Hi Everyone,
As many of you know we live in Canada and have a tiny warehouse we rent in the USA. We store extra stock at another warehouse as our place is so small and I found some great stuff like a case of 244 Mini Vintage Hangers and more Mini Embossed Frames from Tattered Angels discontinued ivory chipboard! Everyone loves these cute hangers as the clips are adjustable and you can hang anything from photos, mini wall art, give as a gift with a card attached, or use with our Chipboard Outfits for extra cuteness!
Here's a photo of the Embossed Chipboard frames below that DT Leader Vicki Chrisman created for a make-n-take at the Great American Scrapbook Convention last year using a mix of our Birds & Blossoms and Vintage Photo Creative Scraps. The ivory chipboard is sprayed with Glimmer Mist and the 3D embossing really pops when you use a sponge to add a little brown ink to antique with. We split up the big packages and sell the frames in 12 packs for $2.95. and the Alphabet set with 36 letters & inner frames for $1.95 (because most people don't care about the alpha part).
When Tattered Angels discontinued a bunch of great products that worked well with our images I bought a full skid load mainly of their albums because I love the ivory color. We still have some left but they have been super popular. I bought over 500 of the Garden Albums as it's my fav and you can see a sample album Vicki created here and how the pages pull open. The embossed frame she used isn't included but they will work for any theme and Garden Albums are only $5.75. You can see other limited chipboard stock here.
I also found some packages of Tattered Angels Mistable Printed Crepe Ribbons. You can custom color this printed crepe paper with their Glimmer Mist and then form it into ruffles, bows, flowers and garlands to add to your creations. Each package includes two 2" wide x 20" long pieces in 4 unique designs. Regularly $6.49, on sale for $3.25
We also found some Earthy Pads! These were the most popular seller and have been sold out for over a year but we found 2 cases that had been labeled wrong. Regular $9.95, sale $7.95
We also found some some Divine Alphabet Booklets and for $1.95 they are a great deal!
Look at this sweet card DT Member Pam Hooten created using a journal notes paper from CD #2 and the Thanks a bunch sentiment from Sweet Kids Stamp set
You can see each page in detail of this great calendar Vicki created when she used all the large images from our Calendar Scraps and then couldn't use the small text calendar on the opposite side - so she used our free one. You can see other great DT Calendar projects Here!
We are still including a free gift with orders, which gets better the bigger the order but always a gift!
I will be back this Thurs with a cool stamping tutorial I think you will love - plus our agenda for 2012!

It always made me feel better when one of my kids gave me a hug and said "I love you, mommy." Or when I had laryngitis, and my students whispered, too. So funny!
ReplyDeleteThe best medicine to buy, though, is Nyquil. Knocks me out, and I always feel better the next day!
Here are my home remedies for when I have a cold: Drink hot tea with some honey and lemon stirred in; gargle with vinegar water instead of salt water, take some ibuprofen and drink lots of orange juice! I would love to win those Feeling Yucky stamps. I hope you will be feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteSorry that you aren't feeling so well!
ReplyDeleteAIRBORNE works!!!!!!!!! Even drug store brands. Even my na-say hubby takes it when he feels something coming on!
Thank for the giveaway!
Deb
use the netti pot to clear sinuses
ReplyDeletei use nyquil, chicken soup, sonic limeades and crackers. lots of rest, too.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you don't feel well Sandy. I know when I am feeling terrible, I like to drink hot tea, and egg drop soup. Something about the warmth makes me feel good, soothes my throat and opens my nasal passages. I also love to sit on the sofa all wrapped up in a blanket, and just rest, maybe watch a littel television. I sure hope you start to recover and get that pep back in your step.
ReplyDeleteElaine Allen
I tell you what always makes me feel better is a big swig of nyquil, snuggling down in a bunch of blankets and sleeping. works everytime!
ReplyDeleteOooh how exciting! Time to go shopping! The first thing I do when I feel a cold coming on is take a double dose of Emergen-C and repeat every few hours. Great if you add an Airborne tablet as well! I also take Yin Chiao, elderberry syrup, and Zicam. Regular sudafed doesn't work for me either but I swear by the 12 hour. When all else fails there's always a nice hot toddy! Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteAlkaselzer Cold plus works really well. I use the daytime and nighttime box. Hi hope you feel better really soon.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you have a bad cold...they're going around in Nova Scotia too!
