Altered Halloween Spoons, Art Journal, Banner, Travel and Fun Stamped Cards!

Hi Everyone,
I have some fun projects to share today and a special free gift to tell you about when you scroll down below to see the Art Journal.
Read Vicki's blog post to see how she altered these fun Halloween spoons using a variety of images from our Halloween Cuts, Double Sided Scraps and new Jolly Halloween Stamp Set and you can see all of our Halloween theme stuff here

We have a bunch of our Wood Clip Board Albums on SALE for $1.95 to clear them out - but you will receive a FREE Wood Album as an EXTRA GIFT if you purchase CD # 3 or our Art Studio set until Oct 1/12.  They are basically a 6" x 8.5" wood front and back cover and 2 binder rings.  This was a fun Art Journal DT leader Vicki Chrisman designed using paper and images from CD #3.  The magnify glass and ART word are PNG files on the CD layered over the script paper with the bird.  Vicki used Glimmer Mist to spray white cardstock for the inside pages and stamped them using our Art Studio Set. Click image to see pages big.  Also see Vicki's 'Love Vintage' Banner on Scrapbook Adhesives Blog

DT Member Julie Campbell was dreaming of places she would love to travel to and created this fun card and a cute travel Tag you can see on her blog.  The tag would be great to stick in a plastic luggage tag holder with contact info on the other side.

Julie is a wonderful story teller with an amazing collection of family photos she's been scrapbooking like this one of her great-great-great grandmother she created using papers from CD #1.  You can read about her families journey in the mid 1800's here on Julie's Blog.

Great coloring job Marie!

Sophie la Fontaine has a wonderful knack of coming different stamp sets to create unique whimsical scenes like this adorable one she designed using the Mouse from Cutie Cats , the Mushroom from Fairyland , Postal cancellation from Artsy Banner , "For You" from our Animal Party set and the flock of birds are from Bird Notes. Also see Sophie's cute Puppy Pals card here.

We are trying to wrap up a cool Halloween Digital Kit I will show you next week.    Have a fun and fabulous weekend!

4000 FB Fan Winner! Men's Layout, Watercolor Tips, Samples and Nebraska & BC Sale Links!

Hi Everyone,

Wow - we have over 4000 Facebook Fans and our 4000th Fan was Joanna Munster from Queensland Australia who has won a $40.00 Crafty Secrets Gift Certificate!

Look at this cool layout that DT Leader Vicki Chrisman created with our new Mustache Men Stamp Set.  If you go to Vicki's Blog you can see close up details, plus all her mustache men and info about her big Flea Market Fall Festival she and her Art Group have planned Oct 5 & 6 if you are in Nebraska.  If you live close to me in Surrey BC - see my link for our big Garage Sale this Sat, Aug 18 at end of this post.

I'm in love with this purple and orange inking and the way DT Member Pam Hooten used both our new Halloween Stamp Sets Halloween Labels and Jolly Halloween on this cute Halloween tag. Also check out the spooky ATC card Pam made!

See how easy it is to make a quick card and how you don't always need to color your images.  DT Member Marilyn McIldoon simply stamped the elephant from our Animal Party Stamps on some polka-dot paper and inked it up a bit. The matching border colors pull it all together and make it more festive.

I think what I love most about using watercolor pens and pencils is the dreamy soft effect you can create like the background that Sophie La Fontaine did on this sweet card below using our Fairy Wishes Clear Art Stamp Set   using Tim Holtz Watercolor Makers.

Sophie says she likes using a clear plastic sheet to scribble the marker colors on and a water or a paint brush to paint with.  She prefers using watercolor paper and says it works better to lighten and blend colors. Later she goes in with the tip of her watercolor marker to add detail and extra shading and can soften and blend the colors again using her brush. Here are Sophie's Tips from last year simply using paints & a brush.

Then today Sophie posted this adorable smartie cat card in her gallery over at Splitcoast and I had to show you it as well. She used our Cutie Cat stamps with an image from our Childhood Booklet

Then I saw Marie-alice's card and realized she and Sophie probably made cards togther again and look at her cute back to school card with her 'Yale wanna be smartie cat'!

