Get Our Free 2013 Mother's Day Printable, See Samples and New Sew Creative CD!

Hi Everyone,

I'm back and have our new 2013 Free Mother's Day Printable and some fun ideas if you are feeling more adventurous than making just a card.  I'm also thrilled with the fantastic tutorial DT Memeber Sheila Rumney created for our NEW Sew Creative CD #7 and have details and samples below.  ** Mona in our office is creating a Discount for those who bought Sewing Paper and/or Ephemera and wish to upgrade.

Just left click your mouse a few times on the printable to get it as large as possible (it's big, almost 3 MB) and right click it to save it on your computer.  For personal use only please, but you can tell your friends and link here. See sample below.

Our graphic designer, Cindy van Koll, did a fabulous job this year again and you can also get our 2012 complimentary Mother's Day Printable Box here and check out the box and bottle labels I made.

This is the card I made yesterday and I was rushing to finish so I could take photos while it was still sunnyLater I added some pretty ribbon and a bow on the side and it was the finishing touch it needed.

My card is about 5" x 6"H and half of the sheet with the card front was printed again so I could fussy cut the heart out and add it with pop dots.  I used a Sakura Clear Jelly Pen to add some sparkle without any mess.  Too bad we are sold out of them.

As I said in my last post we didn't start out thinking we would have a Sewing CD (which is $15.95 and includes all of our Sewing Papers, all of the Sewing Ephemera #1 and now 50 NEW images in Ephemera #2 - it just kept growing!  We had just finished creating 3 jumbo sized $9.95 Sewing theme Digital Art Stamp Sets: Button Up Sew Fashionista and Sewing Basket, plus 3 Sewing Printables for $2.95 each:  Button Cards, Bobbin Cards and Creative Studio Signs.  I have so many wonderful images and we got obsessed designing pieces to go with each each set we worked on - and they all turned out better than I even imagined!

Here are the 2 pages of newly added Ephemera #2 files!
There are 2 book covers with spines, 3 tabbed index pages and 4 different page designs you can print to create journals that fit a standard 7" x 9" white binder album (this one is a stock item at Staples).   TIP: the spine design for the side was a little hard to slide in until Cindy thought of inserting a ruler to stretch the plastic and it worked great. Album photos to come soon.

On page 2 below, you can see more pretty designs, some fun large re-sizeable words, fabulous trims, and the last row has some jumbo sized PNG (means they are transparent) templates with 2 dress forms 9"H and a sewing machine you can digitally layer over a piece of paper and they will be cut out with a pattern background! I will show a sample next time but I'm excited because I've always wanted big dress forms you could use this way and change the color and patterns. If you don't do digital (yet) you can simply open the dress form file and print it onto a piece of color paper but you will have to cut it out.
There are also 2 New Sewing Papers and if you ordered the Sewing Paper, Mona will add the 2 new Papers and Sheila's Digital Tutorial to your www.craftyvintagegirl.com account.

The text on this page is taken from different pages in an 1800's fashion magazine and it's so hilarious to read. How did they ever dress like this back then with out washers and dryers??

DT Member Sheila Rumney   (see her new layouts) created a great step by step 8 page digital tutorial that is on the Sew Decorative CD.  It turned out so great I'm going to see if we can add it as a freebie in our online store for anyone buying digital products that wants to learn how to do digital.  Even if you print all your papers and images and craft the traditional way, it can be expand all your possibilities once you learn some of the basics such as changing colors, adding PNG files on a paper, etc.

Lastly, I want to share this photo of my niece and nephew who I'm so proud to be their auntie!  My mom 79 and dad 82, look after them weekdays for my brother.  They are such big helper's (they love to vacuum) and so smart and adorable. I told Kason when he gets a job one day he will be able to buy a car and he announced he has a job.  "I work in the garden and help grandma and I'm going to buy a red car" he informed me.  Then his sister piped in "I work in the garden to". She wants to buy a pink car.

Wishing you joy and creativity!

Sandy

New Sewing Ephemera 72 Pc Collection, Giveaway on Facebook with 5500 Fans!

Hi Everyone,   this is the last of the sewing theme sets, our Sewing Ephemera Collection and it turned out amazing!

You have to see the sizes to appreciate all the cool things you can create. There are 72 separate high quality 300 dpi/ppi files and most of them are PNG format (which means the images are cut out digitally) so you can add the 3D buttons or the 9" ladies to a project, photos to the frames, etc.  If you don't do digital (yet) you can simply print and cut them out the regular way. Due to the labor and jumbo sizes it's $11.95 but has some full pg printables.

