Exciting News, Birds and Blooms Printable Papers, DT Samples and Show Photos

Hi Everyone,

APRIL 1/15 UPDATE:  I guess I got carried away as I was excited and didn't explain the details with the store where we will have our items for sale and consequently I've had nothing but grief since with getting across the border as the Dept of USA Immigration now feels I am moving to the USA illegally to run this store.  Lyssa, my shipper will be working at the store filling all our online orders and selling left over stock as well as the vintage items that were at the Lynden Craft and Antique Show. The store is Red Barn Jewelry and Stacia the owner has been so wonderful about having our products in her store and Lyssa will be selling Stacia's beautiful Jewelry as well. The photo below is of the store and I digitally pasted our logo to cover up the Christmas tree in the photo. We will have a Crafty Vintage Girl Sign hanging over the door with Stacia's Red Barn Jewelry Sign. I hope this will clear up the misunderstanding with the USA Immigration Dept.  As many of you already know I live and work from my home office in Canada and USA orders have always been sent from the little warehouse space I rented in Blaine, WA by Shelley (my old shipper) then for the past year by Lyssa. I have no plans to move to the USA or work in the store!

PS - you should check out Stacia's wonderful jewelry and read the story about how she donates 15% of all her sales to help children in a village in Thailand

Orginal Post:

I'm so excited to say we are moving from my dumpy and tiny warehouse to a store in downtown Bellingham WA until the end of June and I will post all the details and photos next week after we move in!I also have a bunch of wonderful samples by our Design Team Ladies and some photos from the show we attended last week.

Here is our NEW Printable Paper Collection ' Birds and Blooms' designed by our very own DT Member Sheila Rumney!  This beautiful set includes a great mix of 24 pastel hue papers with birds and flowers and will sell for $7.95.

The papers are saved as 300 dpi jpg files and the download is divided into 2 folders.

Here's a preview of all 24 designs.

Sheila also made this sweet card in a series of sewing theme cards she created using our Sew Nice Scraps

Check out this very cool chicken card by DT Leader Kathy Clement created with our new Farm Chicks Digital Stamp Set. It includes the same designs as the past Clear Farm Chicks Set (which has sold out now) but there are 16 NEW designs added and everything is larger, so much more fun to color and play with.

How about this adorable Easter card by DT Member Michele Kovack she created using our Bunny Hop Digital Stamp Set. The pretty blue paper is from our CD #1 Creating With Vintage Patterns and I love the flower and eggs she added.

It looks like this bunny in the 'egg balloon' design attracted DT Member Shantaie Fowler as well as she used the same design and I love her bright colors and sky!

I adore this pretty set of 4 floral birthday cards DT Member Melody Clement created using our CD # 2 Creating With Vintage Illustrations. You can see the other cards and details on Melody's Blog.

Here's a few photos from the Lynden Craft and Antique Show we sold at last week.  The booth was so packed most of the time so I forgot to get good photos before many things sold. I'm down to less that 4 trays of letterpress wood letters now from the 10 trays I had. My mom's blue Victorian planter sold for $75.00 as well as many other items. I loved the ladies who run this show Judy and Trudy. They fed us chili dogs on set up day, had live music and coffee and toast for vendors each morning!

The Lavender House had a fabulous booth and they are having a Vintage Market Show July 24-25 in Lynden, WA

As well, Up Junk Creek had a great booth as well as so many vendors who went all out.

There were a bunch of booths selling plants and funky garden art, perfect for Spring

Lastly,  I will be introducing a new DT Member next week and the next item to be added is our Hardware Digital Stamp Set which has sold out and is going to have some amazing BIG hardware added in knobs, hinges, keys and more!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Go Green! March Linky Party, DT Challenge & Giveaway!

Hello Friends!  Welcome to the Crafty Secrets March 2015 Linky Party, DT Challenge and a great Spring Giveaway!  I think everyone is ready for a little dose of Springtime right about now, so our theme for the design team challenge this month is "GO GREEN!"  We are featuring flowers, green growing things, garden journals, St. Patrick's Day projects or Easter projects this month.  The unifying theme is GREEN.  And just to make the design team put on their thinking caps, we added in an optional challenge of using something recycled or "upcycled" in our projects.  What fun!  I've had a sneaky peek at all the wonderful projects this month, and I know you are going to be thrilled!

Sandy also has a wonderful Spring Giveaway for a lucky winner who will be announced next Monday, March 9/15. To enter just leave a comment and say what your favorites are in this gift pack.

