We Have a Winner, See Extra Christmas Added

Hi Everyone,

For our Dec Linky Party  we have the $50.00 Gift Certificate winner# 18 Kristen and everyone else won a $5.00 GC they can use in our online store www.craftyvintagegirl.com  There were some fantastic samples people added to our Dec Linky Party you can see if you missed them.
Here are the finished covers for our Retro Christmas CD and see the Vintage Christmas CD below.
As I explained in a previous post my CD manufacture was too overloaded to print them in time so we are burning the CD's here for those who want a CD but many people have ordered the download with the Papers and the Image & Ephemera

We were in the 'Christmas Zone' and couldn't stop making files so these are bonus files for the Retro Images & Ephemera Download, and they are also on the CD.   If somehow you didn't get these bonus images please contact us.

The sheet below shows the bonus files for the Retro Images & Ephemera Download, and they are also on the CD.

Here is a great 3D card Vicki created using the Retro Papers and Digital Images & Ephemera

DT Member Darlene Pavlick used a tag from the Retro on this stunning card she made.   This tag looks more 'vintage' than 'retro' but it's so pretty!

Kitika from Russia won a gift certificate a couple of months ago and she was sweet and recently emailed me photos of these samples she created. She used our Christmas Retro Scraps on this card on sale for $1.00!

She used our Love Mail Creative Scraps on this card and it turned our so pretty

We've started working on turning our 'Valentine download into a Valentine-Love CD so it will be ready nice and early.  When I was cleaning up I came across this stunning bird in an old lettering book I have.  Rather than keep it until next year I decided to release tomorrow with 2 other smaller birds in gift tag size.  He's big 7 x 10" and would make a great piece of Christmas wall art and will only be the price of a small Digital Art Stamp Set $3.95.
UPDATE:  Ooops - I should keep my big mouth shut until we finish  as I realized today we can also make the large bird work for birthdays.  I'm cutting apart some of the letters so one can say Best Wishes for a Happy Birthday but due to the size and the other smaller bird cards included it will be $4.95

Vintage Christmas Samples, Tutorials

Hi Everyone,

I'm back with some more great Christmas samples and tutorials to show you.  DT Member Darlene Pavlick has been busy creating holidays albums and planners. Look at this stunning Christmas Album she created and she has a tutorial on her blog showing how she recycled cardstock packaging and cut the 'peek-a-boo pages.

Darlene used our Vintage Christmas Printable Papers  and the Image & Ephemera  Download.  You get a $2.00 refund at check out if you purchase both.  We are  burning the CD's for our Retro and Vintage Collections as the manufacture is swamped.  They don't have fancy CD labels but they do have amazing designs, preview sheets and samples as usual.

Here's the back cover

Darlene also made 10 planners for everyone in her family using the Vintage Christmas Papers.  They look impressive all lined up here on her Blog.  She also has another tutorial on how she created her Winter Birds Tablet here.

We recently added some adorable paper Christmas Dolls to our new online store for $2.95 for 3 sheets.  (Sorry, we can't add digital items to our Shopatron Store). Look at these cute goody packages Darlene made up and attached one the little dolls to all of them

DT Member Rebekah Fairies did a tutorial on how she made 3D pinecones using our Christmas Digital

DT Leader Vicki Chrisman created this cute wall art piece by using the patchwork paper and other designs from our Retro Paper Download

Hey - don't forget to check out our Dec Linky Party that runs until this Sunday night and consider posting any sample you have created with our products and be entered to win the $50.00 random.org draw.  Every person entering will recieve a $5.00 gift certificate for our www.craftyvintagegirl.com  store

PS - If you want to see a great movie go see Life of Pi  in 3D.  It was amazing from the story, photography, music, the animals, it's my favorite movie this year. Here are some reviews on Rotten Tomatoes

Have a fabulous weekend!

Part 2 of Vintage Calendars With 25 Samples & New Items!

Hi Everyone,

I'm back with over 25 vintage calendar ideas and samples created with our 2 Free Printable Calendars (posted yesterday) and vintage image products to inspire you!  You can see my post yesterday with some of my antique calendars and both of our 2013 Calendars and a December month title.  Scroll to end to see NEW Items added to our Store!

