WCMD Pink Challenge & Prizes, Oct DT Guest Sheila Rumney, Video Tutorials & Trip Photos!

Hi Everyone,

I’m back from our trip and the 2 shows we did and I have lots to share today! We have joined up Splitcoast Stampers to celebrate and and be a sponsor for World Card Making Day and Breast Cancer Prevention Month. There will be ongoing challenges all month and I have 2 challenges and 2 technique to share today. HERE is a link to see all the fabulous prizes donated - including a $50.00 gift certificate from us!

Lori Lynn Washburn is hosting a ‘Show Me Some Pink’ challenge using any of our products this week over at Splitcoast and you can get all the details HERE and you can see the Gallery HERE. Look at this very pretty card Lori created using an image from our new Little Blessings Creative Scraps!

We have a new guest designer this month! Please give a warm welcome to Sheila Rumney! Look at this very cool layout she created using a collage style with the inside side of our Birds & Blossoms Creative Scraps.

Sheila says she’s been blessed being a wife for 23 years and mother to 2 beautiful children that keep her life very busy. She loves all things distressed, worn and aged from antiques to primitive decor. This love and appreciation of all things old spills over into her creative process.

Sheila is on the Tattered Angels DT, she is a paper arts and jewelry designer, enjoys teaching and has 4 different blogs with links HERE to her inspirational quotes & photos blog, another to jewelry she sells and others to tutorials and kits she offers. On this vintage photo mat Sheila used images from our Little Blessings Scraps. You can see more photos and details HERE on her blog.

Okay, look at this pretty little sparkly card DT leader Vicki Chrisman created using one of the art deco houses from our Home Sweet Home Clear Art Stamps. Vicki doesn't have much confidence in her coloring skills along side some of the 'Copic Queens' on our design team but she is silly because this card is so wonderful and I love the way she added the Stickles! You can get all the details HERE on Vicki's Blog.

DT member Julie Campbell has been working on a mini memory album with her family photos and posting pages on her blog as she finishes them such as this page with her mom who creates dolls. I love the way she cut the black silhouette images from our Little Dolls Booklet here. If you scroll back on past posts you can see all the pages and HERE is a link to 2 of adorable cards she created with our new Little Blessings Creative Scraps!

DT member Mary Hamer designed this romantic and classy layout using a combo of our Artsy Banner and Bird Notes Clear Art Stamps and an lady from our Girlfriends Image & Journal Notes Booklet. You can see more details HERE on Mary's Blog.

Beate Johns designed this stunning card using our Rose Clear Art Stamp Set and I hope it gets big when you click it on so you can see the detail. Beate also recently finished 2 great technique videos showing a fantastic masking technique HERE with our   Vintage Christmas Stamp Set and how to create a weathered wood HERE on paper where she used our Poppy Clear Art Stamp Set!

Beate Johns over at Splitcoast also has a fun challenge with a lingerie theme HERE and you can see the cute card she created below using the electric corset ladies from our Girlfriend Creative Scraps.

Okay, now I have some photos to show you from our road trip to Alberta. We had a double booth at the Calgary Stitching & Crafting Show and then had the week off until we set up at the show in Edmonton last weekend. We met so many great ladies and had so much fun at both shows! This is a photo taken just before the show opened.

Here is a photo of my honey Scott (x 32 yrs!!!), who looks after the register and tells corny jokes.

This is me at the Banff Hotel which I thought was amazing as it was built nestled right in the Rocky Mountains in 1887! We stayed in Banff 2 nights (in a way less expensive hotel), went swimming in the hot springs and lucked out with beautiful sunny weather!

My husband Scott loves to travel and I can con him into working at any show as long as he gets to see some new sights and have a little  adventure – besides the show.  He planned lots of stops between the 2 shows including our first visit to Banff where we met the crazy guys on Banff Rugby team! They took first place last year and dressed up as ladies. This year they toured the town to celebrate 2nd place dressed as WWF wrestlers. They had Scott pose with them here and drink from their trophy cup. He's supposed to look tough but our daughters said he looks like he's crying.

Okay, I promise these guys were harmless and so much fun!  Their outfits were over the top wild and when they introduced themselves on the patio at the local legion pub they gave me a grand welcome to Banff!

Finally, I have to share these photos we took on our drive back home through the Rocky Mountains when we met a herd of big horn sheep (I think?) on the side of the road. They were so tame, they just walked right by our van.

I think Autumn is the most beautiful time of the year to do this trip. We took so many photos as the colors were breathtaking! Still, it's always nice to come home.

Most of these guys were really young and adorable!

That's all until next time.

Wishing you much joy & creativity!
