All You Need is Love for the February Linky Party and DT Challenge

Hello Friends!

Welcome to the Crafty Secrets February Linky Party!  This month we're throwing a virtual Valentine Party and you are invited along as our guests of honor!  Create some cute Valentines for friends and family, create a romantic layout, or make “off the page projects”for home décor. Incorporate music or words to a song somewhere in your project.  (Songbirds would work here, too!) You do not need to follow this theme to play along, but it's always fun if you do.

Before we get to the fabulous projects that the team has prepared for you, I have some great news to share with you! Sandy Redburn, owner of Crafty Secrets has been doing some cleaning in the warehouse and found some items that she thought were out of stock, and then she got out her red pen and slashed tons of prices in the Crafty Secrets online store.  Take a look:

I don't know about you....but I feel a shopping spree coming on!  LOL  Now, on with the Linky Party!

We have a special Guest Designer this month.   Our dear friend, and former DT leader, Vicki Chrisman  created these elegant Valentines using papers and images from our Vintage Valentine Digital kit.  Ooo-la-la!

Chocolate and Valentines day go together like love and marriage!  That's why Darlene Pavlick created this gorgeous candy box using the Vintage Valentine Kit. Dar will show you how she made this pretty box in the tutorial on her blog.

She combined our Party Cats digital stamps with the Vintage Valentine kit.  This darling concertina card is loaded with fun details, and Elizabeth's tutorial will guide you through the steps so you can make your own.

DT Leader Kathy Clement   (that's me) altered a wooden heart frame using images and papers from the Vintage Valentine Kit.  This would be so pretty on the mantle or table. I have a step by step tutorial showing how she put this wall hanging together.

Michele Kovack used the pretty musical note paper from the kit to alter these Jelly Belly Boxes.  How cute are these?  I love the sequins! I can't wait to read Michele's blog and find out how she made these!

This striking black and red Valentine from Shantaie Fowler was made with our beautiful Heart to Heart Digital Stamp set.  Isn't it classy? Shantaie always shares great creative tips in her blog posts.

Sheila Rumney's soft romantic Valentine uses images from our Birds and Blossoms Creative Scraps and our Be My Valentine Digital Stamps.  I'm sure Sheila will be sharing a look at how she created this beautiful card.

Love Giveaway, Linky Winner, New Samples and Digital Stamp Sets

Hi Everyone,  *** I need to come back and add all the links later as my dad is in so much pain I need to take him to emergency.  UPDATE: Sadly, he passed away peacefully at the hospital tonight.

We have a Giveaway for Digital Love/Valentine Package which is also on special for $21.50 and you can save over $10.00. To enter to WIN all these items just leave a comment here and a random.org winner will be announced on Monday

Congratulations to our January Linky Party Winner , # 1 Jo Willis from the UK and a big thank you to everyone who entered all the fabulous samples and received a $6.00 coupon.

Did you get our Free Valentine Printable with '10 Things I Love About' last year? This is a cute layout Cindy van Koll created for my niece using the list with paper and images from our Valentine Kit. It's actually Arissa's 4th birthday today and I'm having a family pizza party here tonight for her.

With Christmas over, our Design Team ladies are getting in the mood for Valentines and Spring so you will be seeing a bunch of great new samples popping up and new specials like our new Free Digital Download Chandelier Fun you can add to your basket with any purchase and it comes with the sample Idea Sheet.

DT Leader Kathy Clement used our Digital Heart to Heart Stamps to create this pretty layered card

Kathy also made this cool embossed card for her challenge with Really Reasonable Ribbon using a Tattered Angels Jumbo 12" x 12" Stamp Set on special for $8.50!
I bought a skid of 600 of these stamp sets when they discontinued all the 'extra' products and it's a great set as the back sheet works as the stamp block to hold the stamps.  Just cut around each design.