ReplyDeleteI like hot liquids - orange spice tea, chicken noodle soup, and especially chinese hot and sour soup - the ginger and other spices clears my sinus' real quick!
A cool mist humidifier help too.
I can't take over the counter remedies so have to rely on natural ingredients, and let the cold run it's course.
Hope you feel better soon!
I've been fighting a head cold for over a week and I'm so sick of it! Mostly I just try to take it easy, but when my hubby's sick I make sure he's doped up with Nyquil or Dayquil. He works too hard to feel so miserable.
ReplyDeleteIt's a proven fact that chicken soup helps you get better fast. Soooo I make a big batch of my mom's chicken soup recipe and eat lots of it. It really does help you get through it faster and the warmth it gives you inside helps you relax better. Then if you need medicine to go along with it, take Airborne. It helps a lot too.
ReplyDeleteI find Musinex for Sinus helps a lot with the congestion & runny nose! They also have one for Coughs which has Dextromethorphane (sp)
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am still a big believer in good old Vicks!
I hope this helps!!! Get better soon!!!
debpaint16@aol.com
It always makes me feel better if I drink green or herbal teas and sit by the fireplace. Echinacea is always a helpful herb too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better real soon Sandy!! My favorite thing when I have a cold is a nice, hot cup of chamomile tea! Not only does it make me feel a little better but it also relaxes me! Feel better!!
ReplyDeleteI make me a pot of chicken soup with lots of garlic and hot red pepper, works every time. That is what I fix for everyone who comes around sick it really helps is what they all say. You have to eat any way why not soup. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I feel under the weather.......I use a nasal rinse... take a couple tylenols........good book and sleep!
ReplyDeleteAwww...so sorry your not feeling well! I have discovered Mucinex works wonders! And I still LOVE chicken soup whenever I am feeling under the weather! Feel better soon!

Sandy, Hope you feel better!!!!!! We've been dealing with the same thing here & the FLU! :/
ReplyDeleteTo FEEL BETTER: Chicken Noodle Soup & Rosemary Triscuits! Hot Tea, Hot Tea, Hot Tea! I like to have Earl Grey Green Tea, I think it's the BEST & add 2 T. of Orange Juice to that! Have it ANYTIME during the day! And of course, Sleep when you can! (Looks like you have ALOT of GOOD ADVICE so far!) Be Well!!!!!!!!! :)
Hi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you .. well here in Ontario, sitting in my easy chair.
My colds always go to bronchitis so I'm on antibiotics but, we're it not so, I would do the hot tea and lemon and chicken soup - as others have suggested.
Rest is really the ticket and if you have a puppy, as I do, have the soft coat and warm eyes near you. Love of the innocent can work wonders. 😉
May you find yourself well, again, in no time.
When I'm sick, my favorite feel better food is my husband's Chicken & Dumplings. He makes it just for me and it always lifts my spirits and makes me feel so much better.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love taking one of the really sugary peppermint sticks that have a hole in the middle and shoving it into a well-softened lemon. That works wonders on a sore throat and is not as tart as it sounds.
Smiles~
Marilyn
Hi!
ReplyDeleteVicks Vapo Rub!
works for everything!
rub on chest, nose, bottom of feet.
on a cotton ball in the ear.
Go to Vicks Vapo Rub site, to see what else it works on....Get to feeling better, being sick is not fun!
Chicken soup!
Sharlene Melhaff
Elk Grove, CA
Hot Tea, Hot Chicken Noodle Soup, Alka Selzer Plus and lots of sleep do it for me!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you are feeling bad. When I feel sick I take Mucinex D with lots of water, Ibuprofen, orange juice, and Emergency dissovled in hot water. Then I curl up in my chair under my softest blanket and drink hot Chamomile Tea with honey. Oh, don't forget to eat a little chocolate - it makes everything better!!
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow! You hit the jackpot!!!
