Welcome to our August Linky Party and Design Team Challenge! One day I hope to have a granddaughter so when I’m out and about I often can’t resist buying cute stuff for little girls and picked up some adorable little girl slips at the church thrift store and decided to add a little fairy and some lace to this plain slip dress. When I was taking the photo a rainbow went across it from a crystal in my window, which I thought was 'fairy' appropriate.

I used our new Born to Fly Digital Fairy Set  and printed it on cotton fabric using freezer paper. I'm so excited about the versatility that digital offers I want to convince everyone to try it - so my Giveaway is for our last Born to Fly Clear Art Stamp Set - plus the digital version of Born to Fly and 4 sheets of 8.5 x 11" freezer paper and 4 sheets of printable canvas! I used Photoshop Elements to add my different images together, change the color to brown and  re-size them smaller to fit the dress

The arrows below show the steps on how I changed the color from black to brown but you can find links to many more in depth tutorials on re-sizing and changing colors including some by DT Member Sheila Rumney here on our Pintrest Tutorial Board. Often, I just use Paint to crop, re-size and add text.  Paint is pre-installed on many computers or you can  GetPaint.net  for free or Gimp for Mac computers to edit images.

 I love using freezer paper to print images or you can create pattern fabric by printing our digital paper designs on fabric.  You can buy freezer paper on the roll in many grocery stores, it's like wax paper but only waxy on 1 side.  That's the side you iron onto a pieces of fabric so it will be stiff enough to feed through your printer. Note: some printers are picky, so if you can't print on card stock it may not work. My Canon IX620 works like a charm and prints up to 13" x 19".

 I cheat and buy the pre-cut sheets of freezer paper, then iron a bunch to fabric and trim it with my paper trimmer.  I like to recycle and cut up white sheets or cotton remnants I buy at the church thrift store. 

TIPS: If you ever have a problem with ink bleeding when you are trying to color a inkjet printed digital stamp try leaving it overnight, or heat set it with a heat tool or hair dryer, or give it a spray of Krylon Finish.   Krylon also works fantastic for sealing printed paper when doing decoupage.       Also, if you hate paying full price for ink, try quality compatible no-name ink. I went in the garage and gave my fabric printed image a spray with Krylon Matte Finish as I wanted to use my watercolor pencils to color it right away. 

Here's a close up photo. Don't look at my messy stitching, I did it down at our trailer on the patio and was too busy visiting with family and friends to pay good attention. 

I added lace around my image I frayed and stitched on some pink ric-rac and tied knots in some pink tulle to make bows, 1 for top, 3 for bottom. Found the sweet pink flower in my stash.

I kept seeing great veggie cards DT Member Michele Kovack created using  Inktense Watercolor Pencils. and had to order a set. I love that the pencils are permanent once they dry - even on fabric!
