
They can also blow out the candles on the cake. You can add as many candles as needed. Stamp numbers in balloon. Create invitations, birthdays cards, scrapbook pages and keepsakes galore! I thought of this set as a 'kids only' but after a few ladies said they would stamp the little girls for a girlfriend card... I changed my mind! We even squezzed in the 'pin the tail on the donkey' boy!

SL Glamour Girls has 21 separate art deco inspired stamp designs in large to small inchie size. This stamp set has both designs begging to be colored and also perfect for the ‘bold black ink on pink’ glamour girl style that’s so popular! The words and sentiments are a mix of warm and funny greetings that will have your girlfriends smiling.

Dress up cards, tags, gift packaging, albums and more. I want to stamp a pink journal and add rhinestones to the center of the flowers!

My husband gets credit for the last sentiment in the bottom right corner. We decided to include it because you can always snip it off it as well as the others if you don’t want to always use them.
In case you missed seeing our new our SM19 Support the Girls Stamp set, it will be a medium set and it has 18 separate stamps with a real retro ‘uplifting’ style. We designed this set to also help raise funds for the Susan Koman foundation for breast cancer research. I’m donating $1.00 from every set we order and also donating sets to stores that sell our products and are hosting a ‘pink fundraising crop’.

I adore this card Lisa Zappa from our design team created with this set! Lisa got one of the demo proof sets to play with because she is a breast cancer survivor and an inspiration and hope to so many other women! She was diagnosed in her twenties and is still actively involved in fundraising.

You can see the other cards and check out her supply and tip list here on her blog – Plus - Lisa has posted some free vintage sheet music you can download! shabbychickjunk.blogspot.com

We have some other new stamp sets in the works but they are still under wraps. I have to tell you our new Halloween stamp set was just finalized today and it’s Spooktacular! It’s full of little monsters, spiders, a witch and more – but ADORABLE is the best way to describe it! I will post the Halloween and other new sets after I get back home.

SHOW COUPON
If you are a retailer and you are qualified to purchase at a wholesale level – please use this coupon! If you are a consumer, you can always print this coupon and pass it on to your favorite retailer. Many stores can’t attend the CHA Show due to time and budget but we always extend our Show Special Coupon to every retailer and this Show Special which starts RIGHT NOW and LASTS until July 22, 2008. First come – first serve. Our retailers will also get this in their newsletter today, but I thought some people may want to pass it on to their fav store that may not be able to make it to the show.

Here is a cute card that Vicki Chrisman from our design team whipped up with an image from our NEW Halloween Image & Journal Notes Booklet!

The 4 NEW Booklets turned out FABULOUS and are available for stores to order NOW! They will be available through our Shopatron store after the CHA Show.

The FOUR NEW TITLES are Halloween, Christmas, Little Dolls and Girlfriends! You can see samples if you scroll down further on this blog.

Our talented design team will be starting to post samples in our Online Gallery over the next few weeks and you can check it anytime to see new projects added here!

I just wanted to thank everyone for all their kind words and get well wishes for my DAD! He was on way too many pills, so they are adjusted and his heart rate is stable again, so he got discharged from the hospital yesterday. We had a big party here tonight for my mom’s 75th birthday and I know having her honey back home was the gift she wanted most! I love this photo I took of him on Fathers Day!

Cindy, our head graphic artist, may post something while I’m away if she has time (she is responsible for putting together
every wonderful product we offer) so you may have to wait until I get back. I know you will LOVE what I have to show you in new samples and cool ideas!

Warmly,
Sandy Redburn

Hello!

I had to let you know that you can win 2
of our medium stamp sets for FREE if your name gets choosen in the blog candy giveaway tomorrow over here at Scrapscene

The owner, Angie, did a review on our Clear Art Stamps and she used the Bird Lovers set to decorate a little doll house and it's so cute and original - you have to check it out! From the curtains, bedspread and ‘framed’ images to the pillows!

Angie is doing a draw tomorrow night for a free set of Seaside and a Sexy Numbers Stamp set and all you have to do to enter is post something you like about stamping over at Scrapscene! You can post what stamping technique you love, or what things you like to stamp, what you like about clear stamps, or you may have your own idea. The drawing is open until Wednesday, July 9th at midnight EST and she will annouce the winner on July 10th.

I also wanted to tell you that if you are interested in learning more about Copic Markers (the art markers that have become so darn popular) I found a great blog that is full of helpful tips and techniques! Marianne Walker is the product specialist for Copic Markers and she has started a tutorial blog called http://ilikemarkers.blogspot.com/that is filled with really helpful tips, step by step instructions and lots of photos! I just sent Marianne a bunch of our stamp sets and I’m itching to see what sets she picks first to play and color with!

So many of our stamps are perfect for coloring and several ladies on our design team own Copic Markers. Here are some stamped cards our design team has used Copic Markers with. You can see on these cards below (stamped with our Sweet Kids) how well the Pastel paper goes with the card Linda Duke colored, and how well the earthy papers go with the card Michelle Wooderson colored

Lisa Zappa colored this adorable fishing card titled 'Have a Whopper of a Birthday' and then she added Diamond Glaze over the water to make it look wet and a Gelly Roll Glitter pen to make the fish look shimmery. The stamp set is our SM-16 Fishing Buds.

I really want to try these markers so I've started a little crash course over at Mariannes blog to learn some tips and the Copic booth is booth is right around the corner from our at CHA, so Lisa is going to be doing some Copic demos in our booth as well!

Marisa our guest designer for the month has been posting a new card every day with all her techniques and supplies on her blog and she has some amazing samples to share like this card she stamped with our Favorite Fellas set!