ReplyDeleteAs far as your terrible cold goes...zinc and vitamin C...and lots of it! You need to build up your defense system. If you can find it in Canada, I always take "the perfect food" or Garden of Life (http://www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Perfect-Formula-300-Count/dp/B000GWIBBM/ref=sr_1_11?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1326145419&sr=1-11) Get the caplets because the powder tastes like crap :P Feel better real soon
Sandy so sorry to hear your under the weather!! When I get a bad cold I can not take any medicines SO I drink sips of water almost constantly plus I make home made chicken noodle soup with garlic and onions eat small amounts of it often both help keep the passage ways moist and flushed out of your entire system. Go outside and breathe deeply for a few minutes to get fresh air then right back inside under a warm blanket.AND just relax and know they usually only last 7-10 days regardless of what you do.Prayers & Gentle hugs for you!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you found some stuff you had forgotten about - makes me feel a whole lot better about my finds in my (very) untidy craft room! Here in the UK, Beechams Powders are the cold remedy I always go for but not sure if you can get them in the US. Has to be the disgusting tasting powders though - no soppy tablets. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteAmana Maifest Blend coffee (cinnamon chocolate almond)and Blue Bunny Ice Cream's new flavor
ReplyDelete"I Do, I Do" with wedding cake pieces and a raspberry ribbon running through it. If it doesn't cure you, it will at least make you happy!
So sorry you'rs sickie. What really helps us is Thera Flu. You drink it warm & it opens everything up. Hope whatever you take makes you feel better soon. No fun starting the New Year off being sickie.
ReplyDeleteHuggies ~
Sharron♥
My best medicine is Hot apple juice or cider if its in season. Being a vegetarian I don't eat chicken soup. I have been lucky and haven't had a cold in a long long time. So sorry about yours. It is miserable to be sick.
ReplyDeleteI have been the same, horrible cold and runny nose! Fruit herbal tea in a big mug made me feel better, and it would certainly cheer me up to win something so beautiful. Hope you feel better soon xx
ReplyDeleteYour cold sounds just like mine, and I'm into my 2nd week with it now. (hang in there, it will lessen - I'm now in the full-head-in-the-morning stage, then good the rest of the day) Cold medicines, especially the 12 hour kind, make me feel worse, so I decided this time to suffer through it. I've switched to hot tea in the mornings (coffee tastes awful to me now), and we've been eating on some home-made turkey-noodle soup left over from Thanksgiving, plus drinking limeade and eating clementines. I really don't believe there's anything you can do but get through it, with as much rest as you can give it. At least we're all in this together! Feel better!
ReplyDeleteWhen ever I feel a cold coming on I fix myself some Russian tea and take some zinc. Not a cure but helps get over it quicker.
ReplyDeletesorry your sick.... Try a hot rum toddy.. my mixture. Sugar rimmed cup, rum, a little butter and honey, and I ALSO THROW IN A LEMON HALLS. stir until all of it is dissolved, enjoy. if your not a hot rum person or a kid I make tea with lemon halls and honey... also my fav when i am sick is lipton chicken noodle soup and a cheeze wiz sammy. hugs Kymi-vi
ReplyDeleteI use Excederin Sinus and cold and get plenty of sleep, then I sleep some more!! Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteHot tea, lemon and honey and also hot chicken noodle soup helps some but it seems it just has to run its course and get plenty of water and fluids too. Hope you feel better soon not fun being sick.
ReplyDeleteLindt milk chocolate squares in the red rectanglar box, not the truffle in a ball kind. Let it melt in your mouth slowly. Moan with pleasure! My dd swears by Theraflu but it could just be the alcohol content...Waiting it out is the only thing that actually works for me. Keep warm, cuddle up with a good book and have people wait on you!
ReplyDeleteSue Feher
You know, just having my little granddaughter over for a visit is a great "pick me up" and I instantly feel so much better! I bet it works for a lot of grandmas!!
ReplyDeleteHot tea with honey...truly soothes a sore throat! AND, I swear by the drink mix called EmergenC! It can be found at Target, Trader Joes, drug stores...comes in different flavors & you can mix with water or juice. I had full-on body aches and sore throat/headache and drank it for 2 days. Voila! My New Year and birthday celebration were saved! Felt awesome the next day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the cool giveaway :)
The only thing I want to eat/drink when I am sick is fresh iced tea and homemade chicken noodle soup - it HAS to be homemade! The absolute best medicine for a cold is Mucinex. It breaks up all the "stuff" in your head and in your chest and leaves you feeling better in no time! Happy Healing!!