You don't need to follow the theme this month in order to join the Linky Party, but it's always fun when you do.  We make it easy for you to join the festivities by providing you with a free download that you can use to make up your project, if you wish.  Here's the 2 free downloads for this month's party.

This beautiful paper is from our Digital Garden Paper Kit and the sweet little girl is from our Garden Girls Digital Art Stamp Set.  To download, simply click on the image and save to your computer.  We can't wait to see what you make with this month's free gift!

And what fun is a party without prizes?  This month's prize is really fantastic!  One lucky participant will win a wonderful prize pack.  One quick note about prize eligibility: You can use any product or theme you choose to join the Linky Party, but to be eligible to win the prize pack, you must use Crafty Secrets products in your entry.

Now, take a look at the fabulous prize package we have for you this month:

Our digital Garden paper pack with 18 sheets of garden themed designer papers, includes two sheets of seed packet images, vintage garden catalog sheets, a garden maze and beautiful botanical papers.

In addition, you will receive our gorgeous Digital Garden Printables  with 16 ready to print images in a re-sizeable format.   These are some of my very favorite Crafty Secrets images, and I think you will love them, too!

And that's not all!  To help you get ready for the Easter Bunny, we will include our darling Bunny Kids Gift Bag and Tag Set.  These would be so cute on the table at your Easter celebration.

That's a prize package that's worth more than $25, so you will definitely want to join in the fun!

OK...now that the details are out of the way, let's get this party started and see how our design team has met this month's challenge.

We have a lovely guest designer joining us this month.  Karen Letchworth is the blog administrator over at Word Art Wednesday.  Her personal blog, My Cup Runneth Over features Karen's delightful vintage cards and projects.  You'll definitely want to check it out.  Let's meet Karen!

My name is Karen Letchworth, and I'm honored to be Guest Designing this month for Crafty Secrets.  I've been in love with Crafty Secrets for as long as I can remember, and really enjoy working with their sweet products.  I retired from a hospital administration job a few years ago; and now enjoy being a home-schooling Mom, wife of 30 years to a handsome police officer, and spending lots of time in my craft room.  I hope you will stop by my blog, My Cup Runneth Over, and that you will all be sure to play along in this month's Crafty Secrets Linky Party.  I can't wait to see all your sweet Crafty Secrets projects!

Karen used our beautiful Friends and Flowers Vintage Cuts on the focal of her pretty card.  Visit Karen's Blog to see all the details and to get her tutorial on how to use tea stain to add the perfect vintage vibe to your projects.

As DT Leader, I did some serious upcycling by adding paint and texture to a cardboard fruit basket and filling it with decoupaged eggs.  The papers are all from the beautiful Garden Papers Kit and you can see my blog post with the details on how I put this fun project together.

Darlene Pavlick came up with the most creative upcycling project!  I just love this wonderful planter she created using our Digital Garden Papers Kit!  I'm not going to spoil the fun and tell you what she used to make this!  You'll just have to visit her wonderful blog, Dar's Crafty Creations to find out!

Diane Hover from Nellie's Nest wows us once again with this frilly, festive and fun trio of Easter Baskets she created using the  Birds and Blossoms Digital Creative Scraps with a great Image Transfer Technique and and Tutorial!  You have to check out her photos to see how the images become semi transparent and blend into the painted pots so well.

Elizabeth Lincoln has a wonderful tutorial on how she created this 12" pillow shaped gift box with this glorious collage featuring our Vegetable Garden Digital Art Stamps!  I am just swooning over the sweet little watering can and garden implements she's added.  You can learn how she pulled it all together on Elizabeth's Blog - Paper Pass Times.

Ginny Nemchak gave a Plain Jane notebook a major facelift by combining these sweet images from our Best Buds  postcard set with papers from our Retro Christmas and Vintage Typography CDs.  She'll show you how she combined all these fabby layers at her Polly's Paper Blog.

Gloria Stengel made an accordion fold home decor/mini album using some really fun bits of "trash" that she turned into treasures.  She used papers from all our CD's along with our pretty Love Mail Scraps.  If you visit Gloria's Scraps of Life Blog she'll share her tutorial for making this gorgeous bit of home decor and links to all the products she used.

Melody Clement created this super cute Easter Basket using our Adorable Easter Eggs Digital Prints and a stamp from our Spring Chicks Digital Art Stamps.  Take a little trip over to Paper Melody's Blog for all the details.

