Our Guest Designer Amber Tosh!

I’m thrilled to announce that Amber Tosh is our guest designer this month! Amber is a talented scrapbooker and paper crafter who is also on the design team for the wonderful Melissa Frances!

Here is a photo of Amber and her Bio

My name is Amber Tosh and I am living the country life in Nova Scotia with my husband Ray and our five amazing children. I was introduced to scrapbooking about 6 years ago, but have branched out into other paper crafts as well over the past couple of years and am loving it! I have a fondness for all things vintage and I’ve had a ton of fun playing with these beautiful and versatile products from Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage Collection!

Look at this adorable Christmas decoration Amber created using the little Santa paper doll boy from our Image & Journal Booklet titled 'Little Dolls'. She cut the little boy and tree out and created a backdrop with papers from our Earthy Paper Pad. I love the way she fan folded the red & white paper and created the arch.

Amber whipped up this Christmas tag using an image from our Christmas Vintage Image & Journal Notes on a white tag she punched. The little red button and white twill tie in with the paper perfectly.

On these next two projects Amber got creative and recycled. First, she used an empty jar to created a little candle holder. She wrapped the jar in frayed fabric with an image she stitched on from our Winter Homespun Cotton Scraps.

This little mint tin is so cute painted blue and distressed with a bit of sanding. Amber decorated the inside lid with the birdy image cut from our Winter Homespun Cotton Scraps. she glued on some Spanish moss and a little bird to finish it off.
Amber created this sweet layout of her daughter peeking in a Christmas present using papers from our Classic Paper Pad and the ornaments are a sheet from our HIJ 08 Christmas Image & Journal Notes Booklet. The stamp over the trees is from our SL07 Frame It Stamp set and 'MAGIC' is stamped using our SM 14 Top Hat Alphabet stamp set. I will be sharing more samples from Amber and some other Christmas ideas this Friday.

Four $26.00 Give-Aways!
We are giving away four $25.00 gift certificates this Friday, so put your name in NOW for the random draw and a chance to win! You can spend it on any of our products and we will pay the shipping! Spend it on yourself or use it to buy Christmas presents.

Just leave a comment HERE on the blog and tell us what you love about Christmas to win one of the 4 gift certificates.
I hope you are all starting to feel the Christmas spirit!
Wishing you joy & creativity

Oh my, what I love about Christmas...... the list could go on forever, but perhaps my most favorite thing about Christmas is the "love" in the air! It seems you can feel it everywhere, through the whole season really, but most especially on Christmas Eve and Christmas day. People are just kinder, gentler, and they seem to smile more than usual. It's just a very good feeling for me. You know the song: "If every day could be just like Christmas...what a wonderful world this would be" thanks for letting me share :-)

I love Christmas as I'm able to express my feelings for family and friends thru the paper projects I can create for them. Money is tight for everyone right now so making something gives me the chance to create from the heart and everyone enjoys it for years to come. Christmas truly is the best time of the year!

I love the warm feelings that everyone seems to have at Christmas time! We speak to strangers, show more love to our fellow man! We come together as families in ways that we forget about during the hustle of the rest of the year. OF course, the food(s) don't hurt either!!
Thanks for the chance to win!

I love the atmosphere of love, peace, and friendliness created by Christmas. Making and sharing things - cookies, sewing, knitting, paper goodies - it's all part of the fun! Best of all are the traditions - getting out the old family ornaments, with all the memories, the church services, cards -- it really is the "lovliest time of the year"!

To me christmas is the joy of giving of ones self as much as preasants! many people forget that and get cought up seeing how many preasants they can recieve or give. Many only want the latest gadgets! however my son has taught me a valuable lesson every one should learn. It's not how many or if it's the best, be happy with what you have and peace and joy will be yours even in hard times.Debra ~ mystic_fairy42@yahoo.com

Wow - you gals have such wonderful & very inspiring projects!