Our Design Team ladies are starting to work on some great projects I will post on the blog and add to our Sewing and Tutorial Pintrest Boards.
There are so many fabulous images you can see a bit better when you click on the pages above but I had to show you this adorable folding needlebook our graphic designer Cindy designed included in the set. I've been wanting to use this cute little bluebird for ages and finally found the right home for him.   It's 5" x 8" and if you print it on card stock there are only 4 folds and you just need to add a piece of felt to hold your needles. It would also make a cute tag or pocket to hold goodies.

Also, look at the free gift this month if you place an order in our online store at our CraftyVintageGirl.com
We also have a Giveaway on our Facebook page to celebrate having over 5500 Fans!
Just leave a comment or like us to be entered and a winner will be announced Friday.

UPDATE:  We had 2 winners, Sharon was #24 in 'likes' and Cynthia was #24 in 'comments'

Hey, did anyone watch American idol last night? Candice Glover was amazing and I agree with the judges and think it was one of my all time ever favorite performance's.  The girls all rock this year!

Thanks for all your kind words and support!

New Button Up Digital Stamp Set! Linky Party Winner, Cool Samples and More!

Hi Everyone,

I'm a day late posting the winner for our April Linky Party as I wanted to show you our new Button Up Digital Set but I added some new images we had to work on and now the final Sewing Ephemera Printables are almost done!  Tues, Mar 9, 11 AM UPDATE: I did this post earlier but came back to add a link to our Button Up Set and say I will do a new post and link for the Sewing Ephemera tomorrow - which looks amazing!
Congratulatons to randon.org $50.00 C.S. Gift Certificate winner #12 Kathy Clement!  Kathy has been a long time supporter who creates great samples and she has never won so I was delighted her number was picked! There were some awesome samples this month and to celebrate all our new Sewing theme items all the ladies can pick a free Digital Art Stamp set or the Papers, or the $6.00 gift certificate!

I'm pretty excited with the way our Button Up Set turned out and now I can't pick a favorite as I love the Sew Fashionista and Sewing Basket Sets as well! All 3 of these sets have a bunch of larger than normal images and you can see sizes below.

Okay, the adorable mouse isn't huge because he's from an old book and was small to start but he is 4"w x 2.7"H and I love the way Cindy gave him a needle tail and the button. I decided at the last minute we should add a jar and some button flowers and check out the bike 'spool' lady. There are 35 separate images on this $9.95 set in PNG files so you can layer them.
If you don't know how to do digital, new DT Member Sheila Rumney has a great step by step tutorial , plus you can see more here on our Tips & Tutorials Pintrest Board.

Click on the pages to see the details and sizes better. I love #35 with the 2 ladies that Cindy made!

Look at this cool layout DT Leader Vicki Chrisman created using the Sewing Papers, stamps from the Sew Fashionista Digital Art Stamp Set and the colored flowers and spool will be on the Sewing Ephemera Set that will be added later today or tomorrow. Vicki's blog was down for a week but she will be adding this layout soon with details.

I really like the shabby colors in the sewing papers Vicki used on this card and how well they go with the Bobbin Set Card she added.  Scissors are from the Sewing Basket Set

Here's a pretty card DT Member Michele Kovack created using the Sewing Papers plus our Button Card Set  which is 2 pages for $2.95

DT Member Melissa Bove also used the same Button Card Set and Sewing Papers to create th cool card below. I love the way she used the graph paper in the background with the dress form.

Wow - we have over 5500 Facebook Fans!  I have to admit I'm totally intimidated about Facebook and only use it to post updates but I need to go on more often.  I've become obsessed working in Photoshop.  We are working on a bunch of changes with our new site and products I will share asap.

I hope you are having a fabulous day!

SheilaRumney  * New Member!
Sheila was a guest designer back in 2010 and we welcome her back and her digital knowledge!  This is a digital layout she previously created using CD 3 for her friend. Sheila is pictured on the right side. The great thing with digital is everyone can have a copy.

Sheila says she’s been blessed being a wife for 25 years and mother to 2 beautiful children that keep her life very busy. She loves all things distressed, worn and aged from antiques to primitive decor. This love and appreciation of all things old spills over into her creative process. Look how she used the inside of our Bird and Blossom Scraps as a backdrop for the nest and photo here.

Below is a layout she created using our Sew Nice Scraps and you can see details and a layout with Sheila and her grandmotheron here on her blog

This tin was a project she altered with our Garden Scraps

Here is the Linky Party spot where you can add a photo of something you have
created using a Crafty Secrets product.  You have a week to add a sample and a random.org winner will win a $50.00 Crafty Secrets gift certificate and everyone else will get a $6.00 one.

Wishing you Joy and Creativity
