Dress Form Mannequin & CD Giveaway!

Hi Everyone,

I have a great Giveaway for a dress form you can alter and a CD # 3, or you can pick CD #1 or #2.   If you don't want the Dress Form and CD you can pick $35.00 in product.  To enter, just leave a comment on this post and tell me what you prefer and see my question below.  Winner announced this Monday, Aug 6 at our August Linky Party (first Mon each month)

This is the shorter style that DT Leader Vicki Chrisman altered using text paper and images from CD #3.

I'm trying to decide if we should sell the dress forms online and the cost of shipping is the only thing holding me back.  If they sell for $16.95 for the shorter model and $18.95 for the taller one would you pay $8.50 S&H?

We would have to buy larger boxes but if it works out less we can lower it.  This is the link to my altered dress form tutorial for the one below and I also used the shorter model but then I received a shipment of the taller ones and love the waist. I used the 2 sewing pattern pages from CD 3.

Here is the taller dress form with the waist.  I love that both of these styles have a flat base so you can stand them up.  I cut a hole in mine and attached an old lamp base (see above)

I would love to do one in stamped muslin and have been figuring out how to do it and get the fabric to be smooth and add batting so you could pin jewelry and cool keepsakes.

These little bottles that Vicki altered before using CD 3 also turned out super cute.  One of the best things about the CD's is you can shrink images from large down  to 1' x 1" size and print on cardstock, paper, fabric,  tissue, whatever medium works best for your project!

I adore this cute journal page DT member Pam Hooten sent me and love how she added the stamped sentiment and used our Artsy Banner stamps to create the scallop borders!

How about this funny 'Bring Books' postcard Sophie La Fontaine stamped for her friend Patrick who is enrolled in a super boring class.  Sophie used our Book Lover Stamps and others and she has all the info here.

Look how Marie-alice made this quick card simply cutting and matting one of the Alice images from our Greeting From Wonderland Scraps.

Big congratulations to Cindy Coutts who made the front cover of the Paper Creations Magazine!

Cindy used our Coffee & Tea stamps on the cover card

Lastly, I will leave you with a photo  my daughter Chelsea sent me of Otis our dog who now lives with her.  She just bought him a doggie stroller off Amazon for less than $50.00 and says it's super well made and the perfect ride for a blind diabetic dog who loves the fresh air but can't get around as well anymore. She says now she can stake him anywhere, zip him up, pretend he is a baby and takes him into any store in her neighborhood walks - unless he barks!

Don't forget to come back this Monday and join in our August Linky Party or just see what other people are creating and I will post a winner for the Dress Form and CD.

  1. Love the ideas. Thank you for the chance to win the awesome products.

  2. Thanks for a chance to win. I'd love to win the CDs. I would not want the dress form as a prize, nor would I order it. Just not my style at all. And I think most people shy away from things that cost more than $5 to ship - just my thoughts.

  3. I would love, love, love CD #3. I was just thinking of ordering it. I have #1 and would really like to have the other two also. Thanks for the opportunity to get this.

  4. I like both dress forms as far as the postage many online stores charge hefty shipping fees for smaller and lighter items. Considering the size of the dress forms the shipping price seems quite reasonable. Plus you are always sharing wonderful ideas with all of us.

  5. I think the postage seems quite steep, but if i were ordering something else then not so bad. I would use the $35 to spend on your website.

  6. Great projects.

I'd love to win the dress form and one of the CDs. What fun that would be!

  8. Fun samples and I love Otis' new wheels : ) The shipping seems reasonable for something that big but I tend to be the type that would rather order a larger $ amount of products and earn free shipping. If my name were chosen I would like to pick out some products, Thanks for the chance to play!!

  9. Love Otis's new wheel, how sweet he looks peeking out the front. I Bet he loves it. How sweet your daughter is to take him and tour the town!! Sweet.I don't think the shipping is a bad price for such a large item. Shipping is high everywhere. I love the mannequins and what you have done with them. I would love the other Cd #3 if I were to win. How about sewing the mannequin an actual dress to fit the form, after you have stamped on the fabric or muslim what you want. They treat it more like an upholstery job with pins and staples to gather it tight where you want. You would still have the loose fabric where you want and could pad it where ever you wished. You could add trim and lace or goodies to it before you tacked it down. Then no glue would be needed and you could pin and hang things where ever your heart desires. Just a thought.

