Beautiful Love Mail Samples, Spring Challenge at Splitcoast, GASC TX Show Classes!

Hi Everyone,

I have a bunch of pretty samples and links to share with you today - plus I'm doing a SEPARATE post tomorrow with Watercolor Cards & Tips by our April Guest Designer Sophie La Fontaine!  I couldn't fit it all in here

Look at this beautiful shabby shadow box DT leader Vicki Chrisman created using one of the images from our new Love Mail Creative Scraps. You can get all the Details HERE on Vicki's Blog and also enter her Giveaway HERE. Plus, I have photos and links at the end of this post to both Classes Vicki is teaching at the Great American Scrapbook Convention in TX!

It's easy to tell everyone loves this image and sentiment from the Love Mail Scraps as DT Member Linda Duke also used it to create this super pretty card along with the bird and flourish from our Birdies Clear Art Stamp set.  You can get all the details and complete supply list HERE on Linda's Blog.

Look at this stylish sample DT member Michele Kovack created using one of the journal circles from the inside of the Love Mail Creative Scraps along with other papers and a gorgeous rose. You can get details HERE on Michele's Blog

I love the way DT Member Melissa Phillips added the pom pom trim and bows to our 'Thinking of You' image from our Love Mail Scraps and the depth it created when she added her pocket. Get all the details HERE on Melissa's Blog

Here is a sweet layout and story by DT member Julie Campbell about her Great Grandmother being asked to marry by a local 'farmer'.  Julie writes about her grandmother's decision and thoughts taken from old letters and she used images from our new Love Scraps to honor their story. See details HERE on Julie's Blog.

Lori Lynn Wasburn is hosting the challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers this week and all she asked is you use something from our Crafty Secrets products to play along with a 'Spring Theme'. Look at this great card she created using one of the birds and mini tickets from our Altered Fairy Scraps.  Her stamped sentiment is from our Bird Lovers set. Info HERE and see the Gallery HERE.

We will be back at the Great American Scrapbook Show in TX again this June and I'm thrilled to say DT leader Vicki Chrisman will be helping us and teaching 2 classes!  Registration is open now HERE. I adore Vicki's Go Vintage Recipe Book, June 2, 12-1:30

Click HERE and scroll down to get details on Vicki's Go Vintage With Alice class, Fri, June 3, 12-1:30. This class also includes our unreleased CD, Creating with Vintage Patterns!

Here are some photos from our last 2 shows.  I took this one in Portland, OR and it was a really fun show again this year.  We met and made so many new friends!

Here is photo of Thanh and I this past weekend at the BC Sewing & Craft Show, seconds before we began ripping the booth apart. Many thanks to her and Odessa for their help.

I almost forgot, I copied the 2 winners names from the Moxie Blog Fab Stamp of Approval and there were 336 entries with so many wonderful comments it made us teary eyed!

Beth said ...The stamps are all great, with the beautiful details. I particularly like the sunflower set - I always try and grow a few and I can see it now on the front of my garden journal. I'm already thinking about using the sewing stamps for homemade sewing sets for my nieces.  BETH I HOPE YOU SEE THIS and contact Cath. See details HERE.

Copic Creations DT Fav Technique Challenge & April DT Guest Sophie LaFontaine

Hi Everyone,

Today the Copic Challenge Design Team ladies are featuring our Clear Arts Stamps using their favorite technique! We also have a new DT Guest this month, Sophie LaFontaine! Many thanks to our March DT Guest Tammy Roberts for all her fabulous creations!

I'm excited to see what the Copic DT ladies have created and what stamp sets and techniques they have used. Their designers include Asela Hopkins, Heather Gilfoy Bond, Jami Bova, Jodi-Anne Lee, Karen Witter, Katie Cotton, Lillian Tan, Mary Giema, Rose Crawford and Suzanne Dean. HERE is the link to the Copic Blog! Scroll down to see samples and click on each ladies name to get all the details on their blogs. You can also enter the Copic Favorite Technique Challenge we are sponsoring on their blog and win a $50.00 gift certificate! See rules & details.

If you missed my post yesterday here is the link to the Moxie Fab Giveaway for our Farm Chicks, Artsy Banners, Photo Studio, Sew Special, Sunflower and Mini Memories Clear Art Stamp Sets!