Lovely birthday card Vicki made for her sister using our CD 2 Creating With Vintage Illustrations

Great Snow Girl card by Michele Kovack using Winter Wishes

Elizabeth Lincoln these pink  support cards for her friends who just got diagnosed with breast cancer using our Support the Girls Digital Set.  Sadly, it seems to be growing much more common. Thank goodness the cure rate has improved

I also adore this cute mouse card Elizabeth made for a sick child in a card group she belongs to.  The little girl loves animals and this should make her smile using digital stamp sets Cutie Cats (mouse) and Sweet Stuff  Digital set for the cupcake

UPDATE: I've come back and finished adding all the links and the 4 new Digital Stamp Sets.

This is our free Chandelier Fun Digital set  with any order until end of January, just add it to your cart You can also see samples with the links to  Sew Special Digital Set  ,  Sing For Joy , and Home Sweet Home

Sadly my dad did pass away tonight. My mom and dad have a suite downstairs (with us  for over 25 years) and he felt so sick I was going to take him to Emergency this afternoon and realized he was too weak for me to get him in the car by myself so I called an ambulance and while we were waiting it seemed like he had a stroke. They intubated him and he was on life support until this evening and my mom had them take the tube out he passed away peacefully within a few minutes. All our family was there with him when he passed but I came back here to stay with my niece and nephew (my mom baby sits them during day).

His health had really declined since Sept and he stopped driving but he did celebrate his 85th birthday with all his family and close friends here and his favorite foods – Kentucky Fried chicken and my mom’s trifle. It’s such a drag that it happened on my niece Arissa’s birthday as she turned 4 today and I had a family pizza party planned here for her. I still had everyone over after they came back from the hospital. Her Grandpa would have wanted that as he watched Arissa help Grandma bake the cake and cupcakes yesterday and knew how excited she was.

Thanks so much to everyone for your kind words, prayers and condolences to our family.

Please don't let this stop you from entering our Love Giveaway!

New Heart Digital Stamps, Valentine Winner, my New Grand-Pup and Girls

Hi Everyone,

Here is our new Heart to Heart Digital Art Stamp Set and I'm so in love with this $9.95 set!  I need to play and make something so you can see how cool the hearts are. At full size they are 5" tall but you can shrink them for smaller projects. There are 17 separate PNG stamp designs in total that you can print on a variety of surfaces from card stock, fabric, label sheets to iron-on sheets and more!

The details with all the layers Cindy added to the hearts makes each one like a little piece of art!  I noticed before I was about to do this post that one of the hearts needs to be fixed as it's a PNG file and should be transparent, but if you look you will see white in the bird below I highlighted . We will get this file replaced tomorrow (Tues).  UPDATE: It's Fixed!
We have a winner in our Digital Valentine Giveaway , # 8 Rema who WON our new Heart to Heart Set, our Be My Valentine Stamps, our Vintage Valentine Digital Paper & Card Kit, and our Victorian Rose Printables!

Here are some samples made with our Valentine Paper and Card Digital Download Kit.  The great thing with digital is the download is instant after you buy it, you can shrink designs down for smaller projects and print on so many surfaces - as many times as you want!

I'm in love with this gate fold card DT Member Darlene Pavlick created using our Valentine Kit.  You have to see the inside photos and other samples she has HERE on her Blog.

Darlene Pavlick also made made this cute gift by gluing some of the red sheet music and images to a plastic container. If you want to make up multiple 'love packs', consider buying your candy in bulk and you can often find glass and tin items you can recycle, or visit a dollar store and turn a plain glass jar into a special gift with homespun personality!

I just came across this cute sample by Julie Campbell she made with the Kit last year. Check your craft stash as glitter, gems, lace, ribbon and paper doilies all make great Valentine embellishments.

DT Member Michele Kovack created this pretty card using papers from Patterns CD #1 and the tag is from the Valentine Kit.

I would like to introduce you to my new 'grand-pup' Ralph!  Our daughter Holly is his lucky new mom and they both seem smitten with each other already. He is an Affenpinscher and is such a cutie!

Our girls gave us a wonderful Christmas gift we used this weekend, tickets to Plated and Paired, a wine and food tasting event at Granville Island in Vancouver and a hotel room! It was so much fun with a bunch of yummy food and 30 wineries  Scott and I spent all weekend in the city and stayed overnight at friends on Sat to celebrate a dear friend's 60th! Where did the years go??