I've been busy helping my mom get ready for a BIG GARAGE SALE we are having this Saturday, Aug 18th at a friends house.  Our driveway is too sloped and our friend has a massive paved area out front.  I posted the ad on Craigslist today and I know hardly any of you live close to Surrey, BC Canada - too bad  but if you do, come by and say hi!!    I called it the:  MULTI FAMILY ESTATE, COLLECTIBLE GARAGE SALE of the CENTURY! and posted photos.

I have a fun kit special to show you next week!

 Wishing you joy & creativity!

Aug. Linky Winner, New Samples and Houzz Recycle Ideas

Hi Everyone,

We had 20 fabulous entries for our August Linky Party and the Random.org Winner was #15,  so Congratulations goes to Geri's Paper Wishes!  Each one of the entries were unique and wonderful and you can see them all here!

DT Leader Vicki Chrisman created a spooktacular set of Halloween cards and a treat jar using our new Jolly Halloween stamp set for $12.99 and papers from our CD #1.  You can see close up details of each card on Vicki's Blog.  Plus you can see Vicki's new doggie Daisy!

This is the Jolly Halloween Set Vicki used and for a medium set it has so many fun mix & match images and sentiments. The silhouette images at the bottom are a border stamp but you could cut them apart.

I spotted this spectacular card from a set of 4 cards that Teresa from Melbourne, Australia created using our Car Classics Stamp Set for a class she taught.  I love the way she has the car bursting through the paper and her other card designs!

Look at the way Marie-alice used mini pearls on the dragonfly wings along with the sentiment and Dandylion stamps from our Wild Flower stamp set.  Marie used a brayer to create her pretty blue sky.

Have you ever looked at the Houzz Website?  It's full of inspiring home decorating ideas and I look forward to their newsletter each week as it includes photos divided into several themes like using Mason jars.  I loved the ideas they showed recently using old rulers and yardsticks like adding them to the front of a counter in a craft or sewing room!

I also liked the drawers and table top they showed and the post reminded me of when Jan Hennings built this cool altered house memory box using old yardsticks and our Altered Fairy Scraps and stamps. Jan also made another Fairy Yardstick House for a Fairy Challenge we did.

We had a great time at our friends cabin up at Christina Lake with perfect weather.  We took our bikes and did a 3 hour bike ride along the old railway tracks above the lake which was super fun as it was mostly downhill - my kinda ride!

I wonder if anyone would like a bike theme stamp set?  I have some amazing drawings like this Star Rider bicycle design we included big on CD 3 and used on a T-shirt.

Wishing you joy & creativity!  Sandy Redburn

Vintage Summer Lady Printable and Great New Samples!

Hi Everyone,

I have a wonderful Vintage Summer Lady Printable for you today and this year I decided to make it a B&W image that I thought would be fun to color. Some of you may know I'm on vacation at our friends cabin at Christina Lake and I almost had the image ready but I didn't like the ladies mouth so got our graphics designer and magician Cindy van Koll to create her a new mouth.  Left click the image to make it as large as possible (she gets big) and right click it to save to a picture folder.
I changed several parts including covering up her exposed boob and I love the way she turned out with all the decorative elements you can color. I would really like to see any samples that people do color!  Please share this link but keep in mind our free printables are for personal use only.  Hey - color and enter her in our August Linky Party!
Plus you have to check out the great samples people have posted!

I also have some samples to share today like this cute 3D pixie house card by DT member Michele Kovack that she created with our Pixie stamp set

You have to check out the cute witchy metal dress form DT Leader Chrisman altered using paper from our Creating With Vintage CD's and the shoe template from CD #2.  Vicki also used our Halloween Cuts on the pendant.  See Vicki's Halloween coolers if you missed them

DT member Julie Campbell is back in town and she also dressed up some cute spooky bottles and cards using our new Halloween stamps.