ReplyDeleteHope you get better soon and maybe if you try my remedie you might- If I have a cold I usually have a shot of Brandy or Whisky before I go to bed when I feel it coming this seems to kill it pretty much straight away. but if that doesn't work I drink lots of freshly squeezed lemon juice in warm boiled water and I add a drizzle of honey and if it's before I go to bed I add a touch of brandy. No I am not an alcoholic I have just found this seems to stop the germs dead in their tracks, but just drinking lots of fresh lemon juice and water and honey will help you feel better soon. if your throat is sore gargle with warm salty water two or three times a day for two days that should help.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance at some candy.
I usually can get over a cold with some homemade chicken soup and 7-up with freshly squeezed lime & lemon juice, but my hubby couldn't shake his until he took some Nyquil for about 3 days...knocked it out! Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI always use Buckleys, Its the worst tasting stuff, but sure works for me. Buckleys it is.
ReplyDeleteBuckley6s it is for me. Got to be the worst tasting stuff. but Its always workded for me.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're sick! I've heard that either Alka Seltzer Plus or Coldeez are good for treating colds. You want lots of zinc and Vitamin C! Hope you find a good treatment and feel better quickly.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you have been sick- I have been trying to pretend I am not sick.
ReplyDeleteI am going down like the titantic and should be reading all the suggestions myself.
I Love nite time alka setzer and will take and go to sleep...usually works magic.
Wnen you have a cold: The very first thing you need is some VICKS vapor rub. Grease up your throat, glands, back, and chest. Do this every night before going to bed until you feel better, then do it 2 more nights to make sure!! If you can do it during the day, make sure you wrap a towel around your neck and pin/secure it to keep the VICKS covered. And of course, it is true that chicken soup does make you feel better and get's you better quicker. These cures both work every time.
ReplyDeleteSandi
gdailey@concentric.net
P.S. I just read the other comments and glad to see there are others that use the same cure. Turkey soup will not work, it has to be chicken because there is something in chicken (can't remember) that draws out the bad cold germs.
If I am congested I take some cotton socks and wet them, wring out in towel. Put them on with wool socks over them and go to bed. As the socks dry it pulls the congestion from my head. Remember in Little Women when Marmee comes home to Beth with scarlet fever and starts rubbing her feet? Yep. To strengthen my immune system I use Nature's Wellness I get at Abundant Living in Portland. Best stuff ever.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you aren't feeling well! I drink lots of hot tea when I'm feeling ill. I find a good romance novel and curl up with my cat and it helps keep my mind off of being sick. Thanks for the chance to win and hope you're feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteMix whisky and honey together. The honey should be from a local source. Good luck! Achewww!
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of Elderberry Syrup. It seems that it just makes me feel better faster and herb lore says it has anti-viral properties. My other big favorite is hot tea with a hint of honey. Not too much sweet, just enough, and it makes me feel warm inside and out.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon ... being sick is yucky! DayQuil seems to be working for me these past few days.
ReplyDeleteMy family has always loved that old fashioned chicken soup and orange juice remedy. Comfort food with steam to help clear the nose and orange juice for a little extra vitamin C. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteFor a natural remedy, boil freshly grated or sliced ginger in water, then drain the chunks out.Mix the liquid with a hot green tea. It is filled with antioxidants. Then for the nose- saline spray from CVS or the netti pot if you have one. Stay away from cold liquids, it makes you more conjested. Hope this helps and thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteRed jello, chicken noodle soup, and sprite + apsirin. Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI highly suggest Olive Leaf Extract, available from Health Stores (hopefully it is available, as I'm an Australian). It has amazing abilities to keep many bugs at bay, and if you are ill, it will shorten the length of say a common cold. I have used it with much success, and have not had a cold or other ailment is 2 years. My Mother uses it and has done so for many years - I wished I'd listened a lot earlier to her telling me to 'use' Olive Leaf Extract.... LOL I started using it as I had an infection in my tooth - (I was desperate) it worked!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel much better soon...
Love all your specials ...
My favorite cold remedy is to rub Vicks Vap-O-Rub on my neck and upper chest just before bed. Use an old comfy, soft sock and pin it around your neck with the heel area right at the front of your neck. Climb into a bed that has fresh soft linens and snooze away. Oh yeah, if you can find somebody to wait on you hand and foot, that always helps, too. Just be aware, you will be returning the favor as that kind person will be coming down with your yucky-ness. I hope you are feeling better soon. Linda S. in NE
ReplyDeleteYou poor darling. Have a nice old jewish grandmother make you some delicious matzo ball soup. Should do the trick.
