Hi Everyone,

I feel so bad posting a winner when some people are probably just opening the big monthly newsletter I sent yesterday - so I'm going to do a NEW GIVEAWAY for these 2 Stamp sets!

Leave a comment and tell me which set you like best?  Winner announced later this week when I can do a post

Thanks for all your wonderful feedback on the stores. I guess it's split on which store is better.
Congratulations to # 110, eyestotheocean who was the random.org winner, but there was no email, so I hope you see your name and email Jessica at: office@craftysecrets with your address and items

Here are the 2 new stamp sets and they are sending proofs to the show, so if all goes well we should have some in 2 weeks!

SL50 Pixie Dust is a fun set with several whimsical characters, a little elf house, and great versatile images

This set is SM44 Fairy Wishes  turned out so pretty!

Okay, I have to leave for Texas and we need to drive to Tacoma airport
I will post again from the show.  After the show is over we are heading to Arizona and driving to Mexico to see Scott & Vicki's fave band Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers - third year.  My favorite thing is the condo we rent on the beach and the fun company!

New Etsy Store, Great Giveaway, CD 3 Arrived, GASC in TX & More!

Hi Everyone,   *** Ooops, I posted the wrong link to our July 3 New Animal Stamp Giveaway in the July 8/12 Monthly Newsletter.  This is the correct link!
I will do 2 Giveaways and draw one on random.org from the correct link and 1 winner from all the people who entered here today (July 8).  Sorry, I didn't notice I had the link from last month and didn't update it.  Both winners can choose 2 large sets and 1 medium or the same amount in any of our products.

I have a great Giveaway and exciting News!  We have a New Etsy Store with a 10% Off Coupon valid until June 2 and as usual all orders include a free gift. We still have our Shopatron Online Store but many have asked for Paypal and Etsy works great for Paypal and for International Orders, as well as some of our new items coming soon.  Simply paste this code in CRAFTYSECRETSNEWETSY  at checkout to get the 10% off in our Etsy Store.  Valid until June 2

To celebrate we have a Giveaway for the following items:
(or pick any $51.95 value in products)
1 American Beauty Stamp set - perfect for 4th of July projects
Just leave a comment here on this blog post and a random.org winner will be announced early Tues, May 29 when we head off to the GASC - Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington, TX.

CD 3 has arrived and our shipper sent off a huge pile of pre-orders today!

Vicki Chrisman is coming to the GASC Show again to do demos and make & takes and these fun 4th of July tags will be one of the make & takes using our American Beauty Stamp Set. We are looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones!

Vicki and I are also teaching this Wood Art Journal Album at the Makeathon on Wed., May 30. using designs from CD 3 with our Art Studio Clear Art Stamp Set

Look at these adorable tags DT Member Pam Hooten made for her granddaughters pre-school grad and you can see the keepsake tin she decorated HERE on Pam's Blog

DT Member Julie Campbell created this special layout of her great grandmother using a frame and paper from CD #2, Creating with Vintage Illustrations.  Julie has such fantastic family stories.    I love how 3D the frame looks! It makes me so happy when things work and that was our hope that the printed frame would still look 3D embossed and it does!

Julie has also been busy adding to her journal and I love the way she is adding a funky artistic flair and her hand lettering with doodling.  See more pages here on her Blog.

DT Member Marilyn McIldoon has been busy working on a Bingo card mini album using every color scheme and featuring vintage ladies (not ours).  I love the way she used our French Mail set on her blue card
On this card she used our Down on the Farm Stamp Set to stamp Country Girl, the barn and rooster.  You can see more cards here on Marilyn's Blog

Jan Hennings used CD 3 to create some great new cards including this one and see the others on Jan's Blog and enter her cool giveaway for a Bind it All and O-Wire on June 3.

I'm in love with this beautiful card that Sophie La Fontaine made using our Garden Girls Clear Art Stamp Set. Not only are the colors so pretty but look at how she stamped the entire scene with the tree, fence, water can, spade and sentiment!

