Spotlight on New DT Member Shantaie Fowler

Welcome, Friends!

Have you been enjoying this week of the new Design Team Reveal?  So far, we've spotlighted the lovely Diane Hover, the vintage goodness of Gloria Stengel and the clean, elegant style of Melody Clement.  Well, today, you are in for a real treat!  We are putting the spotlight on the whimsy and artistry of Shantaie Fowler of Inking Pink.

When I asked our exisiting DT for a few recommendations for leads on new designers, Michele Kovack immediately directed me to Shantaie's delightful blog where I found an amazing range of artistry and delightful design.  Shantaie makes the most wonderful 3-D designs and is great at working "off the page."  I think you are really going to love the sense of fun and celebration she adds to the team. So without further ado, let's put the spotlight on the delightful Shantaie Fowler.
I'm Shantaie Fowler a crafty DIY type who truly loves all things paper, fabric, and ink. Many years ago I began stamping as a hobby and a creative outlet, having no clue that it would change my life forever! Although its no longer a hobby, paper crafting has taken me on a journey I could never have imagined.

I spend as much time with my family as I can, and enjoy life's adventures planned and unplanned alike! I try to live each day to the fullest, and if I'm not at work or off traveling you can find me in my craft room covered in glitter with ink stained fingers!

I am so thrilled to be a new member of the Crafty Secrets creative team, and look forward to all that lies ahead!

Don't you just love her already?  I know I do!  Here's the project Shantaie created using our Bird Notes Digital Art Stamps.

There is so much yummy texture in this card, and I love the fresh colors she used to really make this card POP!  Take a look at the wonderful detail in her ribbon.

It's so sweetly shabby!  I hope Shantaie doesn't mind, but I just had to share this adorable apron she featured on her blog recently.  I can't wait to see her "off the page" projects for Crafty Secrets!

So, I have to tell you, I am pretty excited on my end of things.  We've added 4 incredible designers to the team, and each one brings her own special skills and point of view to Crafty Secrets.  I think we are in for some wonderful inspiration and fresh ideas, don't you?

Be sure to visit Shantaie's blog, and give her a hearty welcome in the comment section below.  It's been such a great week here on the blog...and there is so much to look forward to.
I hope you each have a wonderful weekend, and on behalf of Sandy Redburn, I wish you joy and creativity!

Kathy

Fab Stamped Samples, Coloring Tutorial, Your Invited To a Party & More!

Hi Everyone,
I have so many fabulous samples I can't even fit them all in today's post but will share more next time.  I also have a link to an excellent coloring tutorial by Diane from Art of Craft Store in NZ.  Plus - I want to invite all of you to our New Monthly Crafty Secrets Linky Party where you can add samples here on this blog and be entered to WIN a $50.00 Gift Certificate!  They will be the first Monday of each month so please join in Monday April 2/12 and samples can be added all week long. Also see Update at end of post.
I also have photos from the show and planned to post Sunday but life got in the way.  My parents live with us and we were at the show Fri & Sat and my mum doesn't drive so she had to call an ambulance for my dad on Sat as he started coughing up a lot of blood. He's out of the hospital now and doing better. I'm taking him for tests this Thurs, so please say a little prayer for him.

I've been wanting to show you this adorable Wonderland teacup DT Leader Vicki Chrisman designed using our Tea With Alice Stamps and Wonderland Tea Scraps. The colors and whimsy make me feel like a giddy child.  She even made a ladder! You can get all the details here on Vicki's Blog.

We also have 2 impromptu Guest Designers, Sophie La Fontaine and Marie-alice (aka ladybug1743) who have been emailing me fantastic samples! Look at this fun card Sophie created using our Clear Art Stamps in Tea With AliceGrand Greetings and Artsy Banner Sets.   You can get all the details here in Sophie's Splitcoast Gallery.

Check out this adorable bunny birthday card Sophie created using the rabbit and cake from our Tea With Alice Stamps and you can get the details here in her gallery.

Sophie used our NEW Sing For Joy Stamp Set and the 'friend' sentiment is from Floral Art.
on this very pretty card and I am so in love with this little bird.

Okay, now here are a couple of cards by Sophie's partner in crime Marie-alice. They share sets and stamp together often.  Marie used our Birdies stamps and the little bird in the cage is off Birds of Happiness.  I love how she suspended the cage over the sheet  music.

This is another beautiful card Marie-alice created using our Poppy Flower Stamps and click it on big to see the Stickles on the Dragonfly and flower centers. She hasn't added it to her Splitcoast Gallery yet but I know she uses Newton Watercolors to paint with.

I spotted this pretty card that Beate Johns from Splitcoast created using an image from our Birds & Blossoms Scraps with with the Perfect Layering Tool , a Nestabilities die, ribbon, a tag and stitching.  See details here.

I also wanted to show you these wonderful tags that past DT member Melissa Phillips  created and I missed last month using 7  stamps from our Queen Bee Set with some Paper Trey stamps.  Great warm colors!

Our new DT Member Busy Martha has been busy creating wonderful samples like this sweet card with our New Sing for Joy Stamps

Marilyn (Busy Martha) also came across a great how to coloring video was inspired to use the same coloring technique with our Easter Joy Stamps to make this cute & colorful ticket tag.