Pammy Jo over at Splitcoast has posted a NEW challange this week HERE to use black with our products and you can see the gallery HERE and this is the COOL card she made!

New Books, Stamp Set, Guest Designer & Neely from Tilly & the Wall!

Yippee! I have LOTS of great news to share! First, our 4 latest Image & Journal Notes Booklets Little Dolls, Girlfriends, Halloween and Christmas are at the printers and we will have them for the upcoming CHA Wholesale Show July 18 – 20th. I’ve been waiting so long to share some of these incredible vintage images and I’M SO HAPPY I can’t pick a favorite book! They turned out fantastic and each title includes such an eclectic mix of vintage images from sentimental and beautiful to hilariously FUN! This is an AD going into CARDS MAGAZINE showing all 8 titles and you can’t really see by the pages on the covers but we included lots of meaningful quotes, little poems and funny one liners with the journal notes that will make them so easy and fun to use!
Our head graphic designer Cindy van Koll did an incredible job and we also brought designer Carol Bauman on board to help with a few pages in each book.

We are also working like crazy ladies to finish up a few more stamp sets for the CHA show. Remember if your favorite store is going to this big wholesale show in Chicago this month, be sure you tell them to come by our booth # 2950 and check out all our new items and samples, see demos by designers Vicki Chrisman and Lisa Zappa, our show specials and prizes!

One of our NEW Stamp Sets to debut at the show is called Support the Girls and I’m happy to announce I’m going to donate $1.00 from every set we have manufactured to the Susan Korman Foundation for breast cancer research and we just ordered 500 sets, so we are off to a good start! We are giving sets away to stores signing up at the BHG Booth for the Pink Crops and I will more exciting news and samples to share soon!

This medium size set will be available later this month and retail for $15.75. I will post a blog candy give-away for this set soon!

I’m also thrilled to introduce our New Guest Designer Marisa from Richmond BC! I met Marisa through http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ the stamping website that continues to blow me away with all of the talent you see in their huge online galleries and their endless resources and diverse but ‘oh so friendly and welcoming’ group of ladies (ok, there are a few guys) who continually add to the site. The first time I visited I didn’t see much until I started clicking and really looking around. You can see Our HUGE Online Gallery Here where people have posted samples they’ve created with our products! Some of the ladies take turns and also post weekly challenges like this Patriotic challenge HERE. Hey, if you missed my FREE Vintage Sheet Music download, just click it on or scroll farther down this blog.

Ok – back to Marisa! I really LOVE the way she creates scenes and adds layers to so many of her cards! She is originally from the Philippines and she told me her sister from San Francisco got her hooked on scrapbooking first but when she discovered stamping she became totally hooked. She is a busy mom and works full time but she now has her own little studio at home to stamp and be creative!

She joined Splitcoast in 2007 and she says she is grateful to all the people she has met and all the techniques and inspiration she gets.

On the Strut Your Stuff card shown above, I love the way Marisa layered the leaves and eggs she stamped from our Bird Lovers stamp set with papers from our Earthy Paper Pad on her first card.

I also really like the way she mixed the leaves and the flower border from our Bird Lovers stamps with the girl in the hammock from our Sweet Kids stamp set. The 3D layers and colors are perfect.

She used our Seaside Stamps to create this pretty beach scene with the lighthouse stamped in the water and the layered shells and the bird she stamped look great popped up.

Here is a link to Marisa’s blog where you can see a bunch more of the wonderful cards she has created and her list of stamping supplies, tips and techniques she used. I love the way she used our Bird Lovers Stamp set and papers from our Earthy Paper Pad on her first card.
We had such a fun weekend celebrating getting the 4 new books ‘outta here’ as my husband Scott puts it. There sort of take over, as I’m sifting through 1000’s of images and stacks of old books. I can’t really rip pages from the books so I have post it notes stuck on 100’s of pages with changes to make and quotes or words to add. Some images go through so many changes they don’t even look the same when Cindy is finished with them. The people or animals have to be ‘heartwarming’ or they get their heads chopped off once in awhile to add a happy face, or we may mix 4 different items together to get 1 perfect image. It’s fun but I don’t do the Photoshop part so it’s hard to be patient and see if they can pull off some of the crazy ideas I get. These 4 new books have LOTS of amazing pages!

On Friday night we went to a nightclub in Vancouver with my daughter Chelsea and her friend Anthony to see Tilly & the Wall at Richards on Richards! We have a couple of their CD’s so we were pretty excited and it was so MUCH FUN! We were really excited most of all to finally meet Neely, one of the lead singers from the band, because we’ve heard so much about her and the band from her aunt Vicki Chrisman who is also our head sample designer, that we felt like we already knew her. Neely is in this photo with Chelsea and myself. She has such a great voice and she is so sweet and pretty. She came and sat with us before and after the show. When she’s not touring she teaches elementary school and I bet all the boys have a crush on her! They have a crazy busy tour ahead you can SEE HERE.

Before the concert, we went out for yummy Chinese food and then went to the Night Market in Chinatown in downtown Vancouver. There were sorts of cool things to eat and buy. I bought 8 year old Gingsing (to make me strong) , some silk flower mini lights (for my booth at CHA) and a DVD of my favorite movie last year ‘Bobby’. http://www.bobby-the-movie.com/ It was a diverse mix of cheap no tax goodies!

Okay, way too much blabbing here, but please come back and visit again because I have a bunch more things to announce, inspiring samples to post and Free Blog Candy Give-Aways!

PS- Check out all the great samples OuR TALENTED DESIGN TEAM has been creating and on posting on our online Gallery!
Plus - I just got word from designer Linda Duke that she has some cool samples on her blog that she created with Spellbinders New dies HERE and they have a contest!
