May Linky Challenge Winner and delightful DT Samples

Hello, Friends!
I'm trusting that you are all doing well and enjoying this beautiful spring weather we've been having.  It just makes you feel alive, doesn't it?  I have some delightful DT samples to share with you today, but first, I have the announcement for the winner of our May Linky Challenge.

We had 8 guests join the party this month, and when I asked my dear husband to pick a number between 1 and 8, he chose #5, Heather from The Paper Toile. Heather created a gorgeous tag using the pink floral wood grain print from our Birds and Blooms Digital Paper Kit and a beautiful stamp from our Flower Garden Stamp set.  I love how soft and feminine this tag is!

Congrats, Heather!  Sandy will be contacting you with the information you need to collect your prize! Our next Linky Party Challenge will be held on June 1st, and will be a masculine theme, so get your creative wheels turning!

Our design team has had a busy month.  I don't know what it is about the month of May, but life seems to go on fast forward from now til the end of the year.  Still, the team has put together some amazing samples that I can't wait to share with you!

If you're intrigued by the idea of digital scrapbooking, you really need to check out Sheila Rumney's amazing layout!  Sheila used our new Birds and Blooms Digital Paper Kit and our Sew Decorative CD to create this fantastic page that looks dimensional, even though it is all digital.  It's a great way to capture a memory without spending a fortune, or taking up a lot of space in your home.

Ginny Nemchak made a darling wall hanging for Mother's Day using our Little Blessings Creative Scraps, heart shaped ivory chipboard and elements from our Vintage Typography CD. You can read all the details on Ginny's blog, Polly's Paper Studio.

Our Birds and Blooms Digital Paper Kit contains some of the prettiest papers we've ever made.  Diane Hover used the green diamond water color paper to make this lovely card.  I just love the little painted house she added!  You can read all the details on her blog, Nellie's Nest.

Our Digital Flowers Printable Sheet is perfect for springtime crafting.  Darlene used them along with our Birds and Blooms Digital paper kit to make this sweet card.  I love the way the hand made flowers match the flowers in the print, don't you? Dar has all the details on her blog, Dar's Crafty Creations.

Teresa has been a busy bee, and created this gorgeous Friendship themed card using our Words from the Heart booklets and our Pastel papers. I love the way the sentiment from the booklet has been framed with those beautiful die cuts, flowers and butterfly! You can get the details HERE.

I was already missing the beach, but when I saw Teresa's tag made with our  Summertime Vintage Images Booklet, I got even more homesick for it! .  The stenciling adds such a fun element to this project.  You can read all about it on Teresa's blog, Victorian Paper Queen.

Memorial Day is this weekend in the US, and I hope you all have a safe, happy and wonderful time with your families and friends. We'll probably fire up the grill and enjoy some time with our family.  Until next time, on behalf of Sandy Redburn, I wish you joy and creativity!

Down on the Farm Sample, Creating With Vintage Illustrations and more!

Hello Friends, welcome to the weekend!

I hope you have some fun things planned, and that you get some time to play with your Crafty Secrets goodies! There's nothing more relaxing than creating something beautiful!

I had a little extra time on Friday afternoon, so I sat down with our brand new "Down on the Farm" Digital art stamps and made a super cute birthday card.  You can read all the details on my blog, Kathy by Design.

The images in this set are like a breath of fresh, clean country air!  There are so many different ways to combine images, build digital collages, use in mixed media or on scrapbook pages.  You can even just print them out in black and white and use them "as is."

In addition to the original stamp set, Sandy created a slew of new images, sentiments and extras for a total of 51 stamps!  Here's a look at the second page of this fresh, fun set of digital stamps.

Makes you want to get your craft on, doesn't it?

Our former DT Leader, Vicki Chrisman, has been busy making some beautiful sympathy cards. No one ever wants to make this type of card, but when you've suffered a loss, it means so much to get one in the mail! Vicki used our Creating With Vintage Illustrations CD #2
to create three of the most beautiful sympathy cards I've ever seen!

I know you'd love to take a closer look at these beautiful cards.  The colors in this first card are just amazing! I love the way Vicki stitched the image to the paper. And the combination of the roses and butterfly is gorgeous.

This CD has loads of botanical and  bird illustrations on it, and Vicki used one as the focal on her second card. She put this digital collage together, printed it and then stitched it to her card front.  Easy to mail, but that stitching adds a great "hand crafted" feel.

I love the way Vicki layered the frame and the roses on this card.  It's just perfect.  You can get all the details and product links on Vicki's Blog, "This Art that Makes Me Happy."

If you're looking for a resource that will give you a lot of bang for your buck, our "Creating with Vintage CD's" are at the top of my must have list. Every single time I use them, I find something new.

Some of our design team members are on vacation, while others are swamped with end of the school year activities.  I can't believe it is almost summer, can you?

I hope you'll take some time this weekend to enjoy time in your craft room.  And don't forget to link up your Crafty Secrets creations to our May Linky Party post!  We have a wonderful prize package this month for one lucky participant!  It might as well be you!  You can find all the details HERE.

Have a wonderful weekend!

May 2015 Linky Party New DT Member and DT Challenge: Anything Goes!

