Flea Market Show, Pretty DT Samples and Linky Winner!

Hi Everyone,

We went to the Vintage and Revamped Market Show in Cloverdale, BC on Saturday and enjoyed it so much I took a bunch of photos to share today and include with our Design Team's latest creations and our lucky April Linky Winner.  I will do my big Mother's Day Post Tuesday as no room to fit it in here.

Everyone who enters our Linky Parties (first Monday each month) receive a $6.00 coupon and 1 lucky random.org winners gets a $50.00 Crafty Secrets Gift Certificate. This month congratulations goes to #4 Theresa who entered 3 projects. Note: you can enter up to 4 samples and increase your odds of winning but it's only one $6.00 coupon per person.

What did I buy at the Show?  Silver plated teapots and earrings made from cutlery. Our youngest daughter Chelsea is getting married this Sept and her 2 best friends Brenda and Kristy have started a wedding consulting business www.aydaproductions.com so I grabbed these 3 silver teapots to hold flowers for Chelsea's wedding and for Brenda and Kristy to use.  $40.00 for all 3 = $13.50 each.  I polished them up for this photo, now imagine them filled with roses and greenery for an outdoor wedding!

I'm smitten with gold and brown tones lately but I still love silver and fell for these dainty earrings that Tom creates from vintage silverware.  For $15.00 I felt they were a great early Mothers Day gift from Scott and he was there to approve. I love that Tom includes the name of the pattern and year. He must have made these from tiny dessert or cocktail cutlery as they are so dainty.

Mixed media artist and teacher Linda Lock  was there with some beautiful painted furniture and info on painting classes she offers in her seaside studio store in White Rock BC.  I took painting classes from Linda about 15 years ago and can promise she is a fantastic teacher, plus she now offers a line of great home decor paint and design stencils.

At the Nostalic Nest booth I fell in love with this seaside oil painting but Scott was not into  it and no matter what I said I couldn't convince him that $75.00 was a good value for an original oil in a vintage window frame.  Anyways, I want him to love what ever comes into our house so I passed on it but looking at it now makes me a little sad.  Does anyone else love this painting or am I nuts??

I also wanted to buy this sassy table for our middle daughter Holly who just moved to a cute house and loves champagne.  It already sold and I was already over my budget so I took a photo to show her I thought of her.

I can't find the name for this booth below that was on the far left wall but I loved their workmanship and creative imagination!  Both of these desks were so unique, one crafted from an old printers drawer and the other from vintage yardsticks and both on old sewing machine bases.

MonicaStacy.com had some beautiful pieces. Check out this stylish black cupboard below with the decoupage poster of the Eiffel Tower.

This dresser by Debra's Originals was really striking and it was sold and gone the next time we walked past. I was so impressed with her gold script freehand writing.

If you click on the photo you can see how the writing is actually 3D and I think Debra did it with a gold leaf overlay. It was beautiful!

Okay, now onto some fabulous samples by our Design Team ladies!

DT Member Kathy Clement has been delving into mixed media and playing with all sorts of painting, inking and distressing techniques and explains step by step what she used and did to create this altered art canvas.  You have to see Kathy's close up photos to see how she curled and distressed papers to achieve great layers of antique vintage charm. The papers, banner, bingo card, postcard, etc are all from our Typography CD # 3

DT Member Vicki Chrisman posted these pretty blue frames and added some of our Printable Eggs and  Vicki also used our Spring Bunnies Digital Stamp Download to make some cute plant pokes, or add to a basket or use as a cake topper.

We have 3 Digital Easter Egg Downloads and if you missed the Stitched Eggs Vicki made  with the Adorable Set you should check them out.

DT Member Darlene Pavlick used this botanical rose from our Garden Printable Download and curled and distressed the edges to create this pretty Mother's Day card with vintage flair.

DT Member Sheila Rumney used papers and a rose from Sew Decortaive CD # 7, along with the 'Birthday Wishes' stamp from our Digital Garden Girls Download to create this E-card and Tutorial  using Photoshop Elements. The flower is all cut out, so once you learn how to crop, paste and layer, you can create a card quickly to email for a friends birthday. I love Sheila's TIP: save a PSD file so you can return anytime and quickly make changes to suit a new occasion.

Look at this adorable Feel Better card that DT Member Elizabeth Lincoln made using our Feeling Yucky Digital Stamps with paper and cherries from CD #1 Creating with Vintage Patterns. I love how she added Diamond Glaze to the cherries and made cherry cough syrup for the spoon!  Duckie inside card are from

Lastly, look at Mrs Bunny by DT Member Cherry Nelson

I will be back tomorrow with a Mother's Day post filled with inspiring samples and links to freebies

Thanks so much for your support and feedback, it's truly appreciated!