We had fun at the stamp show in Puyallup WA last week and and I wanted to take a bunch of photos but my battery died in my camera so I only have a couple from setting up. I had to snap a photo of this card Vicki Chrisman made as I love the way she stamped the Queen Bee  wings on vellum and stuck them up on her card.  Ooops - I meant to link all the products to our New Etsy Store this time and did them all to our Shopatron Store (from habit) and just went back and changed them.  We still need to add Cotton Scraps

We've finished 2 NEW Stamp sets and I'm just waiting for the proofs.  A Large set called Pixie Dust and a medium called Fairy Wishes.  There are several others in the works including the Button Set - so many thanks to all of you for your great suggestions!  My only problem is I want to include everything and there isn't enough space!

Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered into our Giveaway (value over $50.00)

Please tell me what store do you like better Etsy or our Shopatron Store??

Check out our new Etsy Store!

Wishing you joy & creativity

Fun Lampshade Ideas, Herb Garden, See Us at the WA Stamp Show

Hi Everyone ,

I have some fun ideas to share today!  We are also leaving this morning to set up at the Heirloom Stamp Show in Puyallup WA, so if you are in the area - we would love to see you!

I came across this Ikea lampshade that I had and decided to try a couple of quick ideas to show you how easy it is to alter a lampshade or you could create a photo candle wrap using a design you like.  I love this rose paper from our Pattern CD #1 and also made a reduced copy of a layout Cindy made using files from our new Typography CD # 3.

I looked on the Ikea website but I couldn't find the exact shade I used but they have a few blank shades like the one below and I've seem several lampshades in second hand stores that would work. You just need a flat surface to attach to.  You can even wrap a design around a glass and add a candle or battery tea light.

I thought it would be fun to shrink a layout and create a wall lamp for a child's room. I just wish Ikea had the same shades so I could make photo lamps for my niece and nephew. I know they would love the little push button switch on the cord.  If anyone finds a good source please let me know. Cindy (our graphic designer) made this adorable layout using papers and ephemera  from CD #3.  You can pre-order it now and it will ship May 25.

It was so easy!  The layout was reduced to 9.5" and photocopied on plain copy paper and wrapped around the shade.  You could attach it with a bit of double sided sticky tape but I just used a couple of pieces of scotch tape so I could change it up easily.  I wished after that I had copied it onto light weight cardstock as the paper is so thin some of the detail faded back with the light on.

Next I shrunk down this pretty rose floral paper from CD #1 and wrapped it around.

Same deal - I wish I had copied it on white cardstock as the paper was a bit too thin

How about this cool tea light shade that DT member Michele Kovack stamped a few years ago using our Wildflowers Set.  Michele used some of the diecut pieces from a couple of Vicki's 3D Shadow Box Die to make the frame and stamped on vellum for the 'windows'. It looks like stained glass when lit up

CD 3 has 10 different Templates and there is one lampshade template you can print on 8.5 x 11" white cardstock to create a lampshade like this sample printed on 1 of the papers.  You could use a blade & ruler to cut windows and it would be cute to punch little stars in a baby shade.   We tested this shade and it also fits on a large wine glass.  Add a candle tea light or battery operated one and you could have fabulous centerpieces for a wedding table or romantic dinner.

I showed this shade Vicki made before but in case you missed it, she punched circles from some of the ad paper that will be on CD 3 and glued them to a plain shade to make this cool altered lamp.

I can't remember where I saw this umbrella shade idea but I love it!

I have a couple of other lampshade ideas in my head, so this isn't the end yet.

Now onto this great idea from Lucy over at Craftberry Bush who had to have her children make herb gardens for their grandma's for Mother's Day. She has a bunch more inspiring photos on her Blog and look how well our Garden Scraps go with them!

Marilyn McIldoon has been busy altering Bingo cards in different color schemes and I adore this green one and how she used our Let's Hang Out Stamp Set with the iron and apron!

Look at this very pretty card that Jan Hennings created using papers and images from CD #3Thanks Jan!

Lastly, I want to tell you about a new fab Cupcake Stand Die that Vicki designed for Accucut and they just released it.  Expect to see all sorts of wonderful ideas that I know Vic will create!

