Happy Howlween, Tutorial and Upcoming CK and Junk Salvation 2013 Shows!

Happy Halloween Everyone,

I have a few more cute Halloween samples you may want to save for next year, a great tutorial by DT Member Sheila Rumney showing how to digitally cut your own Autumn leaves, and info on the CK Show Nov 8-9 and Junk Salvation Show 15-16 we will be at in WA!  Plus - our Pillow Pocket Download now includes a PNG transparent file (thanks to Cindy) so you can lay it over paper and photos now and I made a little 'how-to' sheet below.

I really love the altered witches on our Halloween CD (also in Halloween Ephemera Download) because they are big and funky and I adore the way DT Member Kathy Clement reduced one for this card and gave her a treat bag and made a matching envelope. Kathy has a bunch of photos and details on her blog.

Here's a cute idea by DT Member Rebekah Fairies who used some of our Hallow papers to make witches legs. Love the little ruffle skirt!

DT Member Michele Kovack created a cute witch card you can see on her blog and she also made these fun bottles of Halloween hand sanitizer for all the teachers at her daughter's school

Sheila Rumney has a new Leaf Shape Tutorial this time showing how you can cut different leaf shapes out of digital papers and look how she added them on this beautiful layout below.  Papers and images are all from our Thanksgiving Download.

I had Cindy our graphic designer turn the Blank Box Template in our new $2.95 Pillow Pocket Box Download into a PNG file. Now the inner section of the box is transparent if you use image software that allows you to layer PNG files such as Photoshop Elements.
I used a photo of our daughter Katie (who I can't believe is 31 now) with Ryan, her sweetheart since high school.

You can also use a free download like Paint.net from www.getpaint.net or for Mac users www.gimp.orgNOTE:  You don't have to have image editing software to use, you can simply print either file on cardstock.

Mark your calendar if you live anywhere in near Seattle, WA as we will be at 2 Shows next month and are cleaning out all sorts of odd ball stock with our big sale.  See us Nov 7-8 at the CK Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Show in Bellevue, WA . Here's a $3.00 Off Coupon

Then the next weekend we will have a double booth at the Junk Salvation Show Nov 15 and 16/13 in Puyallup, WA. This is our first time selling at this show put on by the Funky Junk Sisters Dixie and Linda but I've been a shopper at their show and loved it!  Also, great NEWS - the ever charming Vicki Chrisman will be at the Show helping us and then coming to Canada to work on upcoming specials!

Please join us Monday, Nov 4/13 for our Linky Party and Design Team Challenge. We will have a New Design Team Member joining us!

Sandy

New Pillow Pocket Printable, Cutie Cat Digital Stamps, Christmas Giveaway Winner and Shows!

Hi Everyone,

I have 2 NEW fantastic items to show you today plus big CONGRATS to Elaine # 108 who was our random.org winner of our Christmas Jumbo Pack Giveaway. It made me so happy to see Elaine won as has been a long time supporter and has never won anything but I wish everyone could win!

We also have new  (and my FAV) Cutie Cats Stamps Digital Stamps for $5.95 and a Pillow Pocket Printable Template for $2.95.  Plus - scroll to bottom to read about 2 shows we will be at in WA this November!
We sold out of our Cutie Cats Clear Stamp Set so they have become DAS  M45 Digital Stamp Set Download for $5.95.  What a deal as they are the cutest - most awesome drawings of cute cats I've ever seen and so much bigger as digital! The adorable cat with the chalkboard is now 6" H and kitten leaning on arms is 4"w x 3.5"

Here are some fun ideas with samples!
We also have a New Pillow Pocket Pattern Printable for $2.95 with a plain and a fancy damask pattern included and samples.

Here's an instruction idea sheet I made to go along with the download patterns. TIP: If you don't have a tool to score the fold lines you can use an empty pen to score if you place your card stock cushy surface like a mouse pad.

This one would be great for a birthday gift. I used our 99 cent Pink Rosebud Printable Paper which comes with a cute stripe page as well. The added a rose from our Mini Vintage  Scraps to the little glass charm.

I printed the damask pattern on plain white card stock for this one and then sprayed it with different autumn colors of Glimmer Mist.  Too bad the photos don't show the gold sparkle. I cut the tags from our Sew Nice Creative Scraps

This one was printed with the blank pattern on paper from our CD 4 Creating With Vintage Halloween.  That's an old earring glued on the flap. You can often find bit and pieces of old jewelry for a great deal at little thrift stores

I need to finish making the red and green pages I printed as Christmas Boxes but can you see how easy it is to change the mood and theme by changing just the color of card stock

My youngest daughter Chelsea stayed overnight and used my computer all day Friday to create the printed items she needs for her big event tonight to raise money for Paul's Club, a center for people with early onset dementia. She is the Program Director and helps run the club with  the 2 founders Nita and Micheal who have a family member in the UK afflicted by the disease and saw how there were no programs for people under 60.

They are holding a fund raiser in Vancouver  tomorrow night at Frankies Italian Kitchen and Bar and if there is any chance you are local and can make it they have amazing raffle prizes, a silent auction and all the money goes to keep the center open. Tickets are $20.00  http://www.paulsclub-firstbirthday.eventbrite.ca

After making these samples I thought it would be very cool to have the blank box pattern be a transparent PNG File so you can place it over photographs, print it and cut around the box shape! I've never made a transparent PNG File but I will figure it out, change the download this weekend and email the PNG file to anyone who has ordered.

I thought these were easy and fun to create and my head is swimming with ideas!  I would love to hear what you think?