  11. I would love to win one of your CDs. I hate, hate shipping costs.

  12. That dress form is gorgeous and since I can't get it anywhere near me I would totally pay $8.95 for shipping. The ones you altered are amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I love the dress form! I hate paying shiping for anything but 8.50 seems reasonable for such a large product. I would love to win a cd! They are awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  14. The size is probably what makes the shipping so high. Have you checked UPS or FedEx? I have been drooling over CD #3 for a week and would love to have it!

  16. YES! I WOULD pay that much in SH! For a large item, I think it'd be worth it! I think the cost IS REASONABLE! :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oh I would love CD 3 and the dress form, and yes, I would pay the shipping. Sound very reasonable!
    Blessings, Regina

  18. Oh! I so hope that you will sell these dress forms online!!!! Very interested.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I love the dress form with the waist!!! I would love to win it and the CD, but I would also buy one - it would be so fun to alter!!! The shipping seems about right for the size! Thanks for all your great ideas!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't think the postage is bad. I almost paid $12 shipping for a couple of herbal liquid for my dog! Of course it would be ipeven better to win one! They are awesome. And so are Otis' wheels! Where did she get them?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes I would pay the shipping for the dress form unless, I would win one.... which will probably not happen in this lifetime! I love your cd's 1, 2 and 3!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh man just love this. Go with it girl would love to win this CD also thanks for the chance.

    ReplyDelete
  23. LOVE the way you've altered the dress forms. I don't think the S&H is too bad; it's worth the conveinence since I'd want to use all your images and stamps to alter it with.
I have a new printer now so I would Love to win your CD's and have a chance to play, play, play!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Because I already have the fabulous CDs and I'm not likely to use the dress form (I'm mostly a card maker), I would prefer the $35.00.
I agree, the $8.50 seems high for a $16.95 item, but usually I'll pay whatever I need to if I want the item badly enough.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I love the longer dress form. If I were to win I would take the dress from and CD.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love the dress forms, but the price of shipping might keep me from buying one. If I win I would want the dress form and CD #3

    ReplyDelete
  27. I would choose the dress form & CD #3. I love the example with the vintage text.

    ReplyDelete
  28. What an amazing give-away!! I would choose the dress form (have plenty ideas for it;-) and CD#3. Sometimes i don´t care about high costs for shipping, it depends on how badly i wan´t the item....:-)

    ReplyDelete
  29. I don't think the shipping charge is bad at all. However if I won I would prefer the $35 in product. I like the dress form, but it's just not me.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I absolutely LOVE all of your products! Vintage style is so "me". I would definitely want the dress form and CD #3 if I win. Keep up the good work! Your design team is awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I would prefer the CD since I probably wouldn't buy a form anyway. I LOVE your CD's and visit your site almost every day that you post. So many great ideas! Thanks, Mary Werner

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think I like the larger of the two dress forms - more room to put things on. I wouldn't have any problem paying $8.50 in shipping - not unreasonable for such a large item. Thanks for the opportunity to win a CD - as I don't have any of them I would enjoy having one. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I love both dress forms and would want one of each. Would you be able to lower the S&H for orders of 2 or more?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Such great products would love to win this, thanks for the chance, Monti

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks for the contest--you are so generous! While the dress forms aren't my thing, $8.50 in postage seems reasonable to me. I appreciate your thoughtfulness in postage costs. Many companies charge whatever they want.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Truth...I would not want the dress form, but would love the CD's. I am leery of spending high shipping. You're right to question us.

  38. Hi Sandy,
The price for shipping is high. I love the form but have no place to put it so would prefer to win one of the CD's. All of the vintage CD's are great as is all of your vintage products. Thanks for having this contest & have a great BC long weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm not sure I would use the dress form, but I love your site and would love the chance to win some products.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I would love to go shopping for $35 of your stamps and other product...there are so many pretties I want!
I am unemployed and would not spend $8.50 for shipping : (
The dress form on a lamp made me chuckle~ reminded me of "Christmas Story"!
Thank you for a chance to win your generous Giveaway!

  41. I'm so glad to have seen this! Thanks for this opportunity to win such goodies. If I were lucky enough to win, I'd prefer the $35.00 in product.

And the shipping cost for the dress form sounds reasonable to me. It isn't exactly like ordering a book or cd's. $8 shipping for a small package like that would be crazy, but not for a dress form which is quite large.

    Kristin

  42. Thanks for a chance to win, Sandy! If I won, I would like both the CD and the dress form. The shipping seems high but if someone wants it bad enough, I think they will pay. I try to avoid shipping charges whenever possible by ordering more product at sites that offer free shipping with larger orders.
    Thanks again!