I like the clever way Darlene Pavlick created this card using the grocery list image from our Homemade Image & Journal Notes Booklet to mat the carrots she stamped (not our stamp set) and cut away the page to fit her cool stamped paper.
Marie-alice from Splitcoast also sent me this pretty card she stamped using our Birdies STamp Set and swirls from our Flourish set.  I like how she stamped the birdie outside his cage and hung it off the sirl pattern on her paper.

Lastly  I wanted to show you this magical fairy card by Sophie La Fontaine she made with our Fairy Wishes Stamps and colored with Tim Holtz Distress Markers. We have 1 set left if you call our office you can order them directly for $99.95  and pick any small stamp set plus  get free S&H. You can read about them on my post here.

So - do you like B&W or color images better?

Don't forget you still have until this Sunday to enter our August Linky Party and the random.org winner will receive a Crafty Secrets Gift Certificate

Until next time,

Wishing you joy & creativity

Jolly Halloween SM46 is a new 4 x 6” medium size Clear Art Stamp Set with 16 separate fun stamps in a versatile mix of cute designs and cool lettering in sentiments and words. This is our 4th Halloween theme stamp set and although we were a little worried about competing with our popular Halloween sets we are super thrilled with the results and creative possibilities this set offers!  Also see our medium set SM20 Halloween Fun and VPK106 Halloween Postcard Kit mini stamp set and our other large set  SL33 Costume Cuties! Dress Form Mannequin & CD Giveaway!

Hi Everyone,

I have a great Giveaway for a dress form you can alter and a CD # 3, or you can pick CD #1 or #2.   If you don't want the Dress Form and CD you can pick $35.00 in product.  To enter, just leave a comment on this post and tell me what you prefer and see my question below.  Winner announced this Monday, Aug 6 at our August Linky Party (first Mon each month)

This is the shorter style that DT Leader Vicki Chrisman altered using text paper and images from CD #3.

I'm trying to decide if we should sell the dress forms online and the cost of shipping is the only thing holding me back.  If they sell for $16.95 for the shorter model and $18.95 for the taller one would you pay $8.50 S&H?

We would have to buy larger boxes but if it works out less we can lower it.  This is the link to my altered dress form tutorial for the one below and I also used the shorter model but then I received a shipment of the taller ones and love the waist. I used the 2 sewing pattern pages from CD 3.

Here is the taller dress form with the waist.  I love that both of these styles have a flat base so you can stand them up.  I cut a hole in mine and attached an old lamp base (see above)

I would love to do one in stamped muslin and have been figuring out how to do it and get the fabric to be smooth and add batting so you could pin jewelry and cool keepsakes.

These little bottles that Vicki altered before using CD 3 also turned out super cute.  One of the best things about the CD's is you can shrink images from large down  to 1' x 1" size and print on cardstock, paper, fabric,  tissue, whatever medium works best for your project!

I adore this cute journal page DT member Pam Hooten sent me and love how she added the stamped sentiment and used our Artsy Banner stamps to create the scallop borders!

How about this funny 'Bring Books' postcard Sophie La Fontaine stamped for her friend Patrick who is enrolled in a super boring class.  Sophie used our Book Lover Stamps and others and she has all the info here.

Look how Marie-alice made this quick card simply cutting and matting one of the Alice images from our Greeting From Wonderland Scraps.

Big congratulations to Cindy Coutts who made the front cover of the Paper Creations Magazine!

Cindy used our Coffee & Tea stamps on the cover card

Lastly, I will leave you with a photo  my daughter Chelsea sent me of Otis our dog who now lives with her.  She just bought him a doggie stroller off Amazon for less than $50.00 and says it's super well made and the perfect ride for a blind diabetic dog who loves the fresh air but can't get around as well anymore. She says now she can stake him anywhere, zip him up, pretend he is a baby and takes him into any store in her neighborhood walks - unless he barks!

Don't forget to come back this Monday and join in our August Linky Party or just see what other people are creating and I will post a winner for the Dress Form and CD.
