New Books, Stamp Set, Guest Designer & Neely from Tilly & the Wall!

Yippee! I have LOTS of great news to share! First, our 4 latest Image & Journal Notes Booklets Little Dolls, Girlfriends, Halloween and Christmas are at the printers and we will have them for the upcoming CHA Wholesale Show July 18 – 20th. I’ve been waiting so long to share some of these incredible vintage images and I’M SO HAPPY I can’t pick a favorite book! They turned out fantastic and each title includes such an eclectic mix of vintage images from sentimental and beautiful to hilariously FUN! This is an AD going into CARDS MAGAZINE showing all 8 titles and you can’t really see by the pages on the covers but we included lots of meaningful quotes, little poems and funny one liners with the journal notes that will make them so easy and fun to use!
Our head graphic designer Cindy van Koll did an incredible job and we also brought designer Carol Bauman on board to help with a few pages in each book.

We are also working like crazy ladies to finish up a few more stamp sets for the CHA show. Remember if your favorite store is going to this big wholesale show in Chicago this month, be sure you tell them to come by our booth # 2950 and check out all our new items and samples, see demos by designers Vicki Chrisman and Lisa Zappa, our show specials and prizes!

One of our NEW Stamp Sets to debut at the show is called Support the Girls and I’m happy to announce I’m going to donate $1.00 from every set we have manufactured to the Susan Korman Foundation for breast cancer research and we just ordered 500 sets, so we are off to a good start! We are giving sets away to stores signing up at the BHG Booth for the Pink Crops and I will more exciting news and samples to share soon!

This medium size set will be available later this month and retail for $15.75. I will post a blog candy give-away for this set soon!

I’m also thrilled to introduce our New Guest Designer Marisa from Richmond BC! I met Marisa through http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ the stamping website that continues to blow me away with all of the talent you see in their huge online galleries and their endless resources and diverse but ‘oh so friendly and welcoming’ group of ladies (ok, there are a few guys) who continually add to the site. The first time I visited I didn’t see much until I started clicking and really looking around. You can see Our HUGE Online Gallery Here where people have posted samples they’ve created with our products! Some of the ladies take turns and also post weekly challenges like this Patriotic challenge HERE. Hey, if you missed my FREE Vintage Sheet Music download, just click it on or scroll farther down this blog.

Ok – back to Marisa! I really LOVE the way she creates scenes and adds layers to so many of her cards! She is originally from the Philippines and she told me her sister from San Francisco got her hooked on scrapbooking first but when she discovered stamping she became totally hooked. She is a busy mom and works full time but she now has her own little studio at home to stamp and be creative!

She joined Splitcoast in 2007 and she says she is grateful to all the people she has met and all the techniques and inspiration she gets.

On the Strut Your Stuff card shown above, I love the way Marisa layered the leaves and eggs she stamped from our Bird Lovers stamp set with papers from our Earthy Paper Pad on her first card.

I also really like the way she mixed the leaves and the flower border from our Bird Lovers stamps with the girl in the hammock from our Sweet Kids stamp set. The 3D layers and colors are perfect.

She used our Seaside Stamps to create this pretty beach scene with the lighthouse stamped in the water and the layered shells and the bird she stamped look great popped up.

Here is a link to Marisa’s blog where you can see a bunch more of the wonderful cards she has created and her list of stamping supplies, tips and techniques she used. I love the way she used our Bird Lovers Stamp set and papers from our Earthy Paper Pad on her first card.
We had such a fun weekend celebrating getting the 4 new books ‘outta here’ as my husband Scott puts it. There sort of take over, as I’m sifting through 1000’s of images and stacks of old books. I can’t really rip pages from the books so I have post it notes stuck on 100’s of pages with changes to make and quotes or words to add. Some images go through so many changes they don’t even look the same when Cindy is finished with them. The people or animals have to be ‘heartwarming’ or they get their heads chopped off once in awhile to add a happy face, or we may mix 4 different items together to get 1 perfect image. It’s fun but I don’t do the Photoshop part so it’s hard to be patient and see if they can pull off some of the crazy ideas I get. These 4 new books have LOTS of amazing pages!

On Friday night we went to a nightclub in Vancouver with my daughter Chelsea and her friend Anthony to see Tilly & the Wall at Richards on Richards! We have a couple of their CD’s so we were pretty excited and it was so MUCH FUN! We were really excited most of all to finally meet Neely, one of the lead singers from the band, because we’ve heard so much about her and the band from her aunt Vicki Chrisman who is also our head sample designer, that we felt like we already knew her. Neely is in this photo with Chelsea and myself. She has such a great voice and she is so sweet and pretty. She came and sat with us before and after the show. When she’s not touring she teaches elementary school and I bet all the boys have a crush on her! They have a crazy busy tour ahead you can SEE HERE.

Before the concert, we went out for yummy Chinese food and then went to the Night Market in Chinatown in downtown Vancouver. There were sorts of cool things to eat and buy. I bought 8 year old Gingsing (to make me strong) , some silk flower mini lights (for my booth at CHA) and a DVD of my favorite movie last year ‘Bobby’. http://www.bobby-the-movie.com/ It was a diverse mix of cheap no tax goodies!

Okay, way too much blabbing here, but please come back and visit again because I have a bunch more things to announce, inspiring samples to post and Free Blog Candy Give-Aways!

PS- Check out all the great samples OuR TALENTED DESIGN TEAM has been creating and on posting on our online Gallery!
Plus - I just got word from designer Linda Duke that she has some cool samples on her blog that she created with Spellbinders New dies HERE and they have a contest!

My Goodness Sandy, such a busy lady you are. It all looks like way too much fun!
The ad looks great for the magazine, I know you'll get good response as your products are so appealing.
Wow... new books and I love the stamp set. Thanks for sending everyone over to our challenges at SCS, we do have fun and it's so inspiring to see how many great ideas the ladies can come up with.

The new booklets look great Sandy and the Support the girls stamp set looks awesome (although it makes me happy to think that most bras these days look a little less like scaffolding!), great that some of the profit goes to the breast cancer charity too. Congrats to Marisa on the guest designer slot!
