Hi Everyone,This was probably the hardest blog post I've ever done! My computer crashed last night and when I restarted it, the automatic firewall turned on and I went crazy trying to figure out why none of my photos would reload. I finally realized the firewall was blocking all the photos and only showing a red X. Once fixed, I thought of only posting a couple of photos but I have so much to show and share with you today! Thank you to everyone for all your wonderful comments on our Giveaway here. You have no idea how much it means to us to have your support and encouragement The random winner for our $25.00 gift certificate with free S&H was Val # 103 who said... Ooops - on the last post I made a mistake and gave Pammyjo credit for the fantastic 'color block' retro coffee card but it was Lori Lynn Washburn who designed and hosted the challenge on Splitcoast.
This is the card below that Pammyjo created for her 'Stamping on Ribbon' challenge last week and you can see the gallery of 12 cool cards people submitted HERE. This weeks challenge is being hosted by Marcy Talbert HERE to create a 'Touchy- Feely' card with texture. Anyone can join in the fun and submit a card using any of our products!
Okay, I promised I would show you photos from 2 wonderful stores in Victoria BC (when we stayed at the
romantic B&B posted HERE) and each of these stores ooze vintage loveliness and beautiful treasures! The first is
Sweet Peas at Home and it's in an old house in downtown Victoria BC.
I met the owner Debbie Johnson when she came to the Sewing Craft Show. She is so nice and when we stopped by her store on the way home from the show, I fell in love with a few treasures I had to buy!
Debbie bought some of our vintage image booklets at the show and by the time we arrived at her store the next day, she had already created so many beautiful shabby tags for her hand crafted furniture and decor items she sells. You can see one of the sweet tags she made hanging on the red baking cupboard.
I loved so many things in her store! She sells a mix of items from designer jewlery, giftware to large furniture pieces in mostly new items with some antiques. I love the fake Rosemary tree I bought and it looks so real on my kitchen window sill and I'm so happy I can't kill it!
Lastly, I have to share some photos of one of my long time favorite stores
Chintz & Company! Scott and I both love this store and usually go to the one in Vancouver but their store in Victoria is fabulous as well. Sorry USA ladies, this is a Canadian chain of stores.
They have the most incredible real looking fake plants and I've bought several small ones
for about $5.00 to sit in old tea cups as they make perfect little gifts. I also found some
pretty silver colored birds and pretty flowers this time.
Their decorating is so inspiring and fantastic I always come away with ideas. They have an incredible array of furniture with one of a kind art piecesc like this chair - which I would love to buy if I had the $$$!
We came home and Scott went on Craigs List and typed in Chintz & Company and found
a couple moving who sold us a oak coffee table, end table and a TV cabinet for $350.00,
which I'm sure was a fraction of the original price.
The upstairs is filled with home decor fabrics and stunning furniture settings.
I love to go in stores that have all the details in their displays,
from table settings to linens and art!
I had to snap a pic of this wall of fabric. I never wear orange but I love these warm colors as accents in decorating and they look great with our brown & cream paint. JoAnns also sells a fantastic array of home dec fabric as well and
I just got their flyer with the 40% off coupn in our USA mail,
so I may need to use my coupon for a pillow fabric!
Okay, that's all until next Monday, March 29 - when we will have our Design Team Spring Challenge, so be sure to come back and see what fabulous creations the ladies create! I will be posting from Arizona next week as we leave for a weeks vacation today!