I also have a few cards our Guest Designer this month Sophie LaFontaine colored with Copic Markers you can see below.
From Sophie: When I was very young, my parents gave me lots of paper, pens, and pencils. It started a lifelong habit of drawing and colouring.  In later years, I discovered rubber stamps to my great delight.  I greatly preferred colouring to drawing, so they were perfect for me.  I could skip the drawing and go straight to the colouring!  Fast-forward to just a couple of years ago when I discovered CLEAR stamps and eventually, Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps!  My sister and brother-in-law then changed my card-making life by having an adorable baby Luke and then a couple of years later, an adorable baby Melody!  I started making cards for them when my little niece became a little toddler.  Now my nephew is six and my niece is four, and have been joined by an adorable baby Michael!  So now I happily spend nearly all of my free time making cards for the three of them!

Sophie usually uses watercolors to color her cards and she was worried these ones she sent me she colored with Copic Markerswouldn’t be good enough for me to show. Silly lady!
She says she cheated on the sky and sponged both with blue ink because she still doesn't know how to cover large areas using Copics without streak marks.

She used our Little Girls set and flower basket, chick and sentiment from the Easter Joy set on this card

On this card the Little Boys and Easter Joy sets

Sophie created this birthday card for her husband who loves comic book art. Clear Art Stamps used: Story of MeSweet Kids (sentiment),  Artsy Banners (music background), Office 101 ("important" clip).  Sponged antique and orange ink to distress it. Coloured the boy and his books with Copics.

Here is a link to Sophie's Gallery at Splitcoast Stampers which includes several samples using our stamp sets. I LOVE the way she mixes up the sets to create such fun combinations! As a guest she received free stamps and she has sent me so many fantastic new cards I will be showing you an inspiring variety with each post this month.

We are off to the first day of the Sewing & Craft Show at the Tradex in Abbotsford BC. If you live close by, come see us! We have packed our 10 x 20' booth full of everything including tons of samples by our talented Design Team! We even have 3D Shadow Box Kits back in stock, a Flea Market Table and a $1.00 Make & Take today and tomorrow at the Canadian Scrapbook Magazine Scrapbook Carnival Booth - plus a free gift with every first purchase over $15.00.

PS - I will be posting details soon about our 2 classes at the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington Texas June that DT Leader Vicki Chrisman is teaching.

Wishing you joy & creativity!

Great New Samples, Mixed Media Art & Coupon for Portland CK Show

Hi Everyone,   *** We still haven't been able to contact winners DT Hop Winners Gretchen Wilson (from Starla Nelson's Blog), Danielle Therese Greenwood (winner from our blog). They can each pick any Medium Stamp set and any 2 sheets of Creative Scraps and email us their address.

Look at this adorable card our March DT Guest Tammy Roberts created using an image from our Sew Nice Creative Scraps and Sew Special Clear Art Stamp Set. Love how she stamped the scissors and cut them out and stamped the safety pin. The sentiment is from our Couple of Cuties set.

Tammy used one of the sentiments and the pincushion from the Sew Special set to stamp on felt to create this cool little real pincushion. The pretty stick pins, flowers, lace, charm and little zipper head she stitched on make this 'sew special'!

Everyone loves using this image from our Love Mail Scraps and I know it's because Cindy van Koll, our graphic designer did such a fantastic job of building it! I've wanted to use this expression for ages but I needed the perfect birdies, nest and font and Cindy put them together so perfectly in this frame it makes it easy to create a beautiful sample like this one Tammy did. Wouldn't this make a wonderful mini book cover for a journal?

Here's one more that Tammy did using the Love Scraps and stamps are from our Artsy Banner set. I'm not sure if she used a blank postcard from our Postcard kits or the new larger Spellbinders die?

Now that Spring has arrived I think I will post a bunch of Easter and Spring theme samples over the next couple of weeks. Please tell me if there is anything else you would like to see or challenges you would like our DT ladies to try in future?

Look at this pretty card DT Member Julie Campbell created using the chicks from our Seasonal Calendar Scraps. You can see more photos and  another lovely card HERE on Julie's Blog.

