Meet Our New Design Team Members and Come See Us in TX!

Hi Everyone,

Here is the list of our NEW Design Team Members!  This was very difficult as we had 61 applications and so many great submissions. I was only going to add 5 people and ended up adding 8 new members.

A big thanks to everyone who applied and I apologize for not writing you all back individually but it has been a little crazy the last couple of weeks!

Some of these ladies will be focusing on digital & hybrid projects using our new CD, Creating with Vintage Papers.   Our first small shipment arrived for the show and a new shipment is expected next week for our online store.

Please Welcome...

These current members of our Design Team and will continue for the bext term.

Design Team Call, CD Peek, Winner for Blog Giveaway & TX Make & Take Samples!

I sent out our main newsletter yesterday to 9115 subscribers but I wish everyone could subscribe to this blog so they didn't miss giveaways and all the fantastic samples posted here.  Today I have a Design Team Call to announce, a peek at our new CD, a random.org Blog Giveaway Winner, plus  some cool samples to show you for our Make & Take at the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington TX, June 2-4/11.

This is our first time publicly doing a Design Team Call as I usually get to know each designer after falling in love with samples I’ve seen that they have created with Heartwarming Vintage Collection of images or our Clear Art Stamps, and often they use both.  Many of our DT ladies have been with us for years but we have space to add more people and we are also starting a new Digital & Hybrid Design Team for our first in a series of CD’s. Our first CD is titled Creating with Vintage Patterns (available May 30/11).  Creating with Vintage Images and Creating with Vintage Typography will follow. Click on the photo to see it larger.

Crafty Secrets Design Team Call!

We are looking for talented and enthusiastic paper crafters, stampers and digital designers who love vintage and have time to commit to designing samples each month using our products and to promote our products online and be an inspiration to others!

This is a 6 month position running from June 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011. Team members off both teams can reapply for 2012. This call is open to English speaking residents worldwide. Deadline to submit is May 28/11.
Please email submissions to sandy@craftysecrets.com

Design Team Members Are Responsible For:

1) Posting 4 projects per month on your blog using primarily Crafty Secrets Products and the ability to include any helpful instructions, quality photos (listing and linking to Crafty Secrets products in your posts).

2) Participation in our monthly challenge in a Blog Hop with the other DT members and sometimes other companies. The dates for each challenge are given 1-3 months in advance so if you are out of town you can schedule your post ahead.

3). You agree to release the rights of your samples to Crafty Secrets for display on the company website, blog, in company publications and possibly for display at shows.

Although it's not a requirement, we also love to see DT members post their creations in any other online galleries and social media networks, join in challenges on other sites, submit samples to magazines ... basically just promote our products when possible.

Please include in your application:
- Name and address
- Include links to any of the following: Your Blog, Facebook page, any sites you have projects posted in such as stamp sites, Youtube, etc.

Please write a few paragraphs telling us:
A) A little bit about yourself, if you are on any current Design Team or have been and which ones?
B). Are you primarily a stamper, card maker, a traditional or digital scrapbooker?
C). Why you would like to be on the Crafty Secrets Design Team and what do you think you can offer?

- Attach 3-5 samples of your recent work which best showcases your style (under 500 KB please).

In Return Design Team Members Will Receive:

1. Generous product shipments filled with Crafty Secrets Products, with shipping included and the ability to pick some products you would like most to work with. Occasionally other companies products we may team up with.

2. Your picture and bio on the Crafty Secrets Blog and Website.

3. Compensation for published projects. Note: You don’t need to be on our Design Team to be rewarded for published projects! Please click HERE to read about our Rewards Program (scroll down past the Angel Policy).

Okay, now I have a winner to announce for our Blog Giveaway for our Car Classics and Favorite Fellas Stamp Sets, plus a copy of our CD, Creating with Vintage Patterns to be released May 30/11. From 123 entries, random.org picked #10, so congratulations to Lillian Child!

I'm visiting at DT Leader Vicki Chrisman's house in Nebraska and I wanted to show you the fantastic samples she designed for one our make & take at the Great American Scrapbook Show in Texas June 2 - 4.  This make & take will be $1.00 with proceeds going to a charity.  There will be a few different make & takes during this 3 day show and I will post the silver pendant neacklaces I made in my next post.

Here are the backs. Some of our double sided Creative Scraps work great in these small frames but we will have stamps you can use to stamp a card for the back side. They are discontinued Tattered Angels embossed Frames and I bought a skid of their discontinued products and will be adding some items to our store next week!

You can choose to create a double sided frame or one of these sweet mini wall hangings.

Until next time, wishing you all joy & creativity

DT Men's Challenge, Blog Giveaway and I'm Off to Nebraska to See Vicki!

Hi Everyone,  I'm back from the Heirloom Stamp & Paper Arts Festival in Puyallup, WA and we had a great show thanks to our helpers Ginny, Deana and Renee. Today is our Design Team Challenge and the theme is for men! We don't have a large selection of men theme products but our Car Classics and Favorite Fellas Stamp Sets were big sellers at the show so I'm also posting some great past samples below but I bet there will be some new ones today. We are also working on a Baseball and Barber Shop sets that I'm excited about that will debut in July. Please click on each of our DT Ladies Blog links below to see their wonderful creations! You can enter to win a great Blog Giveaway Prize just by leaving a comment here on this blog post. Please tell me if you ever use CD's to print paper or images, or do you do any digi scrapping?  The winner will receive both Favorite Fellas and Car Classics PLUS - Our NEW CD, Creating with Vintage Patterns!  It's finally done but getting manufactured and it turned out amazing and is packed full! A random.org lucky winner will be announced next week when I post from Nebraska as I'm leaving early tomorrow to go visit DT Leader & good friend Vicki Chrisman. It's a mix of fun & work and I will do a post from Vicki's house on Friday, May 20/11 and show a CD preview and special!