Tickets were around $35.00 but everything was included with live entertainment including these ladies who walked around all night on stilts and my favorite - the candy lady.  Wouldn't this make the best costume! The dishes were glued on and filled with candies.

I think it would be too confusing to add another Giveaway to this post (plus my post got way too long) so I have all the printed love themed Giveaway items ready to post tomorrow with my annual post to my my Favorite Decorating Store CHINTZ  and COMPANY!  Their store is amazing and I got a bunch of great photos.

Wishing you joy & creativity

New Giveaway for Vintage Valentine Digital Stamps, Kit & Victorian Rose Cards!

Hi Everyone,

I have another fun Giveaway, this time for 4 items with our New 'Be My Valentine'  Digital Stamp Set and  our NEW Victorian Rose Cards Printables for $2.95 with 6 super pretty graphics filled with roses, plus our Valentine Digital Kit.  I will post the fourth item this Monday as it's not quite finished but will be a Large Digital Stamp Set called Heart to Heart with 6 eclectic hearts in a collage style, keys, a lock and a bunch of great quotes for $9.95.  Leave a comment here and I will post a random.org winner on Mon afternoon, Jan 21 when I show our new stamp set.

I held up our Be My Valentine Digital Stamps because I decided they would be easier for many people to use if some of the images were pre-colored red.  So now every files comes in B&W and RED so you can choose which to print if you don't know how to change colors.  I am totally in LOVE with how BIG some of the images are on this set!  You can shrink them down for smaller projects but these will be be great to add to scrapbook pages or print on fabric for fun projects.  I will be posting some samples next week as our DT ladies just received these today.  These are $9.95 with 20 separate digital stamp designs!

I love how pretty these printable sheets turned out with 6 super pretty graphics filled with roses adapted from a book of old calling cards I have from the late 1800's. Our Victorian Rose Cards Printable $2.95 Download includes 3 sheets (8.5" x 11") with 6 printable cards 4.75 x 6.75” each.  You can print on a variety of mediums to create tags, greeting cards, place cards, iron-on designs, accents for scrapbook pages, print them on label paper for stationary and more! Shrink the designs small and add Diamond Glaze and glitter to create Victorian pins, pendants and charms. This is a new product but visit our blog to see more samples that our talented Design Team will be creating!

DT Leader Vicki Chrisman whipped these pretty samples up for me this morning

I promise - we are going to start a bunch more tutorials with step by step tips!  First, we have 1 more love theme digital stamp set debuting on Monday, Heart to Heart, filled with 6 eclectic style collage hearts (I've wanted hearts like this forever) and these are are about 5" tall, with keys, a lock and special quotes from the heart. We are not adding any Valentine sentiments so it works year round.

So leave a comment here to be entered to WIN and a random.org winner will be announced Mon, Jan 21/13 to win: our Valentine Kit, Be Mine Valentine Digital Stamp Set, Victorian Rose Card Printables and our new Heart to Heart Digital Stamp Set debuting on Monday.

I'm also going to put together a special LOVE Package on Monday of printed items and stamps that will include our Love Mail Creative Scraps, Romance Cuts  , Romance Homespun Cotton Scraps a Clear Art Stamp set - but sadly our Valentine Stickers just sold out.

Wishing you joy & creativity

Valentine Printables, Ideas, Samples & Vintage Valentine $5.00 E-Kit!

Hi Everyone,

I have details on our New Vintage Valentine Download Kit and our 2012 Free Printable Valentine Gift for you - plus links to 4 past years of Valentine Printables (at the end). Also some great samples, and if you missed it, a link to my List of 32 Creative Places to Say I LOVE YOU!  .

You can order our NEW Vintage Valentine Downloadable Kit now (free S&H) and we will start emailing them Friday afternoon. This kit grew as I had so many fun images I wanted to include!  You get all of the pages shown below and the only item missing is the envelope template. Plus the download will include inspiring samples (see some farther below)!

