Well, here we are, at the end of January...where did this month go? I know for most of us, every winter month that gets crossed off the calendar is a good thing! I hope all our friends in snowy climes are staying warm and healthy. Although we haven't had any snow here in North Carolina, we have had days and days of rain and grey skies. And I am so ready for spring. So, to brighten up a winter day, I thought I'd pop in and share some lovely samples from our design team in a post that I'm calling "January Round Up." Also, I want to give you a heads up that Sandy has further slashed prices in the www.craftyvintagegirl.com store on most of the printed inventory and Clear Stamp Sets and also found some discontinued sets while cleaning up the warehouse!
Let's see what the gals have been creating...
Former DT Member Vicki Chrisman has been using these cold, snowy days to hunker down in her craft studio. She recently taught a class on using digital items to make lovely home decor pieces. Our Creating with Vintage Illustrations CD is loaded with beautiful bird images, papers, florals and frames. If winter has you down in the dumps, make something beautiful for your home to add some cheer!
And speaking of home decor, look at this super cute banner Vic made using images from our Retro Kitchen Kit and Kitchen Queen Digital Stamp set. This would look great hanging in my kitchen! LOL
I just love the cute kitschy papers and images in these two kits...so fun and fresh and a great way to beat the winter blues!
Our January Linky Party focused on the darling images from the new Bedtime Kids Digital Art Stamps. The team has made so many adorable projects using these sweet stamps. Take a look at this fun retro baby card that Michele Kovack made with the little lamb images from the set.
Michele printed the little lamb off in two different sizes, creating great depth and dimension in this pretty, pretty card. That's the wonderful thing about digital....it's just so versatile!
Sheila Rumney has also made some darling cards using these stamps. Look at this adorable little boy card....this one always makes me think of that old song, "Me and My Shadow." Do you remember it? Sheila shares some great memories from her childhood in THIS sweet blog post. You'll want to be sure to read it, as I know it will make you smile!
And, with the end of January....Valentine's Day is right around the corner! The team has been whipping up some really cute Valentines. Take a look:
I love the touch of gold that Shantaie Caudill Fowler added to the cherub in this sweet card made with our Be My Valentine stamps. Those layers are scrumptious, Shantaie, and the beautiful bow is absolute perfection!
I love it when our designers think outside the box...and Vic really knocked my socks off with this darling Valentine made with our Little Dogs Digital stamp set. This is such a great idea for your dog loving friends! She just printed the stamp onto some of our digital papers to create this lovely card. So easy...but oh, so pretty!
Darlene Pavlick has been busy making Valentines, too! She used our Love Mail Creative Scraps to whip up this bright and pretty Butterfly themed Valentine. Creative Scraps are a wonderful option when you need to make a card fast!
Dar also made this lovely lattice Valentine by combining Love Mail Creative Scraps with our Altered Fairy Creative Scraps. Look at that cute kissing couple!
The cold winter days have us all longing for spring...and I'm hoping these lovely cards from the design team will help push Old Man Winter along and usher in some pretty spring days. I know it won't work that way, but these cards are certainly a breath of springtime!
Melody Clement combined papers from our Vintage Valentine Kit with stamped images from our Bird Notes Digital set to create this stunning card. Oh, the colors here just make my heart sing!
Elizabeth Lincoln is keeping her heart happy by playing with our Flower Garden Digital Stamps. Look at the beautiful coloring done here! The seed packet frame is a wonderfully versatile stamp. You can use it small, as Liz did here, or you can make it larger and use it as a frame for a larger piece of home decor.
Diane Hover got busy with our Vintage Valentine Kit and our Love Mail Creative Scraps and created this gorgeous Pink Valentine. I just love the way she has the hearts and leaves coming up over the sentiment panel. You can read all about how she made it HERE.
And lastly, Diane Hover created this wonderful "Two Way Open" card and shares the details in her blog post. She combined images from our Altered Fairy Creative Scraps with a beautiful image from our Childhood Vintage Image and Journal Notes Booklet to make this interactive card.
Did you forget it was winter for a minute or two? Good! Then my job is done here!
Be sure to come back on Monday when we will go live with our February Linky Party and DT Challenge. We have a special guest designer this month, some beautiful free downloads to share with you and a wonderful prize package that you will definitely want to add to your crafty stash! Enjoy your weekend, and you might just want to break out some of the Crafty Secrets goodies I've featured here today and get busy making some Valentines....just in case there's a Valentine theme for the Linky Party. Just sayin'!
Until then, on behalf of Sandy Redburn, I wish you joy and creativity!