  43. Oh, I would love the dress form to alter as well as CD #3. I have cd's 1 and 2 but not 3 yet. Love the dress form and I would pay the s&h. Seems very reasonable!

That photo of your daughter and her dog is priceless! So very cute! Love the stroller! :-)

  44. I don't think the shipping is that much. I don't have any room in my home for an item like this. But i would love to decorate it for someone as a gift. I have a few people that would like . I love some stamps or something. Thanks for the give-away. I want to go and visit your site. Thanks, Janis

  46. I'm a fairly CAS card maker and really don't think I'd be purchasing a dress form. (I just purchased some of my first Crafty Secrets stamps though - and LOVE the quality, I'll be back for more!)

    ReplyDelete
  47. What a great giveaway! I already have CD 1......

    ReplyDelete
  48. Love the dress form! And would love to have one. Unfortunately, until I get a studio built (it's in the planning stages) I don't have room. For now I'd be happy with the less expensive shipping route for you and get more use from the awesome image cds :-)

    ReplyDelete
  49. YES - I would be happy to pay $8.50 shipping for the larger bodice - when might I order one? Ready now! Maybe the scrappers and card makers might be less interested, but those of us in fiber and altered arts will most likely be happy to get one or more of them. Coming up with ideas already and my head is hurting. I like your idea of covering with batting then muslin (maybe stamped images on it first) so you could use it as a pin on form. Wonder if spray adhesive would be a good start on the bodice then piece on quilt batt? Ah the endless potential. What is the bottom side of the form like? If it is closed, could you potentially put it on some sort of plant stand or base for a faux dress form?

    ReplyDelete
  50. I am not into the dress form, but based on the size of it, I think that your pricing and shipping are more than reasonable. I would love the win the $35 in product as there are some things I have been eyeing...like so many of us! Thanks for the chance to win

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hi Sandy,
I love the dress forms and the great altering you and Vicki did to them. I really don't like to pay so much for shipping so I would probably try to find something locally that would be cool to alter instead...with Crafty Secrets products, of course!!
    Thanks for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thanks for the chance to win. I would choose the $35 in product. I think $8.50 is totally reasonable for shipping the busts. :) Hugs!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Fun projects - and the chance to win! I don't think $8.50 is too much- I love the dressforms!

    ReplyDelete
  54. I would love the longer waisted dress form and CD. It would be such fun to alter with paper. I don't know if I would want to pay the shipping. I usually try to find things locally so I don't have to pay shipping.

  55. I love both, but if have to choose i think I would choose the shorter one. Thank you so much for the opportunity to win. I have CD's 1 & 2 and have been budgeting to purchase #3. I just love all your products and would love to have all of them of course. I wish money wasn't such an issue for me. Oh well, I will appreciate it more with the wait. Thanks again Crafty Secrets for bringing us such wonderful goodies. Cyndie

  56. The dress forms look fun but I wouldn't buy because I wouldn't have the space to put it, but the shipping probably isn't too bad. I was just looking on one web site and to buy one clear stamp I like for $6.99 I would have to pay $5.99shipping and that is way to much.

  57. Wow! I would live the opportunity to win a dress form & CD 3. The dress forms are lush. They may be a little on the expensive side with postage, but it's not like you need half a dozen. One fabulous piece can really set off a room, so it's well worth it.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I would love to win the dress form & CD3. Postage costs are getting higher & higher, which is really irritating as it means less money to spend on great crafty stuff. However, I just spent 7.50 p&p on a little wooden box so would pay for a product I really wanted & the dress forms are incredible.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I would not buy the dress form simply because it is not my style of craft. I would, however, be interested in winning something!!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. As much as I love the dress forms I would take a certificate for sure!! The form and CD 3 would be great. LOVE all your crafty products and the vintageness is awesome!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I love what you did with the dress form..but would prefer the product gift..I would be embaressed on having the overly done chest until I got it finished with my grandchildren.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Hi! I would love a chance to win CD #2 or $35 to spend on your site! There are so many interesting items to choose from. The dress form is not really my style. I do think that the shipping charge of $8.50 seems reasonable to me, especially compared to other sites with larger items. Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I would love the chance to win the taller dress form! How creative! Love your blog :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. As an international customer and fan of CS I wouldn't order the dress form as postage would be too high. If I was to win I would love to spend the $ in store. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  65. I would love the cd's if I won. I like the dress forms and think the price and shipping are great. I have "hangers" from swimsuits I've sold that are clear plastic. I will be utilizing these so no dress forms required here. Thanks for the chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I would be thrilled to win one of these. I have wanted one forever to go in my sewing room that I am working on!!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Oh my goodness! I love how you altered those dress forms!! thanks for the chance at winning one!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Thanks for the chance to win. I have purchased plastic t-shirt forms in the past from on online store named barr display for less than $10 but I'm sure most people would prefer to purchase from you to be assured of the quality and preset shipping charges.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Great giveaway - I would like the smaller dress form and CD#1. The shipping costs for these forms is not that high considering the cost of any type of shipping these days. Love the example you posted. Also love your blog and products.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Gorgeous!! I love it ..I don't want to win the cd's I already have al three and I love them !! There are so mucht differend items on it Fun for the next comming years!
So I go for the $35,-