ReplyDeleteWhen you feel the first sign of a cold a couple of vitamin C`s are great.
ReplyDeletemy favorite 'medicine' is russian tea. i drink it even when i'm not sick. it's sweet and orangy. and i also like to put on an old favorite movie (the big chill) and lay in bed and maybe even nap while it's playing.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I am not feeling well, from a headache to a cold, the one thing I always want is a large sweet tea from either Sonic or Dairy Queen with plenty of ice. I do not know why it makes me feel better, but it does.
ReplyDeleteRinsing sinuses with weak saline solution in neti pot plus zinc lozenges both help tremendously with cold symptoms. If you are seeking a cure, however, my mother always advised, "If you have a cold and go to the doctor, it will last seven days; if you don't go the doctor it will be over in a week!" Feel better!!
ReplyDeleteAt the first hint of a cold, I start taking Airborne, twice a day. Vicks Vapo rub always made me feel better, too. I prefer the cream that have out now adays to the greasy stuff my mother used, lol! That and my favorite blanky and a good night's sleep will work wonders for you! Hope you feel better real soon!!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband swears by alka seltzer, the fizzy tablets. Yuk! I won't even tell him i'm sick because he'll make me drink it.
ReplyDeleteSorry you are feeling bad, a cold really sucks. Try some Alka Setzer Plus Cold Medicine. It works for me.
ReplyDeleteChicken soup, musinex,Zicam, hot tea with lemon, some orange juice and lots of sleep. Also the 12 hr cough syrup and more sleep with lots of warm blankets.
ReplyDeleteI like to use Vick's Vapor Rub for my chest and a warm towel to relieve chest congestion. They still make the Vick's Inhaler which I used to use as a child! (they work pretty good for a stuffy nose! Drinking hot tea with honey and lemon is soothing also. Having homemade chicken soup while snuggled up in a nice fluffy robe is also my favorite thing to do! Especially, if its cold and rainy outside!!
ReplyDeleteSorry you have such a nasty cold. I always take Airbourne, vitamin c, garlic, and zinc. Then I go to bed and rest.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better. Thanks for the chance to win goodies.

Sandy,
ReplyDeleteI just used this remedy this morning... hope it helps you! Combine 1/2 c. hot orange-type tea, 1/4 cup orange juice, 1 tbsp. honey. Stir together and drink, feeling it sooth your throat and giving you that vitamin c that you need. :) Janice in Ohio
Oil of oregano! Two drops under the tongue at the onset of symptoms-or even after. Tastes awful but works!
ReplyDeleteI need to do me some shopping!Anything lemon always helps me-lemon tea, lemon cough drops.Probably don't really help-but they make me feel better!
ReplyDeleteSorry bout the runny nose thing. You can try this if you want...kinda tuff to do when your feeling lousy...but drink a glass of red wine...get under an electric blanket & sweat it out! I know...sounds crazy...but it works! I'll attach a disclaimer later....LOL....hope your better soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat FUN to find all these hidden treasures you shared with us!!
ReplyDeleteThere's just not enough time to have to deal with a cold! UGH! Mullien is a natural remedy that helps with congestion and chest complaints. My young children grew up with this remedy and we still enjoy it steeped as a hot tea when not feeling just right.
An aromatic tea can be made by boiling 1 tbs. dried leaves or root, in 1 cup water for 5 - 10 minutes. The mullien leaves can be obtained through a natural food store or in the wild if you are sure it has not been sprayed with toxins! Check this out: http://www.altnature.com/gallery/mullien.htm
Best wishes for your return to good health!
Joyfully.......Sandie Luck
Well - hot & sour soup - hot tea with lemon & honey - lots of water &
ReplyDeletealka selzer cold plus should help take care of your sinuses & runny nose. A neti pot will also clear out all that gung in you sinuses. Feel Better Soon!
I have had that cold for 2 weeks now! I have been taking cold FX and pills on a regular basis. I have to agree, Nyquil is the answer, my is green and not particularly tasty, but boy does it work! I keep saying that I am going to try some hot rum and honey, but so far I haven't, some people swear by this! Good luck, it just seems to run it's coarse, Marilyn.