Okay, if you are anywhere near Puyallup, WA drop by the Heirloom Stamp Show at the Fairgrounds and ask me for a free gift with any purchase!  The show runs Sat 10 - 5 and Sun 11 - 4 PM.  My hubby Scott's fave band is playing in Seattle so I thought we may as well do the show as we will be so close by.

Wishing you joy & creativity
Sandy Redburn

Cute Vintage Button Card Idea, Creative Journals & Linky Winner

Hi Everyone,

I'm late but I have some fun ideas to share today and a winner for our 2nd Linky Party.  Congratulations to #3 Cynthia Olheiser who entered her dress form card (below) posted on Spiltcoast and was the random.org winner!  You can see all of the entries here if you scroll to the bottom. I wish we had more entries but a Big Thanks to all the ladies who entered - I'm going to send you each a little gift and to everyone who entered last month.

Here is Cynthia's card that random.org picked and she gets a $50.00 CS Gift Certificate. Look at the cute lace skirt she added to the dress form from our Sew Special stamp set.

I spotted the cute Button Card Idea Melissa Bove entered using our Material Girl Stamp set, (which I know many readers have as it's our top selling small set).  I posted it on Pintrest under Cool Ideas Using our Stamps and it's had over 60 repins, so other people love the idea including DT Member Marilyn McIldoon who created this cute pink version below.  The link to Melissa's card is

I know Papertrey has a super cute Button Card stamp set, but I've had a button stamp set on my 'To Make Stamp Sets' ever since we did our Material Girl Set and you all  fell in love with the little thread card (see thread card below Marilyn stamped and wrapped floss around).  We just need to do our Button stamp set different from Papertrey. I will show a draft soon! UPDATE: NanaBeth asked for sayings - I would love to hear any, please leave a comment with ideas!

We've also been working on other new stamp sets in Fairy and Pixie stamps, Dressed Animals, Garden and Tea Party!  Actually there are more sets in the works but we also have T-shirt Designs to finish and a couple of other fun surprises. Hey - we are just a small 2.5 person office!

Have you noticed how popular Art Journals have become?  I mean the artsy-creative styles that allow you the freedom to explore, play, paint, stamp, stitch, cut, paste doodle and journal your thoughts, hopes and dreams.  You can make them out of any medium and add lists, photos, fave images, ephemera, etc., and the best part is you can just add pages and updates whenever the urge hits you and you don't have to be locked into any specific style and there are NO RULES!  Just add anything that makes you HAPPY!

Ask yourself questions, interview other people to document their ideas and answers.  You can follow any path and theme. You can keep your journal secret or share it. I keep hearing words like Addictive, Fun, Liberating and Freedom so I'm going to start one but in the meantime check out DT Member Julie Campbells Journal she just started!

DT Member Marilyn has been working on a Sewing Journal you can see if you scroll through her April & May blog posts.  She has been sewing up everything from cards and paper to a rag quilt she made in March, and a journal is a great place to keep track of creative projects and ideas.

Did you see DT Member Pam Hooten's Art Journal?  Scroll through her Crafty Secrets April & May Posts and see the colors and cool stamping she is doing!

DT Leader Vicki Chrisman met with her 'Ladies Art Group' last week and I envy their fun once a month lunch they do, taking turns and eating and playing together - making a 'mess at someone else's house'.  Vicki shrunk down this digital layout she made with our New CD # 3 (at printers and ready Mar 25/12) and added it to an altered canvas

I'm learning to use Photoshop Elements properly (I usually cheat and use my free  Paint.net).  Cindy (our graphic designer) told me what buttons to click and taught me about layers when I wanted to make this sample using a bunch of the texty designs I had Vicki Chrisman design for CD #3.  I'm thrilled with the way it turned out and even more excited to see what other people will create with all these fun re-sizable PNG files.  I pasted 2 antique painting together to make the cool background which is on CD 3 and Vicki handmade each design and Cindy turned them all into proper files on the CD - yippee!