We all need Calendars and many people also use a Day Timer or Planner to keep track of stuff.  The really nice ones are expensive so why not make your own and decorate it with images, photos and colors you like.  Mini calendars are perfect to sit on a desk or telephone table. Past DT Member Marissa Grosson created this holiday planner using a inside piece of our Christmas Creative Scraps to glue on our Wood Clipboard Album Covers (on sale $1.95).
There are also similar papers on our Vintage Christmas Paper Download for $7.95

Our Vintage Christmas and the Retro Christmas Downloads are a hit!  We got obsessed and couldn't stop making more files so I'm going to be sending you some extra new files if you ordered the either the Papers or Images & Ephemera in the Retro Papers or Vintage Christmas Sets.  Speaking of calendars - below are 2 printable 8.5 x 11" pages on the Vintage Christmas Images & Ephemera Download. There is also a red advent number sheet on Retro Christmas.

You can't do digital orders in our Shopatron Store but you can order either of the Christmas CD's from our Shopatron, Etsy and our Crafty Vintage Girl Store (I just need to come back and add the links to Etsy & Shopatron Stores ).  They are on Special for $15.95 as they won't have the fancy label or inside cover printed but they are each crammed full of fabulous papers, images and ephemera with some samples for ideas!

The weekly calendar page below is included on our CD 3, Creating With Vintage Typography

This is a planner by DT Leader Vicki Chrisman decorated with paper and images from        CD 2, Creating With Vintage Illustrations.

I collect these old weekly calendars for the beautiful hand lettered quotes and wanted to show you this one from 1915 which is filled with fun to read little penciled notes. She must have been a seamstress and wrote what she charged for alterations.

Past DT Member Pam Hooten used a 3D Shadow Box Frame from the Die Vicki Chrisman designed for AccuCut to hold our printable calendar. You could add photos to the sides and it would make a great gift.

Past DT Member Jan Hennings designed this cute but functional Envelope Coupon Calendar using printable papers from our CD #1 Creating With Vintage Patterns and our free calendar download sheet.

Past DT Member Mary Hamer created this cool desk planner using our Seasonal Scraps. The calendar shown  below is the style of our other printable 2013 calendar

Calendar Fans use to be a popular advertising incentive that started in the 1800's and a few years ago Traci from AccuCut made this cute fan calendar using their Fan Die with images from our Seasonal Booklet.
Ok, click the sample below to see it large as Past DT member Linda Duke created these awesome calendar pages back in 2008 using a variety of products. It's great that vintage doesn't go out of style.  She used our Kitchen Classics Stamps which are now a Download with 30 stamps and only $9.95

Pam Hooten used our Little Girls Chipboard outfit to attach her calendar

DT Leader Vicki Chrisman used the Calendar Scraps to create this fun Photo Calendar Album. They are the ones on sale for $1.50 and match one of our free printable calendars

Here a old project sheet using a plastic CD case, images from our Seasonal Image Booklet and our printable calendar.  I just updated the info as the CD cases that flip back easel style are harder to find but you can add some magnetic tape and stick it on your fridge and just change out the card each month.

The following are a bunch of fun cards designed with the mini calendars.  The months work great for seasonal cards and for events like birthdays. Many are older samples but are fun to have altogether here in 1 post. Linda Duke made this New Years card with image from Seasonal Booklet.
Past DT Member Melissa Phillips used the Creative Scraps for her New Years card

                                             Easter card by Heidi Blakenship

Fun Halloween card by Pam Hooten using Seasonal Scraps and Halloween Stamps

This is a montly planner page on our Halloween CD #4

Christmas card by Melissa Phillips.  The little girls are off our

Birthday card by Pam Hooten using our Girlfriend Creative Scraps on sale $2.50

I love this idea Pam Hooten had to cut the months from the calendar and staple them together to make a 'check you girls' once a month. She used the image of the French ladies in our Girlfriends Image Booklet with them looking down their tops.  She used our Support the Girls Stamp Set and a Square piece of coaster board  - which we have on Special for .5o cents each!