ReplyDeleteLuckily, I'm seldom sick with anything, but if I do have a cough, I squeeze fresh lemon juice into a glass of water. This helps "cut" the phlegm. At bedtime, I cut a cough drop into several smaller pieces and keep one of those small pieces in my mouth during the night. Hope you're feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI usually try to just sniffle my way through a cold but you sound really sick. At nighttime I would recommend you take "Nyquil". You will definitely sleep - that is why it comes with its own little shot glass!
ReplyDeleteevery time I feel really really bad I make a doctors appointment... magically when I get to the appointment I always feel better!
ReplyDeleteNYQUIL! grab a bottle and hit the bed! keep tissues close by. sleep for along time.
ReplyDeletesorry that ya'll are sick - i decided to come down with "something" yesterday..started with scratchy throat. i started taking my air borne...today i got worse and i watched my two grandsons today - after they left at at 6 pm i took a hot hot shower - ate some oatmeal and was in bed at 7! it's now l0:l0 pm - HAD to get up and clear my head...so found your lovely post waiting..thanks for the chance to win some goodies..and congrats on all the finds that you found. i really like taking the air borne..it usually works and i KNOW by tomorrow i'll be much better.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite medicine is Nyquil. It puts me right to sleep and I wake up feeling better. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me feel better is when i got a room all to myself, some hot chocolate and silence. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping you are feeling better soon, my friend.
ReplyDeleteMy "feel good" remedie is to just go to bed and try to sleep it off. Usually works for me!
What a way to start a new year! Runny noses are awful! Hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteMUKat
Sleep is my cure all. I still haven't found the best medicine, so I am reading all the other comments to find out what to take when the next cold hit me!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you are feeling "yucky". .... My favorite food for when I am feeling yucky is chicken soup yup, I am senior citizen, so I truly believe chicken soup makes everything better. chicken soup and watching my favorite soapie...yup , that always makes me feel better. hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you are sick. My husband makes what we call "magic tea." Use any tea for your base, and add a pinch of cloves, a pinch of cayenne and a pinch of ginger to the mix. You can also add honey. It works better than anything we've found for cold/sore throat. You can add milk, too, if you want to. It's amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me feel better is lying on the sofa with my pillow and blanket and turning on TV low. I'll get all snuggly and think of happy days when I was young and with my family.
ReplyDeleteSo I know this is unconventional and not really healing, but I always love spicy food when have a cold. It tastes so good because you can actually taste it.
ReplyDeleteFeel better, and thanks for the chance to win.
A good steamy shower to help with the congestion, ibuprofen for general aches and pains, a long, narrow rice bag around neck for general comfort, a huge cup of tea and breath in all of the steam. Mucinex and lots of fluids to keep that stuff moving. Hope that helps. I am sorry that you are sick. It is a nastiness for anyone.
ReplyDeleteI like peppermint tea with a shot of honey and lemon, It always make me feel better when the weather is yucky. the Yucky stamps make beautiful get well cards. From scratch ginger tea is always good also.
ReplyDeleteI know it never does any good for nasties in your chest or nose, but there has always been something so warming about peppermint hot chocolate when I didn't feel well. I hope you feel better soon. Being sick is no fun at all, especially in the cold weather, so hopefully you're up and at 'em in no time!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon! I'm a big fan of Nyquil.... always works for me. Hope to see you at the CHA show this year.

Hi Sandy - WOW, nice giveaway!!! For a cold I drink LOTS of water and use Mucinex to dry up the nose. Sounds like you've been very busy and how fun finding things!! Cleaning and inventory is always an adventure. Thanks for this opportunity and hope your cold gets better real soon. Hugs, Sharon :o)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry everyone feels sick! That's no fun. I like Throat Coat tea by Traditional Medicinals. It's a soothing tea that's nice when you have a sore or scratchy throat--or even if you just want a calming tea.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me feel better is when my hubby brings me a heating pad and a cup of tea. Then he tells me to just shout out for him if I need anything. He tip toes around the house TRYING not to make any noise to wake me. Tooooo sweet!

Theraflu is my "go to medicine" when I have a cold or flu. I eat lots of chicken soup, too. I hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteBless your hearts...so sorry to hear of your cold and all these others! Homemade chicken soup has been proven by chemists to have curative properties...who knew the chemists could cook?
ReplyDeleteSleep as much as possible, then enjoy some chocolate pudding, hot off the stove. Not curative, but delicious.
I would say some hot soup, preferably, chicken noodle soup.