Angie, the owner of Scrapscene took some art classes with Christy Tomlinson and Emily Falconbridge on the weekend and created some fabulous mixed media art. She posted it all HERE on Scrapscene yesterday with links and said she loved using our Artsy Banner Clear Art Stamp set to embellish with! You can see the script stamp across the dress, Text, No., and the mini scallop border on her page.

If you live in the Portland area we would love to see you at the Creating Keepsakes Show this weekend and I have a $3.00 off coupon you can print. We also have free gifts with a first purchase over $15.00, lots of samples by our talented DT ladies and a Flea Market table! If you are reading this and you want to help us set up tomorrow for free product or cash - please call our cell 604 617-3055 or office 1-888 597-8898.  My husband Scott does not love set up and I want it to be as painless as possible!

Okay, now I have someone fun to tell you about!  Sophie La Fontaine is our Guest Designer next month for April and I'm saving a bunch of her fantastic new cards - but I wanted to show you some others she's already posted. She colors her stamp with watercolors or Copics and loves to combine stamp sets to create fun cards for her grandchildren and she often draws her own extra details.

This is a new card Sophie recently posted in her gallery at Splitcoaststampers.com that I thought was perfect for the 2 day of Spring! Sophie used a mouse from our Mouse Party set, watering can is from Garden Girls and sentiment from Thinking of You set. She painted the flower stems, sky and grass and added cute layered flowers.  PS - If you click on the stamp set blue links you can see other samples by our Design Team as well!

With Easter around the corner, I wanted to show you this card Sophie created last Easter with the Peter Rabbit bunnies from our Easter Joys Stamp Set. Okay, she's a talented watercolor painter but her simple whimsical scenes makes me want to try!

I like how she used a bunch of stamps from our Down of the Farm Stamp Set to create a race scene (to the car races). She used YIPPEE and the 'grass stamp' but drew the sign.

Look at how Sophie combined our Bugs Life Stamp Set with our Car Classics Set! , the compass and  'Postcard' from our Journey Set and Lily of the Valley is from our Fairyland Stamp Set on this fun card and added dots to the bug's car!
Here's another card Sophie made for her grandson also using Bug's Life and Car Classics and she stamped the flourish from our Cherubs set. She drew the branch and sign. You can see Sophie's Gallery HERE with other amazing samples.

I wanted to show more photos from our trip to the Craft & Antique Show in Lynden, WA but most turned out too dark.  A few people were selling plants and I bought some of the bright green ones. I do love aged pots and wanted to share an  recipe HERE for how to age clay pots with yogurt or buttermilk.

I loved these wonderful aprons by Tracy but decided to stick with my floral vintage one. Her website http://www.parkercourtdesigns.com/ isn't finished yet.

I wished there were more antiques so later we went to a couple of the antique malls and shops in this cute Dutch theme town started in the 1870's.

One of my favorite stores in town was Once Upon a Fairyland, owned by Jaqueline who coincidentally called us last month for wholesale info and is going to place an order. She has a great mix of new and shabby used items with some fun quirky stuff. Link to her website

Cute little bunny dolls she had!

I adore these cute little girls dresses and they were only $20.00. Hey ladies, remember you can stamp on fabric with stamps! Use Ranger Archival ink and heat set it. I don't like Stazon for clear stamps. It has solvents in the ink and it really does 'stay on' and can fill in detail if you don't clean your stamps well. I would stay clear of Stazon Cleaner as it has even higher amounts of solvent. If you want to use Stazon ink to stamp on a slick surface like glass, be sure to stamp off on paper towels right and clean your stamp with a soft toothbrush. Past DT member Anna Wight uses Stazon regularly and says she never has a problem.

I fell in LOVE with the original old tin ceiling in the store and wanted to bring it home! Look how it's curved and goes down the wall. This is a photo of owner Jaqueline and a vendor she buys Chatty Cathy doll clothes from.

Lastly, I will leave you with a sweet card by March DT Guest Tammy Roberts that she created with an image from our Little Dolls Booklet. I have some other wonderful samples posted this month by Tammy and will have at least one more post after we get back from the Creating Keepsakes Show this weekend!  Come see us at the show, as we are bringing EVERYTHING and will have a Flea Market Sale Table, Tons of inspiring samples and fun!

Wishing you joy & creativity
