Halloween Winners, New Samples and Etsy Theft

Hi Everyone, this is an update to my post yesterday

Congratulations to random.org winners #8 Sharon from Nova Scotia and #41 Linda Carson who each won our Halloween Kit and any Halloween Clear Art Stamp Set!  We are waiting on delivery of the Halloween CD, so we will email the winners the Halloween Download (available in our Shopatron Store now) and send the CD as soon as they arrive.  I want to 100% confirm the date before I post it.

We had a few glitches with some of the digital Halloween orders and some people's Dropbox Invite to the files went in their junk mail.  If you've had any problems please email me.

Here is the design for the Halloween CD Cover.  Here are the previous Halloween digital samples and links if you missed them.

DT Leader Vicki Chrisman has been busy creating a bunch of samples like this adorable layout of niece Jada and I love how she added the spider PNG to the photo!

Check out these other  great Halloween samples on Vicki's Blog, like this house she created from one of the templates.  Look how she printed it again so she could cut out some of the images and raise them up on pop dots

This is super difficult for me but I feel I need to post about it and ask for your help.   A customer called today who found some of our Creative Scraps for sale digitally on Etsy and I was shocked to see not just images but the collage side of some of our Creative Scraps being sold for $1.50, or buy 1 get 1 half off.

The seller cut off our header and logo off the top of our Altered Fairy Scraps. I'm appalled and sad and I hope you will email me if you see our products being sold digitally by anyone other than us.

I have spent so much money buying the 'perfect vintage images and Cindy van Koll our graphic designer has spent countless hours cutting, layering and changing them to create art that is uniquely ours, so seeing these all for sale made me feel sick.

I've contacted this seller 'floozieville' to ask her to remove all our images and any other companies designs.  I tried notifying Etsy but 4 pages of legal jargon popped up and they need to cover themselves and require written proof with copies.

Thanks for NOT supporting sales like this!

PS: All our Creative Scraps, Vintage Cuts and other printed products are all on SALE right now in our Etsy Store and Shopatron Store.

Sandy

  4. That is horrible. I hope most people would realize it's a rip off. Obviously if it's not sold by a store or yourself, then why would they have the right to sell them. I hope you pursue it and go after them. Good luck and congrats to the lucky winners, I'm so jealous!!!! ;)

  5. A thief is a thief! These images are protected under copyright laws and this woman could potentially be setting herself up for a lot of legal consequences.
Shame on her! I hope etsy shuts her down!
To steal your product is the lowest of low!

  6. I'm glad that one of your fans recognized this obvious theft and notified you. You are doing the right thing by bringing this to our attention.
It is sad that this happens, and it brings to mind what happened to the music industry when people post music for others to download for free...but in these days of file sharing I am sure that there is a lot of this type of thing going on.

I always purchase directly from your site and will forward this email on to my scrapping friends so they are aware of this.

  7. Ugh...the etsy theft makes me sick! What some people will do for a buck. I'll be sure to be on the lookout for this sort of thing. Your products are so beautiful...one can easily see all the time and love that has been poured into them. I hope etsy steps up to the plate and removes this seller. If they are doing it to you, they are probably doing it to other people, too.

  8. I would suggest putting a watermark over your pictures in the shop and an all rights reserved on your downloadable stuff say in the middle so any potential thieves would have to do some obvious removal work before they could sell it.

  9. Honestly, is nothing sacred anymore. Shame on people who steal and can find nothing better to do than take what belongs to someone else for a profit. they will always find a way no matter what you do. I would take legal action if they persist.

  12. I am so sorry to hear about this. In addition to contacting the seller and Etsy, there are other legal channels you can persue, but that will involve finding a lawyer, etc, etc. I hope the seller will simply do the right thing and comply with your request. I always enjoy seeing your latest creations, and my Crafty Secrets stamps are among my favorites!

  14. Thanks for making my day by winning some CS Halloween!! Exciting news!! I'm sorry though to read about the theft. I've seen several stamp companies battle this problem. It's a shameful. Hope you get it resolved.

  16. "Floozie" is an accurate description for someone despicable and immoral enough to STEAL your images. Glad you found out. Just FYI...it looks like she's got some of your Christmas images too. :-(

  17. I certainly wouldn't buy anything like that! I know how hard you've worked and how much you care that your customers are satisfied. That's a really underhanded thing to do to a business, and I'm sure all your other customers feel the same way! She picked a good name for herself.

  18. That is very sad that someone would stoop that low to take something that someone did to profit from it. What's really funny is she has been caught red-handed. Does she not realize this is a crime? And I agree with everyone else, she did pick an appropriate name for herself. I am a customer of yours and love all your products. You can be assured I will be loyal to you. Love the halloween digi's can't wait to purchase. thank you so much for bringing us all the wonderful products. Cyndie

  19. I'm so sorry to hear this Sandy. I hope ETSY takes action and bans her from ever having an account with them. And I think I'm going to send her a message letting her know I don't shop from thieves. I hope your weeks get's better!

  20. Either I missed the bogus Etsy images or you added to the post. I can't understand why people are so dishonest like that. You have worked hard to develop your own style and products!

Sadly, this kind of fraud has happened to Mo over at Mo's Digital Pencil many times. You might try contacting her to see if she has any tips.

  21. Congrats to the winners! What a Super adorable house that Vicki created, too!!
I'm so sorry Sandy that someone would stoop so low and steal like that, just to make a lousy buck! I've never seen any of your wonderful products being sold illegally and wouldn't buy them if I did...we know how much time, work and love you put into your business and we all really appreciate it!! Good luck with putting this 'floozie' out of the thief business as soon as possible!