Click each image to see them larger. High res files at 300 ppi (pixels per inch) means you can print small to jumbo sized images! That's the best part of digital - it's so versatile. You can print on any medium and change the size.

Here are the 5 paper designs in the kit. I wish Valentines was farther away so we could make a Valentine Clear Art Stamp set. Please leave a comment if you want clear Valentines stamps like the page below? There are 2 Digi Stamps in the Kit and we couldn't fit all on a large stamp set -so which do you like best?

Look at these gift pretty tags & card backs

Then there is a Valentine Postcard front and back,  a coupon, a digi stamp and the 2 hearts can decorate napkin holders, party crackers and a host of projects.

Here are 2 cute cards or invitations and I adore these little animals but the artwork was badly colored and so fine I don't know if Cindy can turn them into stamps but I know ladies who love our Bug's Life and Bunny Stamps (like Sophie, Elizabeth, Marcy and others) have all asked for more animals stamps.

We had to include a cupcake wrapper and some little hearts to dress them up. I've seen cupcake wrappers printed on paper, with hole punched edges and turned into tiny lamp shades for mini party lights. We made it big enough so you can use decorative scissors to trim the edge if you don't want to bother cutting the scallops out.

Here is a second party invitation set up to print 2 on 8.5" x 11" paper.

Finally, this cute little cupcake girl who can be a card, invitation or a centerpiece for a table.

DT Leader Vicki Chrisman started creating some samples but I am so sad to say after just losing her dear mother last week, her much beloved dog Aly passed away yesterday.  That dog was like Vicki's shadow and followed her every move.  Vicki wants to take her mind off her sorrow and has been busy creating more samples that we will add to the Valentine Kit.

Look at the cute banner she made with images from 1 of the image sheets and 2 papers.

Here are 2 tags, perfect for tying on gifts and Vicki added one to a jar of chocolates. There are all kinds of containers to fit every budget and you can quickly re-purpose recycled containers by adding some paper, ribbon and a cute tag. Raid your supply stash for embellishments from buttons, broken jewelry, lace, glitter, little flowers found at craft, dollar and thrift stores. Fill with edible treats or package pamper items like mini travel soap & lotion.

Vicki also used used some of the tags to create this little memory album by gluing a piece of ribbon across the back. of 4 tags printed on cardstock.

How adorable is the layout she whipped up with her son Jared & girlfriend Kate. There will be more samples posted on the blog and our Facebook page and we would love to see photos of what you create if you order the kit you can post any projects on our Facebook page.

Okay - now for our Free Printable Valentine Gift just left click the image below until it gets as big as possible and  right click it to save to a picture file. It's huge enough to use on a scrapbook page.  Please remember our Vintage Printables Gifts are for personal use only. Someone was trying to sell them.

This image will also work great to transform a plain box into a special Valentine keepsake or gift  box.  Print the image above on paper or cardstock, cut out the heart and trace the shape on 2 pieces of chipboard or heavy cardstock.  Paint or cover the bottom and sides of the box with complimentary paper and glue the the image to the top heart shape and attach to the box as shown.
I'm not sure if Lisa Zappa  re-vamped an old chocolate box or made one for this sample she made a few years ago but I love her fun colors and crepe paper.  The word Love is from our Cherish stamp set is part of one of the digital stamps in the Valentine Kit 'To Show my Love', from an 1800's Valentine and if I ever got a tattoo it would be this LOVE lettering.

Here are the other links from past years with a Valentine-Love theme.

Valentine Postcard

Also look at this cute card Michele Kovack created using a month from our free printable 2012 Calendar download.  The image is from our Calendar Scraps which are on Clearance Sale for $1.50 as only 7 months work this year but there are several fabulous seasonal images

Here is a pretty little card by DT Member Viola Mahr using an image (jar) from our Homeade Booklet and the small cutlery from Kitchen Classics Stamps. Paper is from CD # 1.

I still have to hook up my new printer and give the results, hopefully this weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend!