I somehow missed Diane's Youtube Video but I highly recommend watching it for sheer inspiration as she speeds up the camera to quickly color all sorts of ticket strips with Tim Holtz Ticket Die and Distress inks, a blender pen and Glossy Accents using Tim Holtz stamps but later our Garden Girls, Glamour Girls, Bird Notes and Wildflowers Stamp Sets!  She makes it look so easy and fun and the results are spectacular with 7,228 views and 168 comments.  Diane owns the Art of Craft Store in New Zealand and sells a bunch of our products and has a SALE on now for those of you over that way.

Here are a couple of photos from the Creative Stitches & Craft Show we were at on Fri & Sat.  We made some wonderful new friends and got to catch up with a bunch of fave regular customers.    I also got to meet Elizabeth ( I love rubber ) from Splitcoast and she was so sweet to bring me a bunch of cool cards she's made with our Clear Art Stamps.  Past DT Member Marisa Grosson also came to the show and brought me fantastic samples.

We were so lucky to have Thanh and Odessa back again this year to visit and also help us pack up!  Scott was thrilled as there was a Canucks hockey game on TV and we were packed up in time for him to watch 2 periods. That's Jessica with Scott below who is coming back to work in our office until classes start in Sept as Denisa landed a really great job.

Okay I have way too much in this post and may have lost a bunch of you by now but I wanted to give a quick update.  I need to change the status that says I'm discontinuing our Clear Art Stamps.  I was stressed when I announced it and 99% of you said NO, you still want our regular stamps to continue. We obviously don't sell to many digi stampers at the moment so I've set the Digi Stamps aside for a bit to focus on selling off sets that are not great sellers (will post a low & discontinued list next time) and we are working on wrapping up CD # 3,  NEW Stamp Designs, some New Surprise Products.  Our All Dolled Up Stamps should arrive this week and New Easter Scraps next week!

Until next time, wishing you joy & creativity
Sandy

Sparkle Winner, Thanks are Due and Samples with our Vintage Birds!

Hi Everyone,

I posted the winner for our Sparkle Challenge on Splitcoast earlier today and then got carried away with all the samples I wanted to add to this post - which is packed full of inspiring birdy samples!  Congratulations to # 15 Leanne Pugliese. I was going to host a new challenge but we are working on 4 new products & everyone is busy with Christmas coming, so we will take a break.

I wrote down all the names - minus mine and DT ladies Vicki & Victoria which left 18 other entries. My mom walked in the office and picked #15 (her birthday) and then I did the random.org anyways as I had it on my computer screen and it also picked 15, so congrats Leanne who decorated these cute Altoid tins to hold a little cash gift for her nieces.

The regular ladies who have been hosting the Crafty Secrets Challenges at Splitcoast have been doing it for - years literally and I owe them all a HUGE THANK YOU!!! This last post was the 200th Challenge and they have created so many fabulous samples you can see in their galleries below that have inspired 1000's of people. Plus visit the Gallery Here to see all the Entries!

Darlene (aka akronstamperdpk) has been taking turns hosting for years and as this is a 'Bird Theme Post' I picked this card from Darlene's Gallery to show you using an image from our Christmas Booklet as I like the way she added the 3D snow and embellishments.

How about this beautiful card by long time challenge hostess Marcy Talbert (kiddielitter) at Splitcoast.  I love the way Marcy colored this image and the sentiment from our Fairyland Stamp set to match the pretty paper she used.

Lori Lynn Washburn has also been a regular hostess for Crafty Secrets Challenges at Splitcoast and I adore the way she used a birdy image from our Little Blessings Creative Scraps with our Rose Stamp in the background.

Joanne Allison (aka angelnorth) has also helped host the CS challenges and a regular contributor. I picked this cool sample from Joanne's gallery because I love the way she wired it all together and colored the stamps from our Bird Notes and eggs from Farm Chicks Stamps.

Cynthia (aka stampinAK) has also helped host and is a regular contributor to the challenges and I picked this great inked and stitched card from her gallery using our first ever and still very popular sets Bird Notes.

Karen Wallace has been a regular contributor to our Challenges at Splitcoast and has made some fabulous samples. I picked this cool B&W card she made with our Birdies set because I love the contrast and the way she got the branch stamps to join up.

Elizabeth, (aka: I love rubber) has been a long time contributor to our Splitcoast challenges and has created some fantastic samples like this one with the ever popular 'birds on branch' from our Bird Notes Stamp set.

Marlene (aka: cards4u) has also been a long term supporter and past Guest Designer and I picked this cute band-aid tin she decorated with our Feeling Yucky stamp set. You gotta love the crying duck, especially with Glossy Accents on the tears!

Pammyjo was a regular contributor to many of our CS Challenges and we miss her and wonder what she has been up to.  So Pammy if you per chance read this, please email me so I can send you a little holiday gift. Here is a peek at Pammy's gallery where I found this pretty card with an image from our Birds & Botanicals Booklet (also on our Bird Scraps).

Okay, I will be back later this week with some more fabulous Birdy samples from our talented Design Team Ladies - but I have to share this very cool post DT Leader Vicki Chrisman posted and a link to the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Giveaway she is hosting where you can see very cute Christmas cards she created with our Retro Christmas Cuts.  Also see the great digital vintage layouts and the BIRDY APRON Vicki's friend Gabby created with egg image from new CD # 2!

Here is a link to see a bunch more beautiful birdy theme samples in our Splitcoast Gallery using our products.  Note: our Bird Cotton Scraps are sold out if you spot samples.

No time to add all the links as I'm hosting a big party for my 3 year old nephew but I will come back and add the rest later.  Update: Party was a great and links added.

Wishing you joy & creativity