There are so many little things that make Christmas special to me...I love the lights, the hustle and bustle, the smells of pine trees, cinnamon, and fresh baked goods, the excitement that lights up the faces of children...But I think my favorite thing about Christmas is showing love and kindness to others - on my part as well as on other's parts. I can't help but get all teary eyed when I see strangers treating eachother with kindness. I wish we all remembered to treat each other with such kindness all year round.

Jesus IS the reason for the season. The Father showed us His love by sending His Son. We, in turn, share that love with others. At Christmas, more than any other time of year, the spirit of loving and giving prevails. I can get caught up in the festivites, the decorations, the gifts, and the excitement, but never want to forget the true meaning of the holiday. It warms my heart to see people giving of themselves to make others happy.

I also love the decorations, Santa figurines popping up everywhere in my home, it makes me happy:)

julialynn said...

I thought of another Christmas favorite, and I thought I would share...my favorite thing about Christmas is the wonder and awe in the eyes of my children, all children get that gleam at the thought of magic and Santa Claus, this jolly guy who goes down their chimney to leave them gifts, it is like a fairy tale to them, but they believe in it and it makes it so special, I really enjoy helping my kids write out their letters to Santa, taking them to the special mailbox that goes directly to the N.Pole, and then we get a response back! It is wonderful. Going to visit Santa @ the mall is a magical experience also, and of course, baking Christmas cookies to leave for the big man on Christmas Eve, and carrots for the reindeer, these things that are mostly for my kids really make my Christmas very special and memorable.

Staci said...

Well, there are many things that I love about Christmas. The very thing that makes my Christmas special is my kids. Christmas just has a magical feeling in the air that puts a smile on my heart. Even though I do not like the winter weather I like the crisp air, the beautiful lights, and the smile I receive from the people ringing the Salvation Army Bells when I am running in and out of stores shopping for "The special gift". I love watching the feathery like snowflakes coming down on Christmas morning with the yummy smells of baking goodies while listening to the Christmas songs. I love the squeels from my girls when they see Santa and the twinkle in their eyes on Christmas morning when they open their presents. And oh how they ring jingle bells when we sing carols around the tree! I love the hugs and kisses when my grandkids give me the special present they made for me from daycare. I love writing those special letters to family members that I send in the Christmas cards and receiving cards back from someone I have not heard from in a long time. I miss the simplier times from when I was younger and I miss loved ones that have passed on but we reminisce during the holidays. I enjoy watching the Holiday shows while cuddling on the couch with my hubby and kids eating popcorn. The children love hearing the story of baby Jesus and The Night before Christmas while I rub their backs goodnight. I could go on but the just the season of Christmas makes the whole world a little brighter and makes the beliefs a little stronger !

What I love about Christmas is the warm and fuzzy feelings that emit from almost everyone. It's the time of year that the music has you singing with joy, the festive decorations reflect a the brilliance of the season and most people are somewhat filled with the spirit of love. It's a time of reflection of past years, a time to connect with family, and a time to put aside feelings that might be darkening parts of the heart. It's childrens laughter, smiles when seeing Santa and the celebration of the greatest birth on earth. Christmas in every way is the most special day of the year!

What I love most about Christmas--over and above it being Jesus' birth celebration--is sending Christmas cards! I love this way of connecting with people in my life, some who I now only hear from at Christmastime year after year.

Long before I began making my own cards, I loved selecting cards, writing an annual update letter, addressing the envelopes, making return address labels, enjoying the year's postage stamp(s), and mailing cards all over the world. Receiving cards in return is also a true joy.

Now that I'm a cardmaker, I love sending as many handmade cards as I can manage. Even if I don't have the same number cards made as I do recipients, I still remember the long list of folks from my past and present with some sort of festive card and our newsy letter. For me: this is the highlight of the season!

I love Christmas music, Christmas decorations and lights, but most of all I love my church's services and the time with family and friends.. oh and the kids thrill when going to see Santa and on Chritmas morning.