This is probably the longest post I've ever done! I want to have this Blog moved to our website  and was told we may loose some older posts in the transfer so at least there are a bunch updated here now.   You can get our 2 Printable Calendars from my post yesterday

Vintage Calendar Ideas, Free 2013 Printable Calendars! Part 1

Hi Everyone,  DEC 2013 UPDATE: I came back and added links below to our 2014 Vintage Printable Calendars in Hi Resolution PDF files as they retain the 300 dpi quality which the jpg picture images don't.

I have a bunch of inspiring calendar samples and ideas to show you today, downloads for our 2 new 2013 Calendars and some photos from my collection of antique calendars so pull up a chair as there is much to see!  I'm going to divide this into 2 posts.

First, this is a decorative December page title from an antique book I thought you might enjoy. The lettering is my favorite part and it would be lovely printed on cream card stock with some faux snow and glitter added.

I love old calendars and I've been collecting them for years. In the mid 1800's advertising and premium calendars began to grow in popularity as lithographic printing improved and there were some amazing printing being done with fancy embossing and intricate die cut edges. Check out this 3D calendar I recently got and you can see how the 'doors' opened and 2 ladies came out on bicycles. Love the pansies!

This was a fold out calendar you received for getting an annual magazine subscription. You could pop in family photos

Many calendars were elaborate with dials and movable parts. I love the colors and embossed edges on the calendar below which hangs in my office.  You can turn the big round dial on the back to show the 4 seasons through the pie shaped window.  It's a year at a glance calendar which are so handy. I adore the quote:
Month by month, and day by day, as the year speeds on it's way, May he brightest joys unfold, And when all the hours are told and he silently departs, With Happy memories fill our hearts

This is one of my favorite frames and one that I plan on offering as a kit. It has 3 big frames and I love the birds on the other 2 pages just not these cover birds so much as their faces are so dark. You could just glue new months on each year

We started giving away a free printable calendar back in 2008 to go with our vintage images so people could create their own special calendars.  I made this birthday calendar card a few years ago for a dear friend who use to be a hair dresser and I knew would get a kick out it.  The image is from our Childhood Booklet on sale for $4.99. I cut out and stapled the remaining 6 months of the year together, highlighted her birthday and used a combo of our stamps and a Stardust Gelly Roll Pen to add some sparkle.  Our Calendars have gotten nicer.

I usually give Cindy our graphic designer a few old calendars to scan and she uses bits and pieces  to create with.  Our Seasonal Scraps below were super popular but they were re-printed in 2010 and not all the months work now so they are on clearance for $1.25 and fold out to 18" long.  Cindy created the free printable matching calendar so so people could still use all the colored images and month titles on this double sided sheet.
Here's one of our Free 2013 Printable Calendars designed to match the Seasonal sheet above.  Just left click on it a couple of times to make it as large as possible, then right click to save to a picture gallery. Here's a link to a higher quality PDF file for our 2014 Calendar 2 Style.  We now also have a B/W version with ideas on our Blog

A few months from the Seasonal Calendar Scraps were used this altered Winter board that DT Leader Vicki Chrisman  designed using little girls from our Christmas Image & Journal Noted Booklets

Here are 2 cards DT Member Michele Kovack created using the other style calendar below.

This calendar is a more traditional box style and can be printed on paper or card stock.  NoTE: Here's a link to a high quality PDF File of this 2014 Calendar 1 Style as the picture jpg below can't keep the 300 dpi resolution.  Plus - we also now have these in B/W 2014  Calendars with easy and fun ideas

Here's a Idea Project sheet I made up showing the desk calendar DT Leader Vicki Chrisman created using our Calendar Scraps sheet I showed earlier and our Chipboard Shapes.  You only need 1 shape 0n sale for 95 cents and just cut it in half to uise as covers and a template to trace inside pages on cardstock.  When Vicki used all 12 colored months on the inside she couldn't use the mini calendars on the opposite side so she used our printable calendar above. Our Calendar Scraps are on sale for $1.50 as the calendar is outdated but you can use either of the 2 printable versions in this post.

Here is the Day 2 link to this post with 25 calendar samples and another project sheet!

Be sure to check out our DT Challenge and December Linky Party

also see our NEW Retro Christmas and and Vintage Christmas Downloads!