With Saint Patrick's Day right around the corner, Michele Kovack created a stunning greeting card using an image from Seasonal Vintage Image and Journal Booklet and printable papers from the Garden Collection.  Pop over to Thoughts of a Cardmaking Scrapbooker to get all the insider information on Michele's beautiful card.

If you've always wondered where the Easter Bunny lives, well, Shantaie Fowler has the inside scoop!  She created this wonderfully whimsical bunny village using our Double Sided Papers and Spring Bunnies Digital Art Stamps.  Hop on over to Shantaie's Inking Pink Blog to learn what surprising item she used as the base for her bunny houses.

Doesn't this gorgeous bottle look as though it came straight from a Victorian lady's dressing table?  Sheila Rumney used the jeweled butterfly and some pretty roses from our CD#2 Creating With Vintage Illustrations and shows how to add script writing from the Artsy Banner set behind the roses, erase parts and create an altered label.  Check out her Photoshop tutorial at Shelia Rumney Design and Photography.

February Linky Party Winner, DT samples and SALE

Hello, Friends!

I'm just popping in very quickly today to announce the winner of our February Linky Party.  We had some great entries this month, and it was exciting to have some brand new players join us as well.  Many of you used the free downloadable images to create beautiful projects, and I thought I would share a few here as inspiration.  But before I do that, I know you all want to know who won this month!  Drumroll, please....

...and the winner is: #9!!!  Sierra Winters!  Sierra used our sweet Valentine girl image to create a lovely little gift box:

Isn't it darling?  Sierra, Sandy will be contacting you with a code you can use to receive your prize package: the entire Vintage Valentine Digital Kit, and if I know Sandy, she'll throw some other yummy goodies in there, too!  Sierra has a lovely blog called Sierra's Gift: My Place to Share and I'm sure she'd love it if you stopped by to pay her a visit!  Thanks for playing along, Sierra!  We hope you will become a regular participant in the Linky Parties, as we just love your work!

Now, for some Design Team Inspiration.  I think everyone I know is hunkered down in their crafty space waiting out this stormy, cold winter.  I know I have been...and I would truly have cabin fever if it weren't for my crafty goodies.

Kathy was guest designer at Word Art Wednesday last week where she shared this cute card made from the Homemade Vintage Booklet.  Sandy generously sponsored the challenge there last week.  Don't you just love these rascally boys in their chef's caps?  They look like they are ready to stir up some fun!

DT Member Sheila made this beautiful card using images from our Digtal Birds and Blossoms Creative Scraps.  Now that these are digital, you can size them any way you need them, which gives you so much more versatility.

Ginny made this fabulous card using images and papers from our Typography CD.  I just love the way she's layered all the different papers and used a doily to make those chickens just pop off the page!

Using our Victorian Easter Eggs as a card focal is such a great idea!  Dar added some sweet details and a little light distressing to make this gorgeous card!

This card from Diane is like a much needed dose of springtime!  She combined our wild roses digital paper with this cheeky bird from Birds and Blossoms Scraps.  Adding that crown and gorgeous handmade flower along with the cheery bow and pom poms really makes this card a winner!

I always love Shantaie's fresh approach to vintage.  This adorable tag is just loaded with texture and fun embellies.  She used our Digital Valentine Kit and fun little calendar pieces from our Calendar Seasonal Scraps.

This divine shabby chic card from DT Member Melody uses layers and layers from our Love Mail Scraps.  I love the light distressing and hand made roses on this pretty, pretty card!

If you're looking to add some new supplies to your crafty stash, you might want to check out the amazing sale Sandy has going on in the store right now.  Take a look at all the goodies that are on sale!

Many of these items are the last ones available, as Sandy moves out of her warehouse and goes completely digital.  There are so many wonderful products available here, and if you're like me, you'll want to stock up!  Make the most of your indoor time and create something beautiful to lift your spirits.  Before you know it, spring will be here!

Thanks for stopping by!

On behalf of Sandy Redburn, I wish you joy and creativity!

Flea Market Show, Pretty DT Samples and Linky Winner!

Hi Everyone,

We went to the Vintage and Revamped Market Show in Cloverdale, BC on Saturday and enjoyed it so much I took a bunch of photos to share today and include with our Design Team's latest creations and our lucky April Linky Winner.  I will do my big Mother's Day Post Tuesday as no room to fit it in here.

