Welcome and Please Join in Our Crafty Secrets 1st Linky Party!

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to our 1st Monthly Heartwarming Vintage Linky Party where YOU can link up your latest creation or a past favorite using any Crafty Secrets product (our stamps, an image, paper from our CD’s, etc).  I want this to be a friendly way to share your creations and find some inspiration so don’t be shy – come show us what you’ve made with our stuff!

The Party runs all week  until 12 midnight April 8/12 and you can add up to 4 projects. A random $50.00 Gift Prize Winner will be posted the following Monday.

I will start off each Party with some samples and then scroll down to see the Linky Gallery.  If you see something that looks interesting please click on the thumbnail photo and it will take you to the creator’s blog, gallery or website which will include the details and possibly more photos.  Note: #1 Vicki has a Great Giveaway!

HERE ARE THE SIMPLE RULES:
1. Sample must use some type of Crafty Secrets product.
2. Photo added must link to a Blog, Website or Online Gallery
2. No links to Etsy Stores or Shopping Carts please

When you link up your sample, I would very grateful if you can link back to our blog if possible. Cindy made this cute linky button to help spread the word about our Heartwarming Vintage Linky Parties and hopefully encourage others link up and share their ideas and samples using our products!

I got crafty and played with Shrink Plastic and our Clear Art Stamps to create some embellishments and I also used some paper and images off CD #2, Creating with Vintage Illustrations to make some cuff bracelets and some mini seed packets.

I have clear sheets, so to make the ink adhere I sanded the sheet with a emery board and then added a quick coat of ivory paint with a sponge brush. It was easy to stamp and cut images out. I turned my toaster oven to 325 degrees and it works fast.  They curl up and flatten again with the heat and you can pop them back in if you want to re-bend or flatten a piece more.

This was my attempt at a couple of cuff bracelets.  I stamped the butterfly, bird, heart and little swirls from Cupcake Party Stamps on shrink plastic I had painted ivory. Colored stamps with chalks and mini pom-poms on a clip. Cupcake Party is on clearance for $14.99 so we can change the curve to a damask border.  For bracelet #2 I copied a piece of paper from CD #2 on shrink plastic (lightly sanded and painted first).  I just cut a long strip with decorative scissors to shrink. Later used a Sakura Glitter Gel Pen (new item) but the lighting was bad so the photo doesn't show off the sparkle.

I messed up on my last project as my emery board was so dull from sanding the sheets  the paint went on streaky, so I did a second coat of paint and photocopied the color page but popped it in the oven before it dried well.  If you click on the photo you can see how the paint went a bit weird under the images.  Lesson - be more patient next time.

These are the papers I used from CD 2 for my bracelet and garden tags.  I set my printer for matte photo paper and always use NO-Name Ink (compatible for my Canon printer) from the Ink Farm.  Sorry Canon - but real ink can be pricey.
Okay, now check out these fabulous shrinky altered Domino Books by Sarah Hempill who inspired me to try Shrink Plastic when she created this mini Sewing Album and adorable  Recipe Book for Vicki and myself last year.

I'm also showing DT Member Michele Kovack's latest card she created with our new All Dolled Up Set.  Michele stamped the full doll and the little artist outfit for her to wear and colored them with Copic Markers.  I love the little paint brushes, bow and lace she added!

If you have never joined a Linky Party and want instructions, see these helpful step by step tips by Ashley at MommyByDayCrafterByNight!

I hope you will join in the fun!

I love the shrinky dinks! You just stamped with regular stamping inks, cut out, and heated? Sounds so easy. Please tell me it is.

I enjoy the children. I want to squeeze their cheeks. I love shrinky dinks. I stamp with anything child's theme and put the results on children's cards for the hospital.

Hello to all visitors, thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment as we really appreciate your feedback and thoughts and I know any people who submitted samples also will! I will try and find your emails and contact those with questions but to help others I'm posting here as well. You can currently enter Giveaways on DT Leader Vicki Chrisman and Lucy from the Craftberry Bush Blog's and see links in the last 2 posts. We have the current April Linky Party but you need to post a sample to be entered to win. Yes - the Shrink Plastic sheets were easier than I expected and I stamped and photocopied on the sheets, but as I explained in my post we have Clear sheets and to make the ink or colored images stick I had to lightly sand & paint the sheets (or you could use Stazon ink (but clean your stamps right away and don't use their harsh solvent based cleaner). It was easy to cut out and punch the images and then they get tiny, super hard and thick when baked. Perfect for miniature projects. I will post more tips ASAP!

Great samples, Sandy. I remember playing with Shrinky Dinks when I was young. Looks like it's time to "play" again!

I am so glad to see you starting this monthly get-together!! It was such a busy week for me, I was only able to post a "has been" sort of project, but I am really looking forward to next month's party and a good excuse to come up with something fresh and new. Really enjoyed seeing what everyone else is doing with your products!! Thanks again for the opportunity!!