When I make my journal I want to add this photo of George, our daughter & her boyfriend's Pug we recently doggie-sat for 2 weeks as they were off working on the New Batchelor Canada TV Show - I will share more details as soon as Katie can spill the beans!  We miss our dog Otis (who our youngest daughter dog-knapped) but we fell for George who was a speeding bullet and a snuggle puss who entertained us non-stop!

Lastly, I have a couple of great cards to share like this one by Sophie La Fontaine who used our Birds of Happiness Stamp setAlso see the other fabulous cards in Sophie's Gallery!   Hey, did you see the Baby Onesie I stamped with this cute set?

I also saw it 's Lori Craig's Birthday this week (big time helper at Splitcoast) and Lori is such a sweetie, so say Happy Birthday if you know her! This is one of my fave cards she has ever made with our Clear Art Stamp sets. She used the Home Sweet Home set and her colors make me HAPPY! It's so bright and fun but still has the art deco style.

I will be back later this week with something new to share

Wishing you joy and creativity

Fairy Doll Stamps, Pre-Order CD #3, See Our Linky Party

Hi Everyone,

I have some super cute cards made with our All Dolled UP Stamps, a Special Deal with Free S&H on Pre-Orders for CD #3 with a bunch of cool samples and link to over at Craftberry Bush Blog to  Lucy's pretty tutorial on antiquing glass bottles   using some of our images.

I also want to encourage you to enter our current Linky Party and post any sample you have created.  There are only 7 entries right now - so don't be shy, you could be the random winner of a $50.00 Crafty Secrets Gift Certificate. You have 4 days left so go for it!

Look at this adorable fairy doll card that DT Member Michele Kovack created using our All Dolled Up Clear Art Stamp Set. You can get the details here on Michele's Blog and you have to watch the uplifting video she made of her daughter Courtney's prom at the handicap school she attends. In fact  - make your kids watch it, so they understand how different life would be in a wheelchair - forever.
Alumni DT member Marisa Grosson recently stamped the same paper doll girl and added the fairy outfit but gave her brown hair.

I've added a bunch of the fabulous Doll samples that Sophie La Fontaine and Marie-alice created in our Shopatron Store you can see if you click on the Doll Stamp Link above. Then look at this super adorable card that Sophie just made for her nephew "Baby Conductor'
Then, when I was over at Splitcoast I saw a bunch more fabulous new samples by others!

Here's the cover and we had to up the file count. The manufacture I use has been super busy but they said we should have the CD's in stock by May 25 (hopefully before).  Pre-orders will be sent out right away, on a first come basis. You can see more samples and a full description here in our online store.  I also added more samples to CD #1 and 2.

Here are Preview Sheets of layouts created. On the actual CD, the Preview sheets get really big so you can see the details and there are Preview Sheets for all of the jpg , png and template files.

I asked DT Leader Vicki Chrisman if she could create a tree, sun, grass, girl, cat, dog, flowers from old text and map paper I sent her and look at how cute they turned out in the top middle sample below!  Cindy turned them into PNG files so they can be laid over a background I made.  Then I had Cindy teach me how to add them in Photoshop Elements and I created the sample below - which I'm so proud of but really it's Vicki that deserves all the credit for creating the designs!

I love the way the 10 Templates turned out!  The projects are fun with a good variety

I should tell you we are currently working on building an Etsy Store because so many customers want to pay by Paypal and overseas people will be able to order. It's coming along but there are a ton of products, photos, etc to add.  There will also be a Zazzle Shop with T-shirt designs (like the cool T-shirt sample below), mousepads, cell phone cases and much more!

Okay,  don't forget to get out your Crafty Secrets products and make something for our Linky Party, or post a past project you really like. You might be the random $50.00 winner and you could get all 3 of our CD's for free and you would still have a couple of bucks left to spend!

Have you been watching American Idol?  We are hooked and last night there were such great performances. Who do you want to win?  It's tough, I really like Jessica and Phillip and would buy their CD's but Joshua has such an amazing voice!

Wishing you joy & creativity