Everyone who enters our Linky Parties (first Monday each month) receive a $6.00 coupon and 1 lucky random.org winners gets a $50.00 Crafty Secrets Gift Certificate. This month congratulations goes to #4 Theresa who entered 3 projects. Note: you can enter up to 4 samples and increase your odds of winning but it's only one $6.00 coupon per person.

What did I buy at the Show?  Silver plated teapots and earrings made from cutlery. Our youngest daughter Chelsea is getting married this Sept and her 2 best friends Brenda and Kristy have started a wedding consulting business www.aydaproductions.com so I grabbed these 3 silver teapots to hold flowers for Chelsea's wedding and for Brenda and Kristy to use.  $40.00 for all 3 = $13.50 each.  I polished them up for this photo, now imagine them filled with roses and greenery for an outdoor wedding!

I'm smitten with gold and brown tones lately but I still love silver and fell for these dainty earrings that Tom creates from vintage silverware.  For $15.00 I felt they were a great early Mothers Day gift from Scott and he was there to approve. I love that Tom includes the name of the pattern and year. He must have made these from tiny dessert or cocktail cutlery as they are so dainty.

Mixed media artist and teacher Linda Lock  was there with some beautiful painted furniture and info on painting classes she offers in her seaside studio store in White Rock BC.  I took painting classes from Linda about 15 years ago and can promise she is a fantastic teacher, plus she now offers a line of great home decor paint and design stencils.

At the Nostalic Nest booth I fell in love with this seaside oil painting but Scott was not into  it and no matter what I said I couldn't convince him that $75.00 was a good value for an original oil in a vintage window frame.  Anyways, I want him to love what ever comes into our house so I passed on it but looking at it now makes me a little sad.  Does anyone else love this painting or am I nuts??

I also wanted to buy this sassy table for our middle daughter Holly who just moved to a cute house and loves champagne.  It already sold and I was already over my budget so I took a photo to show her I thought of her.

I can't find the name for this booth below that was on the far left wall but I loved their workmanship and creative imagination!  Both of these desks were so unique, one crafted from an old printers drawer and the other from vintage yardsticks and both on old sewing machine bases.

MonicaStacy.com had some beautiful pieces. Check out this stylish black cupboard below with the decoupage poster of the Eiffel Tower.

This dresser by Debra's Originals was really striking and it was sold and gone the next time we walked past. I was so impressed with her gold script freehand writing.

If you click on the photo you can see how the writing is actually 3D and I think Debra did it with a gold leaf overlay. It was beautiful!

Okay, now onto some fabulous samples by our Design Team ladies!

DT Member Kathy Clement has been delving into mixed media and playing with all sorts of painting, inking and distressing techniques and explains step by step what she used and did to create this altered art canvas.  You have to see Kathy's close up photos to see how she curled and distressed papers to achieve great layers of antique vintage charm. The papers, banner, bingo card, postcard, etc are all from our Typography CD # 3

DT Member Vicki Chrisman posted these pretty blue frames and added some of our Printable Eggs and  Vicki also used our Spring Bunnies Digital Stamp Download to make some cute plant pokes, or add to a basket or use as a cake topper.

We have 3 Digital Easter Egg Downloads and if you missed the Stitched Eggs Vicki made  with the Adorable Set you should check them out.

DT Member Darlene Pavlick used this botanical rose from our Garden Printable Download and curled and distressed the edges to create this pretty Mother's Day card with vintage flair.

DT Member Sheila Rumney used papers and a rose from Sew Decortaive CD # 7, along with the 'Birthday Wishes' stamp from our Digital Garden Girls Download to create this E-card and Tutorial  using Photoshop Elements. The flower is all cut out, so once you learn how to crop, paste and layer, you can create a card quickly to email for a friends birthday. I love Sheila's TIP: save a PSD file so you can return anytime and quickly make changes to suit a new occasion.

Look at this adorable Feel Better card that DT Member Elizabeth Lincoln made using our Feeling Yucky Digital Stamps with paper and cherries from CD #1 Creating with Vintage Patterns. I love how she added Diamond Glaze to the cherries and made cherry cough syrup for the spoon!  Duckie inside card are from

Lastly, look at Mrs Bunny by DT Member Cherry Nelson

I will be back tomorrow with a Mother's Day post filled with inspiring samples and links to freebies

Thanks so much for your support and feedback, it's truly appreciated!
