August Linky Party: Fall/Back to School Theme

Hello, Friends!

Welcome to the August Linky Party and DT Challenge! Our theme for this month is Fall/Back to School.  As summer winds down, we look forward to all the special things that Fall has to offer: crystal clear blue skies, gently turning leaves, a delightful crispness to the air, and kids heading back to school.  There's the fresh apple crop to celebrate, fat orange pumpkins fill the fields, sunflowers put on a final flashy show and the geese begin their long journey southward.  So many wonderful images to choose from within this theme.  We're inviting you to join the party, and have provided some wonderful inspirational projects to fire your imagination.

If you don't have any Crafty Secrets products, here's a free digital image for you to use in this challenge.  Just right click and download to your computer, then print out and use it in a card, a project or a layout.  Of course, you don't have to follow the fall theme, but it's always fun if you do.  Feel free to use whatever Crafty Secrets goodies you have in your stash! I have always loved these beautiful fall flowers, and thought I would share them here with you.
The design team found some wonderful fall themed papers and images when they created their projects for this challenge.  They've each prepared a wonderful tutorial to inspire your creativity.  Just click on the links below to visit their blogs.

DT Leader, Kathy Clement used our Letterpress Digital Papers to create this easel and box, and has a tutorial on making a fancy rosette without using a cutting die.

Darlene Pavlick created this super cute notepad using images from our Childhood Vintage Images booklet and shares a tutorial so you can make one, too!

Printer's Trays are always a great way to decorate your home, and DT member Diane Hover has created a lovely wall hanging using images from our fall printable sheet to inspire your creativity.

Fall is the perfect time to throw a wine tasting party, and Elizabeth Lincoln used our Wine Lovers digital art stamps to create a wonderful invitation and wine charms.  I think this set is so much more usable in digital format.  I've always loved that background scene, but it was so tiny on the stamp, you really couldn't appreciate it. Her tutorial will show you how to add dimension to your stamped images.

Gloria Stengel  has had a ball playing with papers from our Creating With Vintage Patterns CD, and has a tutorial for making this amazing fall themed mini album. Her tutorial will show you how to make the book binding, and give you tips for printing your papers.

Melody Clement has created a stunning piece of home decor to welcome fall.  Her tutorial will give you tips for saving ink and paper when you are printing digital items.

This adorable easel school card by Michele Kovack also uses images from our Childhood Vintage Images and Journal Notes booklet.  Don't you just love the darling banner?

And since great minds think alike, Shantaie Fowler  used this same image to create an adorable box of colorful crayons.

Sheila Rumney has a digital tutorial showing how to use Photoshop to create matching digital cardstock and then add texture to it. She altered papers from our Digital Thankgiving Collection.I love the way she used our free download in this layout!

Wow!  That's a lot of creative inspiration for you to enjoy.  Once you've visited all the blogs, we'd love you to come join the party.  The rules are simple.  Just create a NEW project featuring Crafty Secrets products and link it up here on the Heartwarming Vintage blog using the Linky Tool below.  Be sure to link back to the Crafty Secrets blog in your post, and let us know what product you've used in your project.

We're going to keep the party open until midnight Sunday, August 17th so you'll have plenty of time to join the fun. The members of the design team will be stopping by your blogs to enjoy your handiwork and one participant will be randomly selected to win a $50 shopping spree at the Crafty Secrets store. Everyone who plays along will receive a $6 store credit.  The winner will be announced on this blog on Tuesday, August 19th.

Sorry -it appears we had a little issue with Linky Tools and some of the entries were accidentally deleted. If you have linked up a project, please check the blog and re-link if necessary. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience

Fabulous DT samples! Sorry, I wasn't sure which Linky to use so I posted to both. Feel free to delete the duplicate. I hope to return and play along with this month's DT theme!

Hi, Cynthia! We had an issue with Linky Tools and all the entries were accidentally deleted. We hope you will re-link now that the issue has been fixed! Thanks so much!

Kathy,
I attempted to link up my project but it tells me it doesn't recognize the backlink to Crafty Secrets. I have posted to Splitcoast Stampers rather than a blog. But have included the link in my comments.

Oh, dear....I am so sorry Cynthia! I don't know why it is doing that. I'll see if I can fix it. Thanks for being so patient with us! I'm new at setting up the Linky tool, and we just had a lot of issues this time around. I am so sorry!
