Vintage and Retro DT Kitchen Projects and More!

Hi Everyone,

I have some fabulous Kitchen projects to share today, plus thanksgiving and some uplifting cards. Don't forget you still have until Sunday 12 midnight to enter our Nov Linky Party and everyone will receive either our Vintage Santa or Bedtime Kids Stamp Set - you can sneak a peek here also scroll to end of this post.

DT Member Darlene Pavlick created this awesome recipe album but I made a mistake and labeled a file wrong for our DT ladies that is included on a CD in our Cooking/Family Sale Pack so Darlene thought it was all in our Kitchen Memories Kit. In the end the few kitchen theme papers we started designing kept growing and became 2 Kits - Kitchen Memories and Retro Kitchen Kit

This is actually the cover I made for the kit but I love how it looks on Darlene's album so I'm going to include it in the kit and I will email it to everyone who ordered the Kitchen Memories Kit so far and get my web master to update the online download with the high resolution 12 x 12" copy.

The funny face dishware and polka dot paper are in our Retro Kitchen Kit but most of the other supplies used are from Kitchen Memories

You can see the other pages included in this charming recipe album on Darlene's Blog.

Our Guest DT Member this month Birgit Norton used our Kitchen Memories Kit to make this sweet combo set with a card and a kitchen folder to hold recipes, shopping lists, coupons, etc. You can see more photos and details on Birgit's Blog.

DT Member Sheila Rumney created this wonderful kitchen table layout using the Kitchen Memories Kit. You can see several Digital Tutorials on Sheila's Blog showing all sorts of techniques like the blending she used here.

DT Member Melody Clement stitched up this homemade gift tag using the Kitchen Memories Kit  that would be perfect to tie on any gift from the kitchen.

Look at this pretty Christmas card by DT Member Shantaie Fowler she created using one of the doilies and some roses from our Kitchen Memories Kit and she die cut them both using her Silhouette  Machine.

This is the cover that I made for our Retro Kitchen Kit and I got a little more carried away and tried to show all the papers plus all the fun printables included.

Look at this super cute apron card by DT Member Diane Hoover she created using the Retro Kitchen Kit and the utensils are from our new Kitchen Queen Digital Stamp Set that goes so well with the kit. The utensils in the digital stamp set are big, many over 4" so they can be a focal point on a card but look how Diane has shrunk them and the pot holder stamp down and colored them.

Sheila Rumney also created some lovely uplifting cards using images from our Altered Fairy Scraps and you can see the other pretty bird card on her blog.

DT Leader Kathy Clement was away at a annual craft show she exhibits at and made up this pretty thanksgiving card ahead using an image from our Seasonal Booklet and papers from CD # 2 Illustrations.

Okay, I can't stand it, I have to show you a peek at how the Vintage Santa Digital Stamp Set is coming along and I would also like to ask your opinion. if you think it's okay to add a Christmas star behind Santa or is that offensive? This set and Bedtime Kids will be ready next week as my graphics designer Cindy has been at the hospital all week with her husband who is ill.

Wishing you joy and creativity

  1. Of course a Christmas star would not be offensive. IMHO, those that choose not to celebrate Christmas should not really care about what those that do celebrate choose to decorate with. I am a Christian and I celebrate Christmas in all aspects. I find nothing offensive about others celebrating in their own way. Does this make sense at all or am I rambling? Anyway, love your designs! You should do what feels right in your heart. Hugs!

  2. I think the star would be wonderful behind Santa! What a beautiful image either way!

  3. I agree with Juliana about the star. I am not a religious person, but I still enjoy the spirit of the season and take advantage of the time with family. I have family members who are Christian and some who are Jewish and somehow we all manage to get along! LOL It's too bad some folks have to look for things to get upset about and raise a stink, isn't it? Thanks for all the great ideas!

  6. Just my 2 cents, I think Santa image should come solo but offer the star in another digital image with Santa....some folks may not want the star