Also Show News - We will have a booth at the Creating Keepsakes Show in WA Nov 8 and 9/13 and at the Funky Junk Sister's Show in Puyallup WA Nov 15 and 16/13 and I'm bringing a bunch of old postcards, greeting cards, sheet music, antique books and ephemera to both shows - as well as all our sale items like stamps, booklets, scraps and more!  At the Funky Junk Show I will also be selling a bunch of display pieces. My goal is to sell all our stock and focus on Digital downloads and Vintage CD's. If anyone is interested in buying in discount quantity please contact me!

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!
Sandy

Here's a mini album I made with our Wood File Folder Album which we found more of and they are on Clearance Sale for $2.99 and Hardware Stickers and Christmas Stickers were used on it.  I'm the little blonde on Santa's lap with my sisters. Paper is from our Radiant Digital Collection.

Here's the third Album in the Giveaway a Garden Gate Album for $5.50 by Tattered Angels.  I bought over 600 of these albums when Tattered Angels discontinued them because I like them so much! On Clearance Sale for $5.50 (can't go lower as they are bulky to ship) reg $12.99.

This Accordion Album was decorated with baby paper Baby Chenille Paper  or see this Pink Rosebud  99 cent printable paper and our Baby Girl Stickers.  We only have the Natural Accordion Albums in Stock Now

Check out this cute Candy Boot that DT Member Michele Kovack made and embellished with a label from our Halloween Label Digital Stamp Set

Here's a classy tone on tone Halloween card DT Member Rebekah Fairies created using paper and images from CD #4.Love the way she added the broom.

Digital teacher and DT Member Sheila Rumney has created a new step by step Fun Tutorial Showing how to use the Shape Tool in Photoshop Elements

Here's a great Christmas card by DT Member Darlene Pavlick using a page from our Christmas Image Booklet .  Look how she's used the framed journal part of the page up and tucked it behind the Santa image as an accent piece.

Lastly, I will leave you with this clever Christmas card by DT Member Elizabeth Lincoln who placed 2 of the children from our Winter Wishes Digital Set (included in our giveaway) behind a die cut window. On the actual design they are peering over a table.  I love the way she used yellow in the background to 'light up' the room and she made the green bough over the window using holly on CD 6, Creating With Vintage Christmas!

Don't forget to enter our Jumbo Christmas Giveaway - just leave a comment and tell me if you like Vintage Christmas, or what new theme you want to see?  I've been working on a Digital French Kit and what about  some Downton Abbey Fashion Ladies, or a High Tea Digital Set with fancy china and silverware?

My Autumn Tree Tutorial, Fall and Halloween Ideas, Linky Winner!

Hi Everyone,

It’s Thanksgiving here in Canada today, so Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian readers! I always feel like it comes too early as it’s still sunny and I have patio flowers. I wanted more Fall décor so I made a Autumn tree using 2 branches I taped together with hubby’s hockey tape but duct tape would work.

Now I have something to go with the Luminary Lanterns I made last week. I used a glue gun to add leaves and flowers to the branches from CD 3,Creating With Vintage Topography and have a little tutorial below for you plus more fun samples by our DT Ladies, a great Tutorial by Sheila Rumney and our Linky Winner!

Congrats to random.org winner #6 KT Fit Kitty for her lovely bird card, one of 3 she created using our Bird Notes (now a $5.95 digital stamp set) as the clear set has sold out but images are larger!

You can see some great samples entered in our Linky Party and a big thank you to everyone who entered! I must give an honorable mention to Chrissie from Australia who created a fabulous Mini Pocket Album using a mix of our Sewing Ephemera following DT Member Darlene Pavlick's Pocket Album Tutorial - and Chrissie also made a You Tube Album Video showing all of her pages!

Okay let me show you how I made my Autumn Tree as it was easy and would work for a wreath, swag or branch over a window. I wanted different size leaves and flowers and remembered we have some on our CD #3. You can see they are a cool design by our designer Cindy van Koll with a mix of text and funky outlines.

Don't look at the scary pumpkins! I did their faces using a sharpie.

The 2 leaves and flower I used are on CD 3 in the PNG Folder.  Many PNG files look like jpg files but the images are cut out and just have a white background. You can layer PNG Files and this link goes to my post listing the most popular digital programs you can use and many are free.

First you need to open a blank page to add all the images to. I used Photoshop Elements but you can also copy and paste images using Windows

You may as well fill your page with as many leaves and flowers as you can.

Here is my page with the 2 leaves and flower in various sizes. Yep, you do need to cut them out but I did it while I watched Grey's Anatomy.

I used a jug and wedged a tea towel to hold the branches upright while I glued leaves on. On my  my Halloween lanterns  post I showed the different images for the 4 clear glass sides.  I have the fun Halloween witch ladies page I made on the opposite side of our family photo.

I also have short Tutorial for you by Sheila Rumney if you want to learn how to add text to a page for a card or scrapbook layout using Photoshop Elements.

Here's a fun Halloween card that DT memeber Darlene Pavlick created using our Halloween CD

I adore the Thanksgiving card and matching lined envelope that DT Member Kathy Clement made with our .75 cent Autumn Cuts and Digital Thanksgiving Download

DT Member Rebekah Faries made place cards for her family dinner using the Halloween CD and she hand stitched little leaves

I love this Thanksgiving layout and beautiful greeting cards DT Leader Vicki Chrisman created last year using our Thanksgiving Download.

Lastly I wanted to share this fun pumpkin idea for stuffed peppers by Wing It Vegan. You could also add a baggie with veggie dip to the pepper.   She also has a big list of more fun Halloween theme food.

I will be back later this week with something new!

Wishing you joy and creativity
Sandy