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to the May 2015 Linky Party!  This month is "Anything Goes" so as long as you feature Crafty Secrets products in your project, you are eligible to win the prize!  Since Sandy just released a bunch of wonderful new digital goodies, that will be the prize bundle for this month.  One randomly chosen participant will win all of the following:
We also have the winner from Sandy's Facebook and Blog giveaway to announce!  Erin Glee and Sue Weiss-Fredrickson have both won our two newest (and totally fabulous) Digital Art Stamp Sets: Down on the Farm and Vintage Hardware!  Congrats! You can read all about these wonderful new sets and see some samples HERE

We also have a really exciting announcement to share with you as we have added a new face to our design team.  Teresa Horner has joined our ranks! Many of you are probably already familiar with her beautiful blog, Victorian Paper Queen, but for those of you who haven't met her yet, you are going to love her work.

Teresa designs for Spellbinders, Really Reasonable Ribbon and several other teams.  She loves to create and has been doing artsy things all her life. She loves to draw, paint, make jewelry and especially create with paper. She loves history and enjoys traveling around the world to see other places and meet new people.  She is an avid photographer, gardener, and also loves to sew.  Teresa is such a fun-loving and talented person, and I know you are going to love her magical paper creations.  Here's a sample of a project she made for a recent Crafty Secrets/Really Reasonable Ribbon cross-promotional.

Be sure to welcome Teresa to the Crafty Secrets family!  We are so excited to have her join us!

Now, on to the design team samples.  This challenge snuck up on our team, but the girls all managed to create some wonderful cards and projects to inspire you. Michele Kovack and Gloria Stengel are unable to join us this month.

I used the new Pastel Tile Papers, Digital Vintage Garden Scraps and ephemera from the Typography CD to create a layered, feminine card.  You can read how I chose the color palette on my blog, Kathy by Design.

Darlene Pavlick is getting ready for wedding season!  She also used the pastel tile papers along with our beautiful Vintage Photo Scraps to create a romantic mini album.  This tile paper looks 3-D..and when I first saw Dar's pretty project, I thought she had used an embossing folder!  It's amazing!
You can read all the details on her blog, Dar's Crafty Creations.

Diane Hover's project is going to make your mouth water!  It features  ripe, red strawberries from our Digital Vintage Garden Creative Scraps.  Her cheery gingham papers are from our Kitchen Memories Digital Download. I love her photo with that red rooster peeking out from behind the card!  You can satisfy your craving for strawberries with the wonderful recipe for Strawberry Pie that she shares on her blog, Nellie's Nest.

I have always wanted to know how to watercolor, and when I saw Elizabeth Lincoln's gorgeous watercolor roses, I was completely blown away.  She shares wonderful tips for painting digitally printed images on her blog, Paper Pass Times.

Ginny Nemchack captured sunshine and glued it to this bright and beautiful layered card.  She used the sunflower images from Vintage Garden Scraps and papers from Creating with Retro Christmas CD #5.  It's good to remember that our Christmas, Halloween and Thanksgiving kits contain wonderful papers that can be used all through the years.  Ginny will show you how she built her card when you visit her blog, Polly's Paper Studio.

Melody Clement stitched her heart out on this great vintage card that uses a darling couple from our Digital Vintage Photo Creative Scraps. If you want to learn how she created her wonderful frame, be sure to visit her blog, Paper Melody's.

Shantaie Fowler created the cutest tags ever by combining images from our Digital Mini Creative Scraps with vintage buttons and button cards.  I love the sweet color palette she used, and you can see more pretty tags and get instructions for how to make your own at Inking Pink.

Sheila Rumney has created a card that is gloriously soft, feminine and vintage.  She also used our Vintage Photo Creative Scraps along with our Digital Sewing papers.  Don't you just love that vintage lace?  Read all about the creation of this card at Sheila Rumney Design and Photography.

The newest member of our team, Teresa Horner has a beautiful Mother's Day altered box to share with you.  She used our Little Blessings Creative Scraps and the wonderful crackle textured paper from our Digital Radiant Paper Collection. You can learn all her tips and techniques at Victorian Paper Queen

A little gift from Sandy if you place any order in our www.CraftyVintageGirl.com Store until May 11/15 you can add this fun Retro Mother's Day Card to your basket for free! After it will become part of the Retro Cards Ad Collection for $3.50 that will include 3 printable cards and inside sentiments.

To encourage you to play along in our Linky Party, we are providing a free digital image and paper.  Just click on the image, download and save to your computer.  You can use these images in your Linky Party Project if you would like to, but it's not required.  As long as you feature Crafty Secrets products you are eligible to win.

This sweet image is taken from our Digital Garden Creative Scraps.  I simply cropped the image and sized it for you to use. Please remember - this image and the paper are only for people who want to join in our Linky Party.

Here's the Free Paper for those participating in the Linky Party.  It's reduced to 8 x 8 inches, a better size for the image above. This paper is just one of the pretty pastels found in our Birds and Blooms Paper Collection designed by our own DT Member Sheila Rumney.

Now it's your turn!  Create something fabulous and link it up to this blog before midnight Pacific Time on Sunday, May 17th.  A random winner will be chosen and announced here on the blog on Wednesday, May 20th.  We'll be popping by to take a look at your lovely artwork and we'll be sure to leave you some love!  I can't wait to see what you create!

On behalf of Sandy Redburn, I wish you joy and creativity!