I promised several ladies at the show that I would look for some more fun samples using our Car Classics and Favorite Fellas Clear Art Stamps. Look at this fun card by past DT Member Anna Wight using our Favorite Fellas set.

I love the way Elizabeth (I_love_rubber) cut a hole to peel back her map paper to push her road through.

Dee Fillmore used our Car Classics set to teach a class last year at Scrap Arts in North Vancouver, BC which included this fun 3 D card.

Here's a great layout by DT member Heidi Blankenship and she gives step by step instructions HERE on her blog

Sophie La Fontaine was our Guest DT last month and created several samples using our Car Classics set and this one below was one of my favs. Here's a link to a 'Car Classics' search on Splitcoast and there are 15 other samples from Sophie and various card makers using our set!

This is such a cute booklet DT Member Pam Hooten created for Fathers Day using our Fishing Buds stamp set. She cut it from a 12 x 12" piece of cardstock and scored the folds.

Here's a fun card DT member Linda Duke created with Favorite Fellas when it first came out but I still smile every time I see the shaving cream beard she add with Liquid Applique from Stampin’ Up!

This layout below is by DT member Julie Campbell

We have lost our webmaster Karin to a full time job and our new lady Laura is just learning the ropes and hasn't been able to add all the old samples to our new website.  So I did a search on Splitcoast and found over 3o samples for Favorite Fellas!

Darlene Pavlick is hosting a fun Recipe challenge over at Spitcoast Stampers you can read about HERE and see the Gallery HERE. Look at the beautiful card she created using stamps from our SM 31 Rose.

Wishing you joy & creativity

Sharing some inspiration, Guest Designers, GASC in TX, and a peek at new papers

Hello friends! It's Vicki here, I'm covering the blog post  for Sandy while she's away.   She left me with lots of great samples to share with you, so lets get started :)

Mays talented  Guest Designer is  Viola Mahr.    Look at this gorgeous card she created with the Love Mail Creative Scraps and Angel Blessings Clear Art Stamps.

Huge thanks to our April Guest Designer Sophie LaFontaine for sharing all her beautiful creations with us.  This little cutie was done..using watercolor with our Clear Art Stamps.

I told you there were lots of great samples.  Well here's another. I love the "shabby" feel of this darling card by Tammy Roberts.
(image from Double sided Vintage Photos Creative Scraps and stamps from Artsy Banners)

The girls over at Splitcoast Stampers are always coming up with fun challenges and creating gorgeous things using Crafty Secrets Products.  You can check out the weekly challenges here.  They welcome everyone to play along.

Isn't this a great card Marlene created with the Farm Chicks stamp set.  I love the look of the corrugation as the background!

Here's a sweet card Lori Washburn made with the "Little Girl" stamp set.  The soft look of this is so "Springy".

And look at this beautiful box Marcy created with the Sunflower stamp set.

You'll have to read the interesting story behind "The Medicine Book" here on Design Team Member Julie Campbell's blog HERE    And you can also see another beautiful sample of hers HERE.

You can see how easy it is, (with a little creative thinking :) to achieve a different feel to your project, just by changes things up a bit.   Design Team member Pam Hooten  put a new spin on the little horse from the Down on the Farm stamp set, making it frilly and girlie.  Oh.. it's just makes me SMILE!

How fun is this card that Design Team member Heidi Blankenship made with the "Car Classics" stamp set.

Here is another great card from Heidi. This one using one of the images from Vintage Photos  Creative Scraps.

The sweet little tag below was created by Mary Hamer. What a great color combo!

Thanks for all the inspiration girls!

I know Sandy will be sharing more about the new CD's ... but check out just a few of the beautiful papers you can expect to see on them.  I am SO excited!

The Great American Scrapbook Show in Arlington TX will be here in no time at all.   It's June 2-4.   Sandy, her hubby Scott and I will be there and would love to see you, so come by and say hello!
Here is a Coupon for $2 General Admission to the show.

Okay... hopefully all the inspiration has your creative juices flowing, and your off grabbing your supplies :)   to get busy.   Enjoy the process!

Welcome DT Guest Viola Mahr and More to Come!

Hi Everyone,

Please welcome our May Guest Designer Viola Mahr! You can visit Viola's Blog HERE to see this very pretty album she created with our new revised Birds & Botanicals Booklet and Love You Mother Stamps

I'm Having comuter issues but I will be back with a bunch of great samples, links and NEWS!

Viola used one of our newly re-printed Birds & Botanical Booklets for the images in her album, even cutting the tulips from a page.  I'm picky , so when we re-printed we revised and changed some pages and the colors turned out fantastically perfect! The older ones are on sale now HERE but I will make sure the new ones are added by noon today.

Like Arnold the Terminator said " I will be back!"

Wishing You Joy & Creativity!