    ReplyDelete
  71. I think that your postage on the dress forms is actually quite good...and I would want the shorter version as opposed to the longer one. I think it would be easier to display.

I have CD's one and two, but I would love to have #3!

    ReplyDelete
  72. I would pick the $35.00 in product because I am So intimidated by altered 3-D art but the long dress form would be my choice if I ever ordered a dress form. The shipping sounds about right...the same as many scrapbook suppliers charge for their standard order.
Thanks for the chance to win some Crafty Secrets!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I would like the Tall dress form and CD 3 ! The shipping wouldn't bother me..it sounds right to me.. thanks for this amazing giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Oh gheez...decisions, decisions! I love the dress forms and would love the opportunity to alter one. Vicki's idea of the batting and muslim sounds awesome. If I want something bad enough, shipping is never an issue. So, I guess I would have to choose the dress form and CD!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Love the chance to win. Shorter or tall?! I would love them all! Cd's awesome. Not a fan or stupid shipping costs, everything is too expensive It's down on ordering for "craft" addiction! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  76. Although I love what you did with the dress forms, and I would prefer the longer dress form because it looks more finished, I would probably go with the product instead. I rarely do altered projects due to lack of space!
As for the shipping costs, I usually dislike having to pay shipping, but your postage sounds very reasonable for this dress form.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I would totally buy this if you offered it for sell--the tall one. It would be better to just win it!!! Would love to win another cd as well. I only have the first one!

I have researched these dress forms online and have not been able to find them at this price even with the shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Both dress forms are fabulous, but I'm too scared to even attempt to alter one so I would love to win the $35 in product...Thanks for a chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I think the shipping for the dress form is perfectly reasonable!! And I also think the forms are adorable and seem like they would be right up the alley of CS fans!! Having said that, I wouldn't get one simply because I have no more room to display any more large altered items! LoL! If I were to win, I would use the money and definitely get CD #3 (the other two are some of my favorite go-to crafting items!) and a few other goodies. Thanks for the opportunity to win another super giveaway and also thanks for sharing the cute doggie stroller! I may have to keep it in mind as my own sweet pup ages.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I'd love to win $35 in product...maybe then I could come up with a great idea for transforming a dress form. With so many places offering free shipping, we've become spoiled--just remember that some shipping and handling is figured into the price when you see free.

    ReplyDelete
  81. The dress form is fab...I have one I did in my craft room...I paid A LOT more to have mine shipped. I would love to see you stock them.
Would love to make another one of these and use your CD #3
    Great projct

    ReplyDelete
  82. I would like a tall dress form and cd but truthfully, if I won, I would take anything offered... I love the three cd's and dress forms!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. I'd love the dress form--how great would that be. And your daughter with the dog in the stroller--priceless. What a great thing she is doing for him.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I am inspired! Looking forward to purchasing the Cd's I love vintage pictures! The dress forms/mannequins are lovely

    ReplyDelete
  85. I love the altered dress form using pattern tissue pieces--I have some vintage patterns that I picked up for 10 cents each--what a great way to use the tissue. Also, have thought about using the pattern pieces for scrapbook or journal pages. Putting the dress form on a lamp base is genius!! I have some lamp bases I got in thrift shop. Love the images on CD #3--so many ideas, so little time. . . . Thanks so much for the opportunity to win these great prizes--I'd even pay postage!!!

    ReplyDelete
  86. I have cd's 1 & 2, so I know I would love #3, as well! I haven't done much with altered items, but I Instantly started thinking of ways to decorate the dress form and use it to hold jewelry. I don't think the shipping price is unreasonable. You usually have to pay more s&h for bulky items. Thanks for all the great inspiration!