ReplyDeleteKaneka
kaneka410 at gmail.com
Chicken soup cures all! That and plenty of rest.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Sudafed does nothing for me as well, I rely on hot tea, chicken noodle soup (mostly for the broth), crackers, sprite, vicks vapor rub, theraflu, and an otc sinus cold formula other than the suadafed brand usually its just the store brand and stay in bed get lots of rest, and I find zinc tablets a couple times a day after you eat shortens the length of time I'm sick , hope some of that helps, feel better soon
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you are under the weather. Home made chicken soup is the best remedy, also Delsyn cough syrup will supress the cough and promote a restful nights sleep. I hope you are feeling better soon!!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you are under the weather, homemade chicken soup is the universal cureall for a cold. Also Delsyn cough medicine is good to promote a restful nights sleep and to supress the cough. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is really cute stuff!!! Sorry you're all sick, I totally empathize, my entire household has been repeatedly down and out over the last couple months. The only thing that saves me during the bad sniffles/coughs/headaches is DayQuil! Tastes horrible but it works great :) Get better soon!
ReplyDeleteLove all of these amazing projects!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome sale!!
Please dont add me to the drawing since I won something last month!!
The vitamin c packets work really well and so does orange juice and chicken noodle soup.
If you have a sinus headache or your head feels stuffy I eat some salsa on something or eat a jalapeno that snot too hot that helps!!
Hope you get well soon!!
Sounds like we've got the same cold miles apart! Airborne & Cold-eeze (or any other zinc lozenge) and lots of water and chicken soup. My grandmas also always rubbed us down with Vicks (including our feet, don't laugh, it really helps - just be sure to wear socks!) Hope you start to feel better soon!!

I hope you are doing better. My cousin, the nurse, said that at the first sign of a call take Zycome, I don't know if this is the correct spelling. It's a mega dose of vitamin Z, along with Zyrtec or the generic. Take one table of the Zycome every 4 hours and the Zyrtec one a day.
ReplyDeleteIt did wonders for both me and my husband. Although, I still have the remnants of the cough, but it is going away.
Thanks for doing a giveaway! Feel better soon!

Zicam was recently recommended for me. Hot tea seems to comfort me also.
ReplyDeleteSure wish I had some of the chicken noodle soup that I made for my hubby now that I have gotten the crud from him!
ReplyDeletegood old chicken noodle soup= Liptons packaged. boil water and enjoy. i've been giving my family homeopathic flu remedies during flu season= September through April, and they haven't been getting sick in the winter. gargling with salt and water also helps a sore throat. thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMucinex. Good stuff! If you develop a cough get the DM. When I was little and couldn't stop coughing, Mom would rub Vicks on my chest & throat. I think part of the reason it helped was because it was very relaxing. I'm sure there's no medicinal value in it, but the menthol vapors seem to ease the stuffiness a little. I used it for my boys, too--very soothing.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you aren't feeling well! Have you tried Airborne? You dissolve a tablet in water and drink it. I think it works better when you feel the cold coming on, but it's still worth a try. And I still swear by vitamin C every day! Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better. I always drink lots of fluids. I agree with others that Nyquil works great with lots of sleep. And, you may want to toss a shot of whiskey in that tea ;-).
ReplyDeleteTake care!

My mom's remedy was to make us "special" cinnamon toast and hot tea, and then she would come in and rub our foreheads and temples (which helped us fall asleep). If we weren't feeling better by lunch, then it was a cup of steaming chicken soup and saltines with butter. Hope you feel better soon! LOVE the Felling Yucky stamps!
ReplyDeleteMy 'feel better' go to is a hot lemon drink with honey.... and menthol/camphor to help me breath.
ReplyDeleteHope you are better very soon.
Blessings

I have to admit, my GarageSaleGal told me about Airborne and I felt better the next day. But the chicken soup made me feel much better too. Fell better soon! I love your give-aways.
ReplyDeleteIt's no fun being sick. But I firmly believe in Chicken Soup, and Traditional Medicinal Teas which are awesome and Sambucol
ReplyDeletefrom the health food store. Also, I like to start taking Collidal Silver, Olive Leaf Extract and Oregano capsules. The Herbal Healer Academy in Arkansas is a fabulous place to purchase these
herbs and they are pure, pure, pure.
I love all of YOUR products
and I wish I would have ordered more when the shipping was free. Darn.
I will be tucking you in my
